Review: Badger Sleep Balm

Hey Beauties!

The last product review of my Ecco Verde purchase. It's also the cutest in my opinion.

First of all, I did not know that badger meant this cute stripy animal on their packaging. I learned a new English word :). How cute is the packaging? I know, right?! It's an old school metal pot. Not the most practical, because the top starts loosening up and maybe dropping off. But don't worry this is a night product so you won't be carrying it around your bag, unless... you want to try to fall asleep in classroom? Probably not the best idea.

A dreamy night balm rich with precious oils to calm, encourage, cheer and relax poetic Badgers and other restless wanderers. Badger Sleep Balm doesn't make you sleepy and it is not a drug, rather this natural sleep enhancer uses a sophisticated blend of essential oils to help quiet your thoughts and clear your mind, then you fall asleep naturally. Rosemary is the traditional herb for clear thinking, confidence, and memory. Bergamot is mentally uplifting, and Ginger is strengthening and confidence-inducing. Balsam Fir is refreshing, like a walk in the woods, while Lavender is the traditional sleep herb: fresh and relaxing. This balm is perfect for those nights when you can't seem to stop the mind chatter!

The descriptions is so fantasy like, that it makes you wanna buy it. Now, I am one of those people that starts thinking about what do I need to do tomorrow, did I locked the door, is the new Catrice line already in stores? ... yadayadayad ya... right after I lie down in the bed. You can see why I was attracted to this product, right?!

The product is a balm of lime green color. It's very buttery and a little greasy. It's supposed to be applied on pulse points, under the nose, on the lips and on the temples. The smell is supposed to make you relax and calm.

First time I used it, I slept like a baby. The next time? Not so much. It's definitely not a sleeping pill, it's a fun night time treatment that sort of prepares you for sleep. The smell is somewhat fresh. I do smell lavender, which I am not a fan of. But what can I do? All sleepy products contain lavender. However, I like that it's not completely lavender, because it does smell very fresh. I think this would also be very good for when you have a cold, because it sort of opens up the inhalation process.

This pot contains 21 grams, which will last you a life time - because you need so little of it for one night. It cost me 5.79 €. You can also get a bigger version of 56 grams, but in all honesty, I don't think you need that much.

It's a really cute product for a night stand and it does make you relax and smell the freshness of the forest before going to sleep, just don't expect it to work like a sleeping pill.

This brings me to the end of this Ecco Verde purchase product reviews. I hope you liked it. I certainly did love all of those products and I am sure I will be repurchasing most of them.

So, do you have trouble sleeping like me?

Review: Dr. Scheller Jojoba Oil & Schisandra Soothing Intensive Serum

Hey Beauties!

Yet another product from my Ecco Verde purchase. This one has to be my favorite of the whole purchase. I was afraid of using oils, because my skin is combination to oily and thought that oils would just make me produce more oils or clog my pores. But then the oils are like so popular now, so I kind of decided to buy this one, which is also good for sensitive skin, like mine.

Za vse, ki raje prebirate ocene v slovenščini, klik - tukaj.

The Intensive Serum is a highly concentrated special skincare product for the soothing of sensitive skin. It effectively diminishes redness, offers lasting protection against the development of new skin irritations and strengthens its protective barrier.

Here is the ingredients list:

I really liked this serum. It's basically like an oil serum. The texture is pretty oily and somewhat opaque white. I use three drops for my entire face and neck. Now the smell. I admit it bothered me in the beginning. To me it smells like a natural smell of oil. I don't know how jojoba or schisandra smell, but the smell is very natural, therefore might be disturbing for those who like your products to smell nice. I feel like putting on olive oil, because olive oil to me also smells, and not nice. I got used to the smell, because of the benefits that I saw on my skin. Once you put the oil on the face, you have to massage it in quickly, because it completely soaks in the skin in the matter of 3 minutes. I love that. It leaves behind a slightly sticky surface, but not greasy. I can start putting on makeup or moisturizer or go to sleep without worrying of oil staining my bedding. I use it in the morning and in the evening.

