Review: Revlon Photoready Candid Antioxidant Concealer - 015 Light

I loved Revlon Photoready Candid foundation, so when they came out with concealer I gave it a try, even though I didn't find my perfect shade match. It turns out I don't share the same love for both.

Review: Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Eraser Concealer - 00 Ivory

Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Eraser is somewhat of a cult drugstore product. It has been around for a really long time and it seems people still like its formula. I am one of those rare ones that has just tried it out right now.

Review: Catrice One Drop Coverage Weightless Concealer (003 Porcelain, 050 Bronze Beige)

Catrice came out with One Drop Coverage Weightless Concealer to match their Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation which I really like. I was intrigued by the pigmentation claims and dropper packaging. It's very hygienic and I see these concealers as covering drops for any part of makeup application.

Review: Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer - C1

It's been a while since I've been impressed with concealer. I was avoiding buying Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define concealer, because there was so much hype around it and for some reason I just didn't trust the quality. But when I saw it on sale and how affordable it was, I threw it in my basket. I haven't regretted it.

Review: Essence Melted Chrome Eyeshadow, Camouflage+ Matt Concealer and Soft Contouring Lipliner

I picked up some of the new products from Essence standard range and I've already had the chance to test them out, so here are my thoughts. I have to say, I picked well, because I like all of these products. If you don't know, Essence changes their standard range every spring and fall, so it's not the best idea to get attached to their products.

Review: The Saem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer - 01 Clear Beige

I've seen this concealer on Mateja's blog and I already read some great reviews of it when I was researching out about Korean makeup. It seems to be cult favorite in Korea and after I've tried it out, I can see why.

Review: Look by Bipa Matte Camouflage Concealer - 010 Light

I think we are always searching for that perfect foundation or concealer. I definitely do. It's hard to come by a very light concealer shade in our drugstores which mostly sell products for medium skin tones. That's why I am so happy to share with you my new find. Look by Bipa Matte Camouflage Concealer is my new favorite concealer.

Packaging

It comes in a transparent matte packaging with silver details. It closes nicely and the product doesn't spill around the closing.

In it is 7 ml of product and it costs 3.25€. You can buy it in Bipa stores in Austria and Croatia. I don't know where else you can find Bipa drugstores.

It has a doe foot applicator that holds enough product for a light application. I usually dip in one more time, if I want more coverage under the eyes as well as on the face. Applicator is fluffy and is my favorite way of applying concealer, because it's precise

Formula

It has a thicker formula that has a nice creaminess to it and it spreads with ease. You can really blend it out, because it doesn't dry too fast and has an emollient base to it. When it dries down it has a matte finish with a more natural sheen. I wouldn't say it's deadly matte.

It has great pigmentation. It has a high medium coverage, but not completely full. I've tried it on my boyfriend's tattoos and it doesn't cover them, so it's not a full coverage in my book. But you can definitely use it to cover up pimples and redness.

Performance

It needs a bit of time to dry down completely, which is nice, because it allows you to spread it and blend it out. Once it dries down, it doesn't move. I use this under the eyes as well and don't have a problem with it creasing. I also always set it with a light touch of powder as I do with all concealers.

In general it has a descent lasting power. It stays on my under eye for the whole day, just fades a bit. It only disappears on my oily parts, which is the usual for me with most of my concealers.

I didn't see it looking weird over dry parts of my face, but consider that it's a matte formula and if you have very dry flaky skin, it might look too drying on you. I don't have a problem with it, not even under the eyes that is generally drier than the rest of my face.

Color

Bipa has this concealer only in two shades - 010 and 020. Both shades are suited for fair to light skin tones, so there isn't any variety of shades for someone that is darker than NC20 to NC25.

010 Light is a neutral fair shade. It doesn't have yellow undertone in it, but it also isn't pink. It seems pretty neutral, but it dries down to a slight peachy undertone. It oxidizes on my hands, but doesn't do that on my face. Oxidation on my hands happens to me with most of concealers, but it doesn't affect the wear of them on my face. I think this shade will be suitable for fair to light skin tones that want something neutral. I have a warm skin tone, but can get away with wearing it, because my skin is generally very light in colder months and I like a bit of a highlighted look that you can create with concealer.

