Review: Essence Fall/Winter 2021/2022 Products

I just came around to finally properly testing all the new products from Essence fall/winter 2021/2022 revamp. There is surprisingly a lot of new skin care products and I am loving creamier formulas that I got to try out.

Review: Catrice Spring/Summer 2021 Products

Catrice has again revamped their stand in the start of spring, but I just came around testing all of these products properly. Here are my thoughts on which products are worth a try, if you're considering getting any. I love Catrice as a brand in general, some of their products are my favorites that I keep rebuying while others are a fail. But you really can't go wrong at that price range.

Review: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - 218 Devil Wears Nada

I really like Sally Hansen nail polish formulas. They all have such a nice creamy formula, great shade selection and they usually last on my nails really well. So when I saw one of the nude shades in TK Maxx, I got it.

Review: OPI Nail Lacquer - Now Museum, Now You Don't and Sun, Sea and Sand in My Pants

I have never had any OPI nail polishes, but I remember this brand being very popular back in the day. It had one of the most unique nail polish shades in the time where there weren't new makeup and nail launches coming out every day. I received two shades from Lisbon collection, which was actually spring/summer collection of 2018

May 2019 Favorites

It has been a busy month and I managed to buy a few new products as well as receive some that I have been testing out. It's one of those monthly favorites that features all new products that have impressed me. Because otherwise, I pretty much used all of my favorites from April and March.

Review: Catrice #peeloff Glam Effect Nail Polish - 03 When In Doubt, Just Add Glitter

I received this nail polish, because Catrice representatives from Slovenia saw this on my wishlist. What a lovely surprise it was and I knew immediately I will like it, because I already had Essence Glitter On Glitter Off Nail Polish 02 Razzle Dazzle which is pretty much the same formula as this one, but with smaller glitter and I love that formula, because it's so easy to remove.

New In (21)

Today I'm talking about some new affordable drugstore launches as well as some new to me products that have impressed me. There are also some of the usual repurchases.

My Wishlist

Holidays are coming and so is my birthday in the beginning of January. Usually, I buy all my makeup and skin care myself, but I have a wishlist on my Pinterest more as a reminder for me. It's also a good way of sharing what I'm currently liking with all of you. Maybe I'll give you some ideas on what to buy for your relatives and such. I even included links on where to buy it (more for Slovenia). It's mostly makeup, skin care, body care, fragrance and some other products as well.

Review: Essence Glitter On Glitter Off Peel Off Nail Polish - 02 razzle dazzle

I'm continuing my reviews with another Essence product that has been added to their range for this upcoming season. It's their Glitter On Glitter Off Peel Off Nail Polish. I remember Essence having a peel off base nail polish that you'd apply on the nails and then go over with a glittery nail polish. The base would suppose to just peel off, but it didn't. However, seems Essence finally figured it out, because this one definitely peels off in one piece.

Review: Avon Trendy Beauty Box

Apparently, Avon has decided to stick with the beauty box concept and there is already a new one that you can buy. It's part of their latest campaign and it's mostly makeup, which I like. Let's take a closer look at what's inside.

Review: Avon Mark Gel Shine Nail Enamel - Chrome and Holographic

Avon's Gel Shine is my favorite nail polish range from them. I love the shade selection as well as creamy and not too thick formula. They often times expend their ranges and the same happened a few months ago. They've added new chrome shades as well as some that they describe as mermaid vibes.

My Avon Box From Nude to Glamour

Beauty boxes have been on the scene for a while. However, not at Avon, at least not until now. So far, I know for two beauty boxes and I'm showing you what's inside the first one. It comes in this pretty square paper box with a black and peach design. In it you get 6 full size products. With it you also get instructions on what's inside and how to use it to create three different looks from day appropriate to an evening look.

Review: Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail Polish - 180 Chai on Life

I have only one Sally Hansen colored nail polish in my collection (sadly, no review of it) and their Insta-Dry Top Coat (which didn't impress me). But their formula is something I liked immediately, because it's a thicker formula that covers nail quickly. Recently, I got two new Sally Hansen nail polishes in my mail box, but one came completely shattered. It broke while transporting, so I can't show you that one, although it was a fun electric purple shade.

Review: Kiko Mini Nail Lacquer - 30 Mint Milk

Kiko is one of my favorite nail polish brands along Avon. I love that they have a huge color selection among different ranges. Their nail polishes also always last fairly long on my weaker nails which is the reason why I love them so much. When I was in Kiko in Graz I saw these mini nail polishes and I had to grab one of those shades that I've been looking for a while. By the way, apparently Kiko in Graz has closed and I am so upset by that. I love a lot of their products and now I probably won't be able to buy them anymore.