My skin feels a lot more hydrated. But what I really like about it, my skin is a lot less irritated. It really does ditch the redness in my face. Skin is not irritated, or red. I even squeezed out my pimples and put this one after the cleansing and I swear it reduced the redness on the spot of that pimple. I can't say anything more than exceptional product for moisturizing without feeling greasy and the best product for sensitive or irritated skin, prone to redness.

The product comes in a glass dark bottle with dropper, so it's easy to measure the right amount of product. It contains 30 ml of serum and costs 11.89 €, which I think it's a fair price for a serum. It also lasts a really long time, since you literally need only two to three drops.

Now I saw that their should also be a soothing moisturizing care in this range - like a cream. I think I should try it. If anyone has tried it, please let me know.

Did you try any of the Dr. Scheller products and how did you like them?

Review: Martina Gebhardt Sheabutter Tonic

Hey Beauties!

Continuing my product reviews from Ecco Verde, this one is going to be about sheabutter tonic from Martina Gebhardt. I have never been a real fan of tonics and that's exactly why I decided to buy this one. It had some very promising description.

Če želiti prebrati oceno tega izdelka v slovenščini, lahko to najdete tukaj

So the company owns Martina Gebhardt and her company looks like a bigger version of house. So cool. Not one of those extremely large skin care brand. I liked her philosophy for her products. She said that her products contain only those ingredients that are necessary and that complement each other to create the special, magical essence that exceeds the sum of its individual components.

This tonic is supposed to refresh, tone especially sensitive skin, prone to inflammation. It cleans, works as and astringent, regulates the amount of oiliness and improves skin's natural acid mantle.

Here is the ingredients list:

I haven't own that much tonics, but those that I did were either too full of alcohol or had some irritating ingredients in it. This one feels really nice on the skin. It's a fluid that I spread all over my face with a cotton pad. The smell of it is very subtle, nothing special or characteristic about it. It feels very hydrating, but not greasy in any form. It makes my skin feel like a layer of moisture has been put on. It doesn't tighten the skin or makes it irritated. Very good for sensitive skin or skin prone to irritations. I also find that it cleans the last of my makeup and it moisturizes nicely. It also feels very soothing. I use it in the morning after cleansing and in the evening.

I guess this is one of those products good for if you want a thin layer of moisture and are a bit lazy. Because this is extremely easy to use and it does makes the skin hydrated.

It comes in a glass bottle in a spray form. I bought 30 ml version for 9.89 €, which is not cheap but not overly expensive either. You can also buy it in the 100 ml version.

Review: Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser

Hey Beauties!

As promised here is a review of one of the products that I purchased on Ecco Verde. If you want to know more about that you can read it here.

Za vse, ki želite mnenje v slovenščini, si lahko preberete moje mnenje o izdelku tukaj

While browsing through the online store I couldn't help but not noticed Pai. This is a brand that formulates products with sensitive and allergy-prone skin in mind. Perfect for me! Their slogan is Pai organic solutions for sensitive skin. The product that stood out to me was the Dual Action Facial Cleanser & Eye Make-up Remover.

It says: Pai Camellia & Rose Hydrating Cleansing Cream gently removes dirt, make-up and other impurities that build on the skin throughout the day. Bursting with Omega 3 and Vitamins A, B & E, it replenishes the skin's moisture barrier, leaving it soft and supple. Suitable for all sensitive skin types, the Pai Hydrating Cleanser is detergent and alcohol-free, so won't dry out or irritate skin. It is designed for use around the eyes to remove even waterproof mascara.

Here you can see the ingredients list, which is impressing in my opinion. Especially when you go to the drugstore and look at those ingredients lists, this one seems to be a breath of fresh air.

Now what do I think about it? I think it's amazing. Especially for my sensitive a-lot-of-times irritated skin. Most of cleansers irritate my skin and leave red spots on my face. Sometimes accompanied by itchiness. This cleanser didn't do any of that.

