I've recently posted a review of Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks. I also bought Airbrush Flawless Finish powder in 1 Fair while I got the lipsticks, so I had a good time to test it out on me and my clients. I think this is definitely one of the better powders, especially for slightly drier and mature skin.

Review: Catrice Spring/Summer 2021 Products
18 Jun 2021
Catrice has again revamped their stand in the start of spring, but I just came around testing all of these products properly. Here are my thoughts on which products are worth a try, if you're considering getting any. I love Catrice as a brand in general, some of their products are my favorites that I keep rebuying while others are a fail. But you really can't go wrong at that price range.
Review: Max Factor Makeup - Powder, Mascara, Lipstick
25 Aug 2019
A while ago, I received beautiful package with Max Factor makeup products. Special thing about it was that the lipstick had my name and surname engraved in the packaging. I never got any personalized makeup products like that before and I think it is so nice and special.
Review: L.O.V. PERFECTitude Aura Glow Powder
4 Dec 2018
Obviously I am easily impressed with highlighters, but I have so many of them, that I know a good highlight when I see it. And this one by L.O.V. named PERFECTitude Aura Glow Powder is an absolute drugstore winner. I am so in love with it and can't put it down ever since I got it.
Review: Misslyn Beach Please! Bronzing & Contouring Powder - 51 Holiday Hooray!
3 May 2017
As much as I love buying highlighters, I forget to invest in bronzers. And I use bronzers just as much as highlighters. Every single day. When I saw this new range of bronzers, highlighter and blusher by Misslyn, it looked so promising and pretty. The packaging immediately reminded me of the vintage vibe by theBalm. It helped that the bronzers were on sale, so I gave it a go.
It comes in a cardboard packaging with magnetic closing. The girl on the packaging is tanned and depending on which shade you get, that's how tanned she looks. The whole design is vintage and tropical. It definitely gives me that same vintage vibe that theBalm has. Coincidence?!
In it is 6 grams of product and it costs 5.59€.
I chose the lightest shade called 51 Holiday Hooray! It looked the lightest and also the only shade that had just a hint of gray in it. It's more noticeable in the packaging than it is on my skin.
The shade is warm toned, but it has a hint of grayness to it, which is not as visible on the skin as it is in the packaging. If you're cool toned, this would be too warm for you. On my skin it works great. It's appropriate for light skin tone. If you're very fair, it might end up looking too dark on you. The shade also has a bit of sheen. There's no actual visible shimmer in it, it just doesn't look powdery flat matte. I like that bit of sheen, because it looks more natural.
Pigmentation is amazing and I always use fluffy brush with it to prevent too much color payoff. If you apply it lightly, it looks lighter. You can definitely build it up to a darker color.
Formula is not too dry, but also not buttery wet. It applies smooth, but you do need to be careful not to make it appear patchy on the skin. If you start with fluffy brush and slowly build it up, it's better than if you go in with a lot of color at once. I find that this way it can look a bit patchy as it grabs onto the base.
Bronzers are usually the first to fade from my skin, but this one has a good staying power. It definitely fades through the day, but it's still noticeable and looks even in the evening.
I compared it to my other bronzer shades, which I don't have a lot anyway. Compared to others Misslyn actually looks a bit red toned, but it has that typical orange undertone in it too. It's also the darkest - except the Betty-Lou Manizer. I recently also purchased Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in the shade Bronzer (the review will be up soon). Physicians is more yellow toned and has a lot more visible sheen with tiny shimmer particles. It's also slightly lighter. Kiko Flawless Fusion Bronzer Powder in 01 Natural Tan is as dark as Physicians, even warmer and has more of yellow peachy undertone. It also has that same sheen that Misslyn has. theBalm Betty-Lou Manizer is the darkest of these all and is as shimmery as a proper highlighter. In fact this is a highlighter for dark skin tones, but on me it's like a shimmery orange golden bronzer.
I wanted to show you my skin with foundation, concealer and powder (left) and then I also added bronzer (right). Bronzer instantly makes my skin warmer and it gives it more color. The shade turns out pretty warm on my light warm skin tone and it actually looks nice.
For the price, this is a very descent bronzer. I like the color, because it suits my warm skin tone. It has natural sheen that doesn't make it look too muddy. It's definitely not a contour powder, but you can use bronzer to do a light contour, although the shade is definitely a bronzer shade. I find that you have to be careful with the application, especially to use a fluffy brush, because matte powders can quickly look patchy. It blends out well and it has a good staying power. I'm actually even more in love with Physicians Bronzer now, but that one has even more sheen. Misslyn might be better for summer, as shimmery powders can make me look too oily. Based on the selection of bronzers in out drugstores, this is definitely a good choice, if the color suits your skin tone.