Comparison

I also did a comparison with some other concealer shades that I own. Look by Bipa Matte Camouflage Concealer in 010 Light is the most neutral looking out of all of these. It doesn't have any prominent undertone and it's also the lightest shade. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 Fair is just very slightly darker and has more of a peach undertone in it which is noticeable upon the first application. Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer in 005 Light Natural is the most yellow toned shade, but also very light. Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer in 010 Porcellain is slightly darker and looks much more brown than all the other shades. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC15 is also more of a yellow toned shade, but not as yellow as 005 by Catrice - but still light.

Closest Dupe

In terms of formula it's very similar to Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Collection is just slightly thicker and it's not as spreadable. It also dries down a lot faster, so you don't have a lot of play time with it. Shades are not that similar. Collection seems a bit more peach toned and just slightly darker. But in general, the coverage is very similar. I can't pinpoint which one has better coverage. If you're looking for something similar to Collection Lasting Perfection, this is it. It might be easier to get for some of you, as the Collection is almost impossible to get your hands on here.

I wanted to show you how well it covers my under eye area. I have a light skin tone which means you can see more of my veins and discoloration that is underneath the skin's surface. My under eyes area is not too dark, but needs covering and with this concealer I can do that quickly without needing to layer and cake it on too much. I also love the fact that it is so light, because I can almost highlight my under eyes with it.

I also use it over the blemishes, because it covers well and to cover my sallowness around the mouth or any other red patches on the face.

I think this is one of the best drugstore concealers, because it has good coverage and fairly descent staying power. I also love the fact that it's so light in color, because most of our drugstore concealers are too dark for light or fair skin tones and you can't really highlight with them. It has a matte finish with a slight sheen, but it still doesn't look too cakey or drying. The price is very affordable and if you can get it, I highly recommend you to try it out. I only advise you to stay away from it, if you have very dry flaky skin. It might make you look even drier.

Catrice Liquid Camouflage is one of my favorites, but I've just been reaching for this one more ever since I got it. It has better coverage and is even lighter in shade, which is perfect for colder months. But if you have dry skin, you might prefer Catrice one.

Review: L.O.V. Makeup Brushes (EVENelegance, HIGHLYconfidential and LIPlure)

You might have noticed a new brand in our drugstores. Actually, it's not that new anymore. It's called L.O.V. and it's a more luxury brand sister of Essence and Catrice. I haven't tried anything from them so far, but I got a few brushes to test out. The brand offers a variety of makeup products for all parts of the face and in May they also added makeup brushes to their range. They also have some Limited Edition seasonal products, although not as often as Essence and Catrice.

I got their LIPlure Lip Brush, HIGHLYconfidential Concealer Brush and EVENelegance Foundation Brush. The names are quite fun to read. All of these come in a black boxes with gold details and a transparent plastic corner that let's you see what's inside.

The brushes have a black handle and gold (with a hint of rose) design that is simplistic. I like it. The bristles on all brushes are black, synthetic and in general quite soft.

All the brushes have a L.O.V. printed at the end of the handle. All I'm missing is names of the brushes on actual handles. Now I'll probably forget what they're named.

L.O.V. EVENelegance Foundation Brush

This is a basic straight cut buffing brush for your foundation. It's actually my favorite type of brush for foundation. I love short bristles, which are usually denser and you can really buff the foundation in or thin it out.

It reminds me a lot of Essence LE Bloom Me Up! blush brush which was my favorite for a while (and has started to fall apart). I bought a fake Zoeva 104 Buffer Rose Golden Vol.2 which also has a similar shape. But the difference with both is that these all have longer hairs and less density.

The bristles in this foundation brush are black, short and quite dense which makes it good for really buffing the foundation into the skin. By tapping it you can get a fuller coverage, but in general it's great for sheering out the coverage by really buffing it into the skin in circular motion.

It can leave stripes on your face, if you don't make sure to blend it out well. I usually buff it in and then use a tapping motion to go over those areas that can look a bit undone.

This is one of my favorite brushes from all three. It just makes it really easy to apply foundation and I like that it has dense hair, so it's easier to really spread it into the skin. I also sometimes use it to blend out concealer, since it's not too big.