The product comes in a plastic tube with a pump system. Very hygienic. One pump is enough for the entire face. The texture seems to be a mixture of a cream and a foam. Something in between. But once you start putting it on a damp skin it becomes very slippery or even greasy. Not like butters, but pretty greasy, which of course helps with the cleansing a lot. After you take it of with a muslin cloth or water it leaves on your skin a really nice moisturizing layer. And I'm not thalking anything greasy, like my Balea Med does - which I have figured out since using this one, but just a layer that gives your skin back the moisture. The skin doesn't feel dry or tight at all. I love the feeling of it. I also love the smell. I can't explain what it smells of, but it's very light almost soothing smell. It reminds me of a sweet chamomile.

Now as far as makeup removing capabilities goes I kind of don't entirely agree with Pai. I have tried to remove my eye makeup and it did a brilliant job with the Maybelline Color Tattoo, however not the same with mascara. I personally can't imagine using a cleanser to remove my eye makeup, because I am so used to using Bioderma or any kind of water for that.  As far as waterproof makeup goes, I haven't tried, because I don't wear waterproof makeup. Now foundations... I tried removing my foundation with it, but not the best. The lines around my nose or in between brows, that's where the foundations got stuck and I couldn't remove it. What I am saying is, a light coverage makeup might go away with just using this cleanser, however anything heavier I wouldn't recommend. I was surprised that while putting it on my eyes it did not irritate my eyes at all. Thumbs up for that!

I use this cleanser in the morning and in the evening after removing my makeup. And for that it is brilliant. I find that it soothes my skin and I never get any red spots. I swear my skin feels less irritated since using all of the products combined, which I have purchased on Ecco Verde.

I got a 50 ml version, but you can get also 100 and 200 ml. 50 ml version costs 17.99 €. Not the cheap cleanser, but worth it if you really struggle to find something for sensitive skin. I would also recommend this to anyone with dry skin. I think it would be perfect for those, because dry skin can also be irritated because of the dryness.

I'll admit it is more expensive product from what I usually use, but if I can invest in a good hair mask, I'll probably be investing in this too, since my skin is a bit demanding and it's hard to find a product that works.

Have you tried any of the Pai skin products? Do you like this brand?

Ecco Verde Purchase

Hey Beauties!

I had the opportunity to buy some products from Ecco Verde and I grabbed the chance, right away. I admit I have not been buying from them before, but I did have my eye on their online store before. When I saw that they had the entire section for neurodermatitis, I couldn't hide my excitement.

Ok, little story from the past for anyone who's interested. Who's not, skip this section. Basically I was diagnosed with neurodermatitis when I was 4 years old. It was difficult in that time, because there was no cure, except cream full of corticosteroids, which are pretty bad for you long term and actually make skin thinner. My problem was I was allergic to everything form food, to dust, animals so on. I scratched my skin so much, that it started bleeding. So I constantly had scabs. I won't go into detail that of course I had a very low self-esteem because of that. I did get a new doctor in seventh grade and a new cream, which changed my life. As you may see from the photos now, my skin looks great (well, you have nothing to compare to - but believe me it beats the scabs!).

So... My skin is combination to oily and still very sensitive. My allergy still shows in forms of irritations and occasional red spots on my skin. Many products don't work for me, because they irritate my skin and I get redness and sometimes even itchiness. BUT, I have for you some products that did work for my sensitive skin and I would love to share my experience with those products with you.

Ecco Verde gave me free hands to choose which ever products I wanted and I chose Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser, Martina Gebhardt Sheabutter Tonic and Dr. Sheller Jojoba Oil & Schisandra Soothing Intensive Serum. As a little treat I also bought Badgers Sleep Balm, because I do have trouble sleeping a lot of times.

Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser is amazing. I especially love the smell of it and the feeling that it leaves on the skin.

Martina Gebhardt Sheabutter Tonic is very hydrating. Not greasy at all, as shea butter might suggests.

Dr. Sheller Jojoba Oil & Schisandra Soothing Intensive Serum is my favorite products of them all. I never used oils before and now I'm definitely not going off this one. Amazing! Especially for sensitive skin.

Badger Sleep Balm is a fun product. Don't expect it to be a sleeping pill. It's more of a fun night treatment :).