Review: Kiko Radiant Fusion Baked Powder (01) / Flawless Fusion Bronzer Powder (01)
12 Nov 2016
Kiko is one of those brands that tends to do a lot of good products at a more affordable prices. I feel like they are trying to copy quality of high end brands, but still make the prices affordable. When I saw their Radiant Fusion Baked Powders on the internet and heard some say that they look similar to Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders, I was intrigued. It definitely looked similar. Because I liked powder so much, I also bought bronzer. To be honest, I have very little powders and bronzer, so I easily justified the purchase.
Kiko Radiant Fusion Baked Powder - 01 Ivory
Packaging is very elegant and can easily match up to high end brands. It has a silver plastic packaging that has a mirrored look. It has magnetic closing which is so satisfying. I don't know if it's just me, but magnetic closing screams luxury to me. I admit I've been playing with it, opening and closing it. Don't judge!
In it is 10 grams of product and it costs 12.90€. You can choose among 6 different shades.
It's a mineral baked formula with a luminous finish. You would think that it has a very dry formula, but it actually feels slightly wet. Especially when you apply it on the skin with fingers, you get almost a bit creamy feeling.
If you look really closely, you'll see that it has tiny shimmer in the formula. This gives the powder a lovely luminous feel. It doesn't look shiny in any way, it just gives you a very slight sheen to the skin. I'd say it's a satin like luminous finish.
Kiko Flawless Fusion Bronzer Powder - 01 Natural Tan
Bronzer has the same plastic silver packaging with magnetic closing. The only difference is that this packaging is flatter, because it's not a baked product and it doesn't have that 3D look. That's why the packaging is also a bit flatter.
In it is 12 grams of product and it costs 10.90€. They have a range of 6 shades to choose from.
They call it bronzer for an even-looking complexion. This is again one of those not too dry, but also not wet formulas. It has a bit of wetness to it.
The finish is satin. It doesn't look flat out matte, because it has just a bit of that natural sheen. I actually like that. Matte can look very powdery and flat and I also don't like shimmery bronzers - only for the summer.
I chose both products in their lightest shades - 01. Usually, I am in the lightest shades anyway and I did tried the shades in the store. Some say that powder oxidizes and that you should get a lighter shade. It definitely doesn't look as fair on the skin as it does on the swatch, so take this into consideration when buying. It might just be that it settles in your foundation and kind of disappears. Which is true in my case.
Radiant Fusion Baked Powder in 01 Ivory is very light, almost transparent kind of shade. It has just a tiny bit of yellow tone to it. I don't think this will play a huge role on cool skin tones, but if you have a lot of pink in your skin, you might want to try it out in the store first. I am really happy with this shade. It's perfect for my skin tone in cooler months and it blends well with my foundations.
Flawless Fusion Bronzer Powder in 01 Natural Tan looks sort of neutral in the pan, but on me it's actually very warm toned with yellow undertone. The more you apply, the warmer it looks. If you have cool skin tone, stay away from this shade. You'd be better with a bit pinkier or redish undertones.
I compared Kiko powder to Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent. They are both very light, but Rimmel is slightly lighter and more white based. Kiko's has a bit of yellow undertone. It's not too visible on the face, but it does look strong on my heavy swatch. It's just slightly warm toned.
Kiko bronzer I compared to my second favorite - Essence LE Light of Orient Bronzer in 01 Sunkissed Beauty. Essence's has visible satin sheen to it, while Kiko's doesn't seem to be as shiny, but it's also not completely matte. Essence's is also slightly more red toned and even a bit more greyish, while Kiko's is definitely yellow warm toned and more on the orange side. But if you apply it lightly, it's not too warm. theBalm Betty-Lou Manizer is the darkest of these all and obviously the most shimmery and shiny. It's also really warm toned and very much orange like.
I also wanted to show you how these look like on the skin. Here is my face with foundation and concealer.
You can see that this powder sets foundation and takes off a bit of that shine, but doesn't look too flat. It doesn't mattify the skin though the day, it's just for setting. Shade is lighter than most of my foundations, but it sort of acts as a transparent powder and blends with my foundation. I didn't notice it becoming darker, but it also isn't as light on the face as in the packaging. It has a satin luminous finish and feels a bit powdery, so I wouldn't pile it on, because it can look cakey. I don't find it to be long lasting. It fades through the day.