It costs 9.99€.

L.O.V. HIGHLYconfidential Concealer Brush

I will say that I am not too keen on concealer brushes in general. For some reason I feel like I can blend concealer better with sponge or just my fingers under the eyes.

This one has a short round cut bristles that are a bit denser, but can still blend the product fairly well. I love to use it with cream concealers. I usually apply my Catrice Camouflage Cream in Wake Up Effect with it, because it picks up just enough of that creamy product and it sheers it out under my eyes, so I don't have a thick base under my usual concealer.

For blending out liquid concealers this can look a bit unblended. I find that the bristles move the product around, but don't actually make it blend into the skin. The bristles may be a bit too stiff for blending. I like to apply concealer with it and spread it, but I blend it in with my fingers.

It's small enough that it fits well into smaller parts of the face like inner corners of the eyes, around the nose and such. I like that I can apply light layer of concealer in my very inner corner of the eye, which is usually dark and harder to reach with finger or sponge.

It costs 7.99€.

L.O.V. LIPlure Lip Brush

This brush looks pointed on that first photo. The bristles were a bit stuck together, because they were new. On the bottom photo you can see that it actually has rounded tip of the bristles. It's quite short, but just long enough to glide around the edges of the lip. The bristles are densely packed together which gives you a good coverage.

I actually love the shape of it. Usually, I've had straight cut lip brushes which were harder to apply lipstick on the actual cupid's bow. Some brushes have round tips as well, but they are too thin. This one is just wide enough for you to get a really nice rounded out edge

It doesn't give you full on coverage at first. You have to go over it with a brush a few times. I love the fact that you can really sheer the lipstick out with it, especially on the edges. I don't really use a lip liner with most of my lipsticks. The slightly sheered out effect on the edges of the lips, makes the application look a lot more modern and effortless.

It costs 6.99€

Here you can see how my face looked like after I applied most of my products with these brushes.

I've cleaned all the brushes a few times and didn't experience any fallout of the bristles, except one that was sticking out of foundation brush. But it might just be a faulty one. In general, if you dry them upside down and make sure to not keep them on hot surfaces, all brushes should keep their bristles. Unless the glue is really crappy.

I also got this lovely promotional gift and it was L.O.V. fragrance which is sadly not for sale. It comes in a transparent glass bottle with black and red details. A good size to travel with.

It has a very soft floral scent to it and it reminds me of some perfume that I must have already smelled, but I can't figured out which one. Unfortunately, I am of no use at figuring out the notes by myself. But it's very subtle, gentle and kind of smells floral.

To be honest, I didn't expect these brushes to be any good. For some reason I think black brush bristles are tough and scratchy. Don't ask me where I got that idea - maybe because cheaper brands had these kind of brushes a very long time ago. But these L.O.V. brushes are quite nice. I am loving foundation brush and recommend it to those that like to sheer out the coverage of thicker foundations or just want something that applies makeup really quickly. The concealer brush was a bit meh. I like it, there's nothing that much wrong with it, but I just use it more with cream concealers, as it blends those out better. For liquids I still prefer fingers or sponge. I also really liked lip brush. In my opinion it has that perfect shape that makes applying lipstick on the edges so much easier.

In Slovenia you can buy L.O.V. products in Müller. In Germany you can get products online here

Review: Essence Camouflage Full Coverage Concealer - 05 Ivory

I've been loving Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer. It's my favorite concealer. It covers well, is not too drying and has a good staying power. When I saw that Essence made something that looked exactly the same to Catrice's, I had to try it out. Here are my thoughts on it.

It's called Essence Camouflage Full Coverage Concealer. It comes in a plastic transparent lip gloss packaging. The top is orange. It's slightly bulkier than Catrice's version.

In it is 5 ml of product and I think it costs a bit under 3€ (I've forgotten to write the price down).

It has doe foot applicator that holds a bit of product, but I always have to go back into the tube for more, when I do my whole face. The applicator is fluffy and works nice.

I got it in the lightest shade called 05 Ivory and it's fairly neutral shade. It actually looks slightly pink and slightly peachy all in one, although on me it still turns more warmer than cool. It's a light shade, but it oxidizes on my hands. It does not oxidize on the skin. This shade will suit fair and light skin tones.