I really liked all of the products and will do a separate post for each, to review it in depth. I guess all I can say is, if you're interested in any of these products keep an eye on my posts.

And big thank you to Ecco Verde for letting me chose some products in their online store. I didn't even know that, but they ship to many European countries. Their delivery was very quick, I think I got it the second day. I highly recommend them. They sell natural cosmetics and body care. I have to admit they have some great brands. Oh and can I just say, finally! One Slovenian online shop that actually has Paypal as an payment option. Yes, other Slovenian online stores, this is a good example for you!

Review: Catrice LE Lala Berlin Loves Catrice nail polish in 04 Oyster & Champagne

Hey Beauties!

Finally new Catrice LE. I was waiting for this one.I'm even more excited for the new range of products, which is supposed to come in February. I only got one of the products from this LE called Lala Berlin Loves Catrice and it was this Crushed Crystals nail polish that I really wanted.

It's called 04 Oysters & Champagne. I don't know how oysters look like, but champagne is gold yellow and I can see that in this nail polish. It' more of a top coat for my taste and it looks like lots of small glitter. The glitter in it is bigger patches of pink, small pink shimmer, small gold shimmer and small beige to white shimmer. I love it. It says it gives liquid sand effect and the effect is somewhat sand with the texture on the nails.

Here you can see how it looks like with one coat and two coats.

I do like it more with a some sort of a base. Here you can see how it looks like over a light white nail polish. I think it looks better as a top coat, then on it's own, but to each his own :).

Did you get any products from this LE?

Review: Catrice Longlasting Lip Pencil (040...And The Cherry On The Top and 030 Berryson Ford)

Hey Beauties!

Since I have been wearing deeper shades of lipstick, I really needed some matching lip pencils. Of course I went for the cheap ones from Catrice. They had the perfect selection of shades.

I bought two lip liners. One in a deep red shade called 040...And The Cherry On The Top and one in a berry more purple toned shade called 030 Berryson Ford.

030 Berryson Ford is a deeper berry shade. It  has that purple undertone. Perfect for purple toned berry lipstick shades.

Here's with an Essence Dark Romance lipstick in shade 01 Red Romance.

040...And The Cherry On The Top is a deeper red shade. Perfect under any dark red lipstick shade.

Here I put over the liner Avon Perfect Kiss lipstick in Racy Red.

An the last photo of both pencils and lipsticks on the top. The lip pencils are harder then Essence long lasting lip pencils and therefore more precise. I love the shade choices. The pencils are not great if you have dry patches on the lips as you may see on some of my photos. But that's probably with any lip pencil. It's very long lasting, but definitely not waterproof, as it says on the product. Because it is very long lasting expect staining of lips. But I do really like them.

There's 0.78 grams of product and it costs only 2.29€.

Conclusion: long lasting, not waterproof, great shade choices, pretty hard texture.

Have you tried any of the Catrice long lasting lip liners?

Review: Alverde Body Butter Berries Dream

Hey Beauties!

Winter is time for moisturizing the skin. I admit, I don't do it as often as I should, but in the winter I am a good girl. It's probably the only time of the year when I realize I need to buy some body creams, lotions, butters or whatever.

I was standing in the store trying to decide what to put on my body. Deciding between Alverde berries butter and cocoa butter and I went for the berries. It was closed so I couldn't smell it - don't you just hate that? The smell is supposed to smell like berries - blueberries, strawberries and raspberries, which are on the packaging. So, I went for it.

Let's start with the good things first. I love the consistency. It's completely white, has a texture of a heavier cream and once you start massaging it in, it has that buttery feel to it. The butter is white once you start massaging it in and when you really massage it in all the way, it becomes transparent or it vanishes. I like that it feels moisturizing and buttery but not greasy at all. I have been using natural butters and I know how greasy they are. This is a nice mixture of a body cream and body butter.

The bad thing? I am not crazy about the smell. It's just not right. Sort of sour and somewhat weird. I can't explain. It doesn't smells like berries to me at all. But I can handle the smell, since I find it to be great otherwise. Plus the smell is not overpowering like in some lotions, so that's also nice.