It's perfect for those of you who just want to set foundation, but don't want to matte it down. It will still give you a very natural luminous look to the skin. Since I have combination skin, I love this powder for colder months, because then my skin gets a lot drier. I absolutely adore this sheen that it gives to the skin. In the summer this looks very dewy and almost greasy on me, because I have a lot oilier skin.
Here you can see how it looks like applied all over my face.
It also doesn't seem to emphasize my pores and it doesn't look flat. As you can see, you also don't get any visible shimmer.
Here I lightly applied bronzer. It's on the sheerer side, but it's buildable. You can really go from a very light application and light color to a more intense and darker looking bronzer. It has a satin finish which looks really natural. The staying power is weak. It fades through the day and doesn't have the same intensity on my face at the end of the day. It may even totally disappear by the evening.
Here is me with powder and bronzer.
And that is how the whole look looks like after I've applied blush, highlighter and lipsticks.
Packaging of both is just stunning and feels luxurious. Powder does in fact give you a radiant, lovely luminous, finish to the skin. It's perfect for those of you with drier skin or those of you who don't want powders to look matte on top of your foundations. If you're oily, you'll probably hate it.
I love the shade of bronzer and the fact that you can build it up from a very sheer and light shade to a more intense look. If you have very cool skin tone, stay away from it, because it's pretty warm toned. Staying power is weak and it might be the only downside for both of these products. But textures are lovely and it looks good, so I sort of forgive it.
Review: Diamond Beauty Puff 03 Aurora Face Whitening Loose Powder
30 Mar 2016
Hey Beauties!
Powders are one of those products that I can't do my makeup without and that I'm not really fussy about. I know glowy strobbed skin is in, but I have oily T-zone, so I always powder that area. Today's review is of a loose powder that should have whitening effect on your skin. It's by brand Diamond Beauty and it's called Puff 03 Aurora Face Whitening Loose Powder.
It comes in a white simple paper box. The product itself is in a transparent plastic pot with plastic black shiny lid. The lid has Diamond Beauty written on it and on the i it's a little rhinestone to represent the diamond. I find that super pretty.
The packaging is huge, it contains 30 grams of powder and costs around 18€. You can buy it here.
The packaging comes sealed with sticker. It has powder puff with which you can pat the product on your face. It also has small holes on the top lid through which you can shake the product out. Powder goes through the holes with ease.
Powder is very finely milled and has pale yellow toned shade. If you look up close, you'll see small shimmer particles in it. This is because I chose the shade 03 Aurora Face, which is supposed to be whitening powder.
Let me just firstly say, that I didn't know the product will contain shimmer. I went for this one, because I thought it must be the lightest shade, because it says whitening. You can also choose among two others which are 01 Princess Face (semi-matte) and 02 Dolly Face (matte).
It has a bit of wet consistency, which blends well into the skin. It definitely mattifies any shine and on me the shade turns into nothing. It's lighter than my skin tone, but because I put light layer on the face, it doesn't seem too light. I find the finish matte. The shimmery particles in powder should brighter and whiten your face.
It has no smell.
I can't say how efficient it is in actually brightening the face, but since it is so light, it does create a bit of a lighter base where I use it as opposed to where I don't.
Now onto the shimmer, which is my biggest problem with this powder. You almost can't detect it in natural lighting unless you come very close to the skin. I also tried to apply it all over my face and took a photo with flash. You'll see all these comparisons on a photo down below. I don't see much difference. Obviously with flash my skin looks a bit more radiant and less flat, which could be because of the shimmery particles in the powder.
Shimmer is a problem for me in the sun. It pops out and it's definitely seen under harsh sunlight, which means I wouldn't wear this on a sunny day or at least not all over the face. If you look at my skin on the sun, you still won't see it as shimmery, because again from a safe distance it doesn't really show up.
You can click on the photo to see it in full size. From left to right: skin with foundation and concealer, but no powder; powder all over my face in natural lighting (shade); skin with powder under a flash and skin with powder in the harsh sunlight.
The shimmer just seems to bother me too much to actually wear it all over my face. I like to use it under my eyes, because I have a feeling that it reflects a bit of light and it lifts the shadows.
On the left side is my skin without the powder and on the right one is with the powder.
Here you can also see how it looks like up close. Shimmer in natural light and on sunlight.
The powder definitely leaves a powdery finish on the skin, especially if you apply it with the puff. I did that as it was just so enjoyable to pat that puff all over my face - you know like in old school movies. With puff you get a much stronger payoff and it looks powdery, while with fluffy brush you can apply it lightly and make it less obvious. It doesn't look cakey, because it is finely milled. It lasts well on my skin, I would say for about half a day. Later the oil will show through. Keep in mind that I have combination skin and I only get oily on my T-zone.