December 2017 Favorites

Before I post my 2017 Favorites, I will share my December favorites. I always do December too, because it's a more festive month and I may like some other products that I don't mention often. But check back in a few days for the products that I loved this year the most.

This is a natural blend of butters and oils and I love using it in the winter, because it's a heavier product. I use it as the last step in my night time routine. Part of the reason why I love this so much is the white chocolate scent to it. It's also a nice oil to lock in all the moisture you've put on your skin and it makes my skin moisturized and plump looking. I would pile this on, if I feel like my skin is overly dry or feels irritated. It soothes the skin well.

Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream

I've had this for a while and I wanted to feature it in my favorites. It's almost gel like lightweight cream, but it feels moisturizing and hydrating around the eyes. It's not too heavy and it doesn't irritate my eyes. You would expect it to be slimy, because of the snail statement, but it's more like a regular gel cream. I'm not sure if this is tester version, because they have a jar version with 25 ml and in this one is only 15 ml. I like the small size for storing and carrying around.

Colourpop Yes, Please! and She Eyeshadow Palette

Colourpop is one of those brands that needs to get to Europe or at least have a storage in EU. I always want products from them and then I pay customs or what ever our country wants to call those taxes that I have to pay, so I always swear I won't buy from them again. Somehow this package slipped through our customs and I already tried it out well. Both of these palettes have amazing pigmentation, which also means a lot of kick up in the pan. But I forgive it that for the pure pigment. They all seem to blend well (there are some darker exceptions) and mattes seem almost more pigmented than shimmery shades. I love color scheme of both of these. Yes, Please! is my kind of go to warm shade selection and She is pink peach mauve dream. I would buy more of them, if they would be available in EU.

This was a limited edition product, so it's not available anymore, but I just wanted to mention it, because I've been using it a lot. It's a cooler champagne liquid product that has a lot of shimmer and I love using it as a highlighter. It's light enough for my winter skin tone and it still pops on the skin well. I especially like it paired with a more basic neutral makeup.

December is perfect for red lips and I've been loving this Orange You Happy color by Avon. It's just a very vibrant orange red. Texture is mousse like and it doesn't feel drying on the lips, but gives you nice matte finish. I adore orange toned reds and this one is also comfortable to wear.

Makeup Revolution Lipstick - Wishful

First of all, I love the rose gold design of it and the MAC inspired packaging. Shade Wishful is that perfect light peachy nude shade. It's warm toned, but not too peachy. I almost notice some pink in it. It has vanilla scent and semi matte finish. For some reason I've been reaching for it this month whenever I needed a good warm nude shade. It wears lovely and doesn't feel drying.

Nivea Aloe & Hydration Body Lotion

I love Nivea body lotions in general and I really like this one. I've almost finished it. It's for normal to dry skin  and supposedly contains intensive moisture serum and aloe vera. Aloe vera is one of the best ingredients for hydration. This is lightweight gel like lotion with white tint. It blends into the skin well and doesn't feel greasy or heavy, but leaves a nice moisturizing layer on the skin. I thought this would be too lightweight, but it's not. The texture is light, but it definitely hydrates well. It also has lovely sweet herbal scent to it.

Kiko Matte Effect Top Coat

This month I've been getting more into matte nails. For some reason I preferred matte over shiny. It must be because of all the glitter on my face. I love this top coat by Kiko. It gives me perfect matte finish and it also seems to last well on my nails, at least more than those matte colored nail polishes. So I prefer to just use a regular colored nail polish and apply matte top coat over it. It also has wide rounded brush which makes it easy to apply it quickly without too much effort.

H&M Pink Sweater

I am obsessing over those dirty muted pinks this year and I've never really been a fan of pink, but this shade just speaks to me. I got this sweater on sale and it's so comfortable. I think it's so fluffy, because it's made out of 52% viscose. This is like wearing a bath robe. It's also a bit oversized, but has a nice v neck which elongates my short body. I just love it for the color and ultra soft feel.

November 2017 Favorites

This month was the easiest to pick favorites, because I knew exactly what I used the most and which products really impressed me. I have some fun new products that I discovered as well as some of my fall staples.

Bipa Look By Bipa Matte Camouflage Concealer - 010 Light

I have been neglecting my Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer and you know I absolutely love that one. But ever since I got this one from Bipa, I've just been grabbing it on daily basis. Why? Because it has even better coverage than Catrice. It dries down matte and is very long lasting. It reminds me of Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. It doesn't grab in my lines, but is not as hydrating as Catrice, so my fine lines can look drier. But the coverage is what I love so much and the fact that the shade 010 Light is actually really light.