The packaging is plastic round pot with a screw on top. I admit I like tubes better. It contains 200 ml of product and costs 3.25 €.

What's your favorite product for the body?

Soft pink makeup

Hey Beauties!

So lately all I've been putting on my blog are reviews. What can I say, I got a lot of stuff for Christmas and my birthday and I also couldn't resist a lot of online sales. So more reviews of products are still coming. But this time I wanted to put a little makeup look in between those. I hope you like it ;)

I did a very soft pink almost rose inspired makeup look. Pink is one of those colors that I am somewhat afraid of using. Especially on the eyes. I think I'm not the only one. It seems hard to pull it off if you're skin is more warm toned. But I put it together with warm browns and kind of like it right now. You decide for yourself.

For the eyes I mixed two pink shades for all over the lid. I mixed one light pink, which had a peach undertone and a bright fuchsia pink. Then I went in the crease with a warm toned light brown matte shade. In the outer corner I put violet toned brown shade.

I also put the violet brown shade on the lower lid. In the inner corner of the eye I used light pink gel liner and smudged it. Then I used black gel liner and created a really thin liner with just a little wing on the outside corner. Finished with lots and lots of mascara.

On the face I only used liquid pearl highlighter on the tops of the cheeks and a bit on the cheeks as well. I also put on a warm toned pink blush.

On the lips I used light shimmery warm toned pink lipstick and later on some of the photos also topped it of with a bit of pink lip gloss mixture.

And that's my finished pretty soft pink look.
Let me know what you think.  Do you use pink eye shadow?

Eyes:
all over the lid - 88 Coastal Scents shimmer palette (mixed two pinks together, one light peach toned and one fuchsia pink)
crease - Avon True Color Quad in Mocha Latte (shade 2)
outer corner and lower lid - violet brown from Catrice LE Eve in Bloom 02 Beauty Bouquet
inner corner - Avon Super Shock gel eyeliner in Flash
Essence Gel Eyeliner in 01 Midnight in Paris
Bourjois Twist Up the Volume mascara

Face:
Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation
MAC Studio Finish concealer
Revlon Colorstay concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte powder
L'Oreal Lumi Magique pure light primer (as highlighter)
Artdeco Mineral Blusher in 24 PInk

Lips:
Maybelline Hydra Extreme in 600 Precious Petal
lip gloss - mixed together Essence Stay With Me in 02 My Favorite Milkshake and Avon Perfect Kiss in Mauve Kiss

Review: Maybelline Colorama blush in 101

Hey Beauties!

I saw these blushes in the store so many times and never took a second look. Until I saw them on some blogs. I only have 3 powder blushes, so I am starting to realize I should buy more blushes not nail polishes :).

I bought this light peach Maybelline Colorama blush in the shade 101. It's a light peach to pink shade with gold shimmer. The packaging is plastic black and transparent. The blush is really small, great to carry around. It doesn't say on the packaging how much blush it contains. It costs 2.89 €, which I think is a great price.

When I swatched it, I got almost no color, just the shimmer. It swatches very light, but you can definitely build up the color. I like it, because I am used to pigmented blushes and this one seems to be a nice change. To just get a little flush of color is refreshing.

The shimmer in it is gold, so perfect for warm skin tones or anyone who wants a nice gold glow to cheeks. I actually think that it acts as a highlighting blush. I love the sheen and glow that it gives to the skin, but up close the shimmer is too big for my taste. I do like the overall effect, though. Oh and warning the shimmer can transfer to you boyfriend's face, so maybe not the best blush for cuddling :).

Now, if only blogger wouldn't blur most of my photos. Gosh! Do you have this problem too? I don't know how to get rid of blogger alternating my photos anytime I upload them. Maybe blogger compresses them, since they are really big. Anyways, here is how it looks like on me.

Conclusion: pretty fair shade for all those fair ladies, a bit too big shimmer, great because it gives a highlighting effect, not for those who want extremely pigmented matte blushes.

Have you tried any of the Maybelline Colorama blushes?