This is a good powder. It's finely milled, it mattifies, looks a bit powdery, but doesn't get cakey. Shimmer particles do reflect a bit of light on the face therefore lifting the shades, but the effect is very slight. It's more because the shade of powder is light that makes it looks whitening on the skin. My only problem with it is the shimmer in it, which stops me from using it all over my face. This is obviously my fault, because I didn't research the product well enough before I selected it. I would say, if you're like me and you hate shimmery powders, go for the other two. You get a huge amount for the price and a very nicely milled powder.
I already reviewed Diamond Beauty Eyeliner in 01 Forever Black, which is one of my favorite eyeliners now. I was really impressed with it. Both products are from online store Japan Skin, which has a lot of famous Japanese makeup brands at an affordable prices. Check them out, if you've always wanted to try some Asian makeup products. Also leave me some suggestions of other online shops that sell Asian makeup, I am in this stage of obsessing over Asian skin care and makeup.

My Face and Eye Makeup Wish List
4 Dec 2015
Hey Beauties!
Makeup is my most sought for purchase and I love browsing through makeup stores. I am one of those people that admires certain products, but I won't purchase a lot of them, because let's face it, I have a lot of makeup as it is. Today I'll be sharing some products that I won't buy myself, but would like to get or are too expensive for my current budget. If you love makeup as much as I do and you have similar taste, I might give you some ideas for your next purchases. Here is my first section of makeup wish list and it's eye and face products.
Stila Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette - Soul
This is a very basic neutral eye shadow palette. The price makes it unreachable for me at the moment, but it's one of those rare palettes that I think I would love. The quality is supposed to be amazing and the packaging is just stunning with gold metal lid. As much as I love colors on my eyes, I wish to have at least one good quality neutral palette.
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow - Light to Medium
Who doesn't want to get Charlotte Tilbury makeup? Any true makeup lover is lusting or buying it. I would say get me her whole range, if you have too much money, but I really really wish for that bronzer and highlighter duo. Charlotte is known for being the creative mind behind all makeup industry leading brands and you can count on her for making good quality products. Bronzer and highlighter is one of my very loved products and I'm sure that her version is mind blowing. The packaging is again high end and stunning.
MAC Pigment - Vanilla
Mateja got me tester of this and I love it so much, that it's sitting in my drawer, because I'm afraid to use it. It's super pretty pink gold duo chrome pigment, which a lot of makeup enthusiasts use as a highlighter. I would do the exact same thing. It's just such a unique shade and it's still very light for all your fair toned ladies.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Limited Edition
If you're a highlighter lover, you already know about Hourglass ambient lighting powders. It's probably one of the most popular and pretty holiday limited editions of this year. In one palette you get everything - powder, highlighter, blush and bronzer, all with illuminating properties. Again one of those high end products with stunning design and also pretty collectible product. I'll probably never get it, but I am allowed to dream, right?!
E.l.f. Shimmering Facial Whip - Golden Peach
I would use this as a cream blush. It has a very pretty golden peach shade to it and it can be used in multiple ways. On darker skins this might even be used as a highlighter. I just think the shades is super pretty and I love the glowy effect to it.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder - 02 Fair Matte
I first say this at Sara's and fell in love with it. I love the packaging and I really like the fair matte shade. It also has honeycomb embossed design. It's hard to find light bronzer with warm undertone. In general, it is pretty hard to find good, but still light matte bronzers, so I need this in my life.
Kiko Radiant Fusion Baked Powder - 01 Ivory
I like everything that Kiko does. Seriously. I think there's nothing that I don't like about this brand. Well there is one thing.. they still don't have a shop in Slovenia, why?! I would go nuts in there. I want this powder, because for some reason it reminds me of Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders. In description it says that it's a mineral baked powder with luminous finish. Sounds familiar right? Either way, it can't be bad.
Mememe Beat The Blues - Oyster Gold
If I can't have Benefit Sun Beam, I'll do with this one. You know I love highlighters and you knew they'll be in this wish list. I don't really have a liquid one yet and I really like champagne gold shade of this one, although I'm not sure if it would be too dark for my skin tone. The price is also not bad, at all.
La Roche-Posay Respectissime Volume Mascara
I've had their Lenght and Curl version and it was one of the best mascaras I've ever tried. Naturally, I would love to try their Volumizing version, but the price is out of my budget. It's also really hard to get a hold of their mascara's in our country. We don't even have a lot of them, while on their official site they have around 10 versions.