Catrice LE Kaviar Gauche Highlighter - C01 Eclat D'Or

Everyone is gushing over Catrice's Limited Edition Kaviar Gauche and for a good reason. It's the most luxurious looking collection with nude leather look and gold details. I too love the whole collection and am tempted to buy the brush collection, but I know I have too many brushes as it is. Not that I don't have too many highlighter also, but what can I say, it's an addition. I'm attracted to all things sparkly. This is by far one of the best Catrice highlighters. It looks pink and I do feel that it has a slight pink undertone to it (especially compared to my other highlighters), but it mostly just gives you a true champagne glow. The shimmer is so fine (like with Becca Pressed highlighters) and it looks almost like an oil on your face. It's not as obvious as some other highlighters, but you can definitely build it up to look intense.

When I want a yellow gold highlight, I reach for the gold shade in this palette. It's again so finely milled and gives you such a nice sheen. A bit more intense and yellow gold, but nonetheless super pretty.

I absolutely adore gold shades and this one is almost leaning towards copper gold. It's the one shade that I've been putting on the lid this month whenever I wanted something more sparkly on top of all matte look. It pairs well with most neutrals and it gives you a lovely warm golden sheen. I love their creamy formula which is super pigmented and very easy to apply with your fingers.

Beauty People Flash Fix Pearl Pigment Pact - 1.Ssum Light

This is by far one of my favorite purchases this year. I've been eyeing it on Ebay, but then Jolse launched this brand and it was 30% off, so I got it. It's basically small irregular sized glitter that is very tightly pressed into this small black pot. It applies best with your fingers and because it's dry, it grabs best on top of cream products. Otherwise it may fall down. It's a copper gold shade and it looks so good on top of any eyeshadow. If you love glittery sparkly eye looks, you would adore this. I am in my "Christmas mood" ever since I got it and always find a way to apply it on top of other shades.

Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick - 12 Brunette

It has the most interesting texture that applies on the lips like a dream. You think that this can't possibly be matte of how creamy it goes on, but it instantly dries down to a complete matte look similar to matte liquid lipsticks. It's also very long lasting and surprisingly comfortable to wear. This shade is one of my favorites, as it's a brownish red that is perfect muted darker red for fall. I'll have a full review on my blog soon.

I already have a review of this, so I'm not going to go into details. It's a more thicker formula that applies lovely, is very pigmented and stays put very well. I just adore this brownish mauve shade as it looks so good with many different makeup looks. It's also comfortable to wear and the magnetic closing makes it feel super luxurious.

Kiko 3D Hydra Lipgloss - 18 Golden Sparkle

When I'm feeling something moisturizing and sparkly, I go for this lip gloss on top of lipsticks. It doesn't feel sticky, gives you nice amount of golden shine and makes my lips feel comfortable. I really like this shade, but the shimmer is so dense that I apply it just on the center of the lips most of the time.

For some reason I don't really like grey shade, but this nail polish color grew on me. It's the perfect light nude for fall as it goes with any outfit and for some reason makes my nails look pretty. I love pastel shades in general and I've been wearing it a lot. It's also my favorite Avon nail polish formula, because it's nicely pigmented and stays on my nails well.

The Library Of Fragrance - Baby Powder

I got sample of this fragrance from Mateja and I immediately like it. It's such a comforting, sleepy, powdery baby scent. I adore it. It may be a bit too harsh for some, but I absolutely love these warm powdery scents. Mateja has a mini review here and I agree with her that it also has a bit of that almond feel to it.

As soon as the weather gets cold, I grab this perfume. It's one of my favorites because it's a warm oriental fragrance. It's sweet in a way, because of the mandarin, but then it becomes very powerful and strong, because of the oriental base of sandalwood. It's a perfect mix of sweet, sophisticated and oriental strong.

Pimkie Notebook

They sell this notebook in a set of two. One is black with floral notes and this one is sparkly gold mess that I've been loving. It's completely smooth to the touch, so no falling down glitter, and it has silver writing in the front that says NOTES, but you almost can't see it. I've been using it as a glittery prop for my blog photos and I adore it. Obviously, since it's gold and sparkly.

Tuš - mug

I also wanted to share this adorable mug that I bought in Tuš. It immediately caught my eye. I have a thing for pastel pink in my decor this year and this one just seemed like a minimalist's dream. I also broke one of my mugs that has that same shape, so I needed a new one. Btw, I love using it for eating cereal or my morning cottage cheese mix.

Stradivarius - Coat

If you're as small as me (I like to think I'm 157 cm, but apparently I'm even smaller) and big boobed, you'll know how hard it is to find anything that isn't too big, too long and that can fit in your boobs. I've been dreaming of camel structured coat for about two years. I should also mention that I'm allergic to wool and most of these coats all have some percentage of wool in it. So when I found one without it, with a fairly good fit, I was ecstatic. I got it fitted - shortened sleeves as well as shortened the length of it. It's a bit of an oversize look, but I love it so much. Surprisingly, it's also very warm.

Review: Avon Mark Gel Shine Nail Enamel - Fall 2017 Shades

I think that I'm always most excited for fall nail polish colors. I just adore fall color palette and Avon usually makes some unique nail polish shades. I've just remembered last year's fall collection, which I adored. Because let's be honest, most drugstore brands have similar colors, although there are exceptions. Here are the new fall colors of Avon Mark Gel Shine Nail Enamels.

They have regular square glass bottle with a plastic top. In each is 10 ml of product. The regular price is 6.50€. Currently in Slovenia they have an offer 2 for 5.50€

The brush is thinner and straight cut. I'm quite used to it by now, because I love wearing nail polishes from this Gel Shine line. It's my favorite  nail polish line from Avon.

The texture of these nail polishes is very creamy and not too thick, but also not thin in consistency. They have good pigmentation, but mostly need at least two coats. Olive-it is the only shade that I feel can be one coater, if you apply a thicker coat.

The drying time is fairly quick, but it also depends on how thick your coats are. I don't have a problem with drying, because I always use a fast drying top coat on top. They dry down to a nice shine

Now let's go onto the actual shades. This year the color range is slightly cooler with some muted shades as well as certain pops of color.

Berry Me

Medium cool toned brighter pink. It's the one shade that looks the least fall like to me. For some reason I feel like this is more of a spring or summer color. It should be more muted to look more berry in my opinion.

Berry Nutty

Light warm muddy brown. This is actually my favorite color of all of these. It's the perfect nude brown shade for the fall. It's kind of light, but has that slight warm purple feel to it and it just goes with everything. I guess it represents a nuts kind of color, hence the name.

Head In Clouds

Light cool grey. I'm a more warm toned person, but there have been several times that I was searching through my nail polish collection for a grey color and didn't find it. Now I have it. It's a dreamy pastel shade for cool toned lovers. Even I like it, as it turns slightly olive based on my skin tone.

Moody

Medium cool grey. The name describes it perfectly. When I think of moody, I think of grey. It's again one for cool toned lowers. This is more of a proper grey shade and it can look almost dark on light skin tones.

Olive-it

Light muddy mint green. This is again one of my favorites, because it looks so unique. It reminds me of retro mint green furniture. It's not a typical mint green shade, because it's more muted in color and looks slightly muddy. I really like it.

Spiked Punch

Medium muddy coral. This is again quite unique. It actually looks slightly more pink toned in real life than it does on my photos. On my skin tone it turns more orange, but it's like a mix of pink and orange - so coral with a muddy brown feel to it. It's muted as most of these fall shades. To me this reminds me more of the pumpkins.

I like Avon Mark Gel Shine formula, because it's nicely creamy, not too thick and not too thin. The brush is thinner, but easy to work with and they dry fairy fast. I also love the fact that Avon often times updates their Gel Shine range with new colors and the fact that they often times come out with more unique colors. New fall 2017 collection is no exception. My absolute favorite is Berry Nutty. I also really like Olive-it and Head In Clouds. Spiked Punch is another unique color. I also don't mind a classic grey that is Moody. Berry Me is the only shade that I feel like it doesn't really go with fall theme, but the shade is not bad. I just wouldn't really wear it in fall time. What are your favorite colors?

Jesenska barvna paleta me navdušuje in Avon ima vedno kakšen unikaten odtenek laka.

So moja najljubša Avonova linija lakov.

Berry Me

Berry Nutty

Svetlo toplo umazano rjava.

Head In Clouds

Svetlo hladno siva. No zdaj ga imam.

Olive-it

Svetlo umazano mentolno zelena. Spominja me na retro mentolno zeleno pohištvo. Ni tipično mentolno zelena, ker deluje skoraj bolj zamolklo in umazano. Res mi je všeč.

Spiked Punch

Srednje umazano koralna.

Zelo všeč sta mi tudi Olive-it in Head In Clouds.