Makeup Geek Duochrome Eyeshadow Pan - Ritzy
Makeup Geek is another one of those affordable and good quality products that are hard to get. By that I mean that the shipping is too high and you we don't have a store nearby to even look at the eye shadows up close. I would probably get a lot of their eye shadows, but there are two shades in particular, that I would like to try out first. Ritzy is warm red brown with a gold and green sheen. It's one of those really interesting mix of shades.
Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow Pan - Flame Thrower
Flame Thrower couldn't be more typical me kind of shade. It's a true warm copper with foiled finish, which to me looks like a shimmery metallic shade.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - Fair
One of those products that is always talked about being great and that everyone owns except me. I don't have any particular explanation why I want it, I'm just a little curious, if it's really that great. It'a really hard to get a hold of in our country.
E.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzing Cream - St. Lucia
I have powder version and I really liked the bronzer shade and the fact that it's a little shimmery. Not that I'm a fan of cream products, but I would really like to try the cream version, since I like both shades and could give me an amazing natural look. E.l.f. products are also really affordable for anyone that's experimenting with different finishes and shades.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Opal Glow On The Go
Of course I am finishing this category with yet another highlighter, rather two of them. If there's one highlighter that I wish for the most, it's Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in shade Opal. In this travel size set you get powder and cream version. Opal is a very popular champagne gold shade. It's so pretty and I am seriously contemplating on buying this as a birthday gift from me to me. I just hope that they'll still have it by then.
I know, I am so humble, right?! A girl can dream. As you can see, I like a lot of different products. Some are really cheap and some are way out of my budget. I think you can find great products for different prices. Did I get your eyes to sparkle? What are some of the products that I mentioned and are also on your wish list?

Review: Essence LE Make Me Pretty Precise Eyeshadow and Powder & Highlight Brush
20 Aug 2015
Hey Beauties!
Apparently I need more brushes. Of course I don't. But, I actually bought only the ones, that I felt are missing in my collection. New LE of Essence called Make Me Pretty served us assortment of synthetic colorful brushes for different parts of the face.
I decided that I need the Powder & Highlight brush, because it was an interesting shape, that it's great for contouring and highlighting. I also got two of the Precise Eyeshadow brushes, because I always need something small like that. I only have one pencil brush in my collection.
Precise Eyeshadow Brush
In person this is a minty colored brush. It looks more blue on my photos. It has a pencil brush shape and it's in fact great for any precise work on eyes. It costs 1.99€.
The bristles are pretty long and soft. They are dense, but the brush still bends a lot if you try to use just the tip of it. They are mint colored.
I love to use this for two parts of the eye. One brush I use around the lower lash line. I use it horizontally on the lash line, because that way the bristles don't bend as much. I find that it gives me just enough of a shadow. It doesn't come too low from the lash line.
Other brush I love to use in the inner corner. I love how precise it is and the fact that I can place the eyeshadow just in the very inner corner.
This can obviously be used for any precise application. I also think this would be good for applying eyeshadow on top of the gel eyeliner or for applying some glitter and such.
It's good, but I only wish the bristles where a bit shorter, so that you could get more control of them. This goes for the application around the lower lash line. I find it great for the inner corner, just as it is.
Powder & Highlighting Brush
This is bright neon orange colored brush. It has a fan shape and it's a lot wider than it is thick. It's a bit more orange in person. It looks too yellow on my photos. It costs 3.59€.
The synthetic bristles are also bright orange color. They are very soft and I love that. That's why I love cheap synthetic brushes, because they are often extremely soft. The bristles are a bit tapered, forming a rounder top. The brush is very wide, but thin from the sides as you can see on the photo. This is perfect for highlighting and contouring. I'm not so sure about the powder.
I tried to use it with a powder and it was good, but I prefer rounder brushes for powder. This is good if you just want to slightly press the powder on certain areas.
It's good for highlighting the cheeks. The brush is just thin enough to fit on tops of the cheeks. It won't give you the precision of smaller brushes, but I find that it does a good job of blending the highlighter on the tops of cheeks. I won't use it on the nose, because it's to thick for that and I like smaller brushes for more precision.
I find it amazing for contouring. Because it's so thin it fits perfectly under the cheekbone. I just apply some of the product onto it and settle it under the cheeks. Then I just slightly brush it on and it's perfect. Thin enough, but can be blended towards the lips. I also use it around the hair line lightly and on the jaw. It' also perfect for sculpting your neck. Not the best for nose though, because it's too thick for that.
I'm happy with the brushes that I chose. I like that they are really soft and work for what I was planning on using them. The color and design of it is also really pretty. Those should be part of their regular line and maybe they should add some other shaped brushes to the line.