I also compared it to my other concealers. Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer in 005 Light Natural is slightly darker and has a very obvious yellow undertone. Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer in 010 Porcellain is the darkest and looks more neutral. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 Fair is just a tad lighter than Essence and has a bit more pinkish tone to it. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC15 is also yellow toned and slightly darker, but not as yellow as 005 Light Natural.

On the photo below they've all oxidized a little. MAC is the only one that doesn't seem to oxidize. I don't notice oxidation on the face itself, just on my hands when I swatch them.

Formula is creamy and almost seems to be a bit like a mousse. It has good pigmentation, but goes on a bit more sheer. Coverage is light to medium. You can build it up to a medium coverage and I find that it doesn't look cakey. If you apply it heavily, it can cover red patches and pimples. It also covers slightly colored under eye area, although it doesn't eliminate it completely.

It's also a bit moisturizing, but doesn't slide all over the place. I prefer a bit of moisture to the concealer, especially for under the eyes. Matte formulas tend to grab into fine lines and make them look worse. This one is great for under the eyes. It doesn't crease.

It has an average staying power. Under my eyes, where I have drier skin, it stays through the whole day, while it definitely fades off on my oilier parts like around the nose and on my forehead. It starts to look just a bit sheeny after a few hours, even though I always powder my face. My oilier t zone always gets a lot shinier through the day anyway.

It has that typical muddy clay scent that most of foundations have, so no added perfumes.

On the left photo I have foundation and on the right photo I also added concealer under my eyes, around the nose, in the middle of brows and around the mouth. I hope you can notice how much brighter I look on the right photo. I love that the shade is light enough to make me look brighter.

Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer is one of my all time favorite concealers and I wanted to test how it compared to Essence Camouflage Full Coverage Concealer. I applied one on one side and the other one on other.

Essence is more liquid and sheerer. Catrice is a lot thicker and therefore also looks heavier and has better coverage. Essence looks sheerer and more natural. You can apply more, but it won't look as cakey as Catrice. Essence also has a bit more of sheen and doesn't look as matte. It gives you just a bit of slight stickiness. The coverage is lighter with Essence. Both lightest shades look really similar when applied and I don't see as much difference between them as I do when I swatch them. I only notice that Essence looks brighter on me.

After about 6 hours of wear they both become a bit shiny on my T zone, but I noticed that the Essence side was shinier than the side with Catrice. So Essence is better for those of you that have drier skin. It also works best on my under eyes, which are drier than the rest of the face.

I think Essence concealer is perfect for those of you that don't need too much coverage, want something that lasts well, but mostly want something that is more moisturizing. It's perfect for drier skin as well as fair to light skin tones. The shade is fairly neutral and the formula is creamy and has good pigmentation. I adore it under the eyes and on drier parts, but I wouldn't use it for covering something really red or pimples. It also doesn't have that perfumed scent that Catrice has. I've heard some say that this bothers them. Catrice is my preferred choice because of the higher coverage, but they both have their good sides. And actually I've been using more of the Essence one lately, because of the more natural look.

Review: Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer - 005 Light Natural

Hey Beauties!

Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer is my favorite concealer. I use it every time I do my makeup. I already have two of their shades, but recently they've added a third one. It's lighter which is just what I needed in my life. Ever since I got it, I can't stop using it.

It comes in a lip gloss kind of plastic tube with a black top. Basic, but very useful and I love these systems best for concealers.

It costs 3.79€ and in it is 5 ml of product.

It also has a doe foot applicator, which is soft and gives a nice amount of product.

I won't go too much into details of this product, because I already reviewed two of these shades here and I also tested all the statements that are written on the product.

Basically it's a thicker creamy consistency, which dries very quickly to at first slightly tacky finish and later it becomes matte. It's better to work with thin layers, since it really does get dry really quickly. I usually apply one layer all over my imperfections and I use second thinner layer under my eyes to cover darkness.

It's very pigmented and I would say this is medium coverage, but can be build up to almost full coverage. I like that it's not drying and doesn't over emphasize small lines around my eyes. Of course they are visible a little, but it doesn't settle into the lines like a lot of other concealer do. That really annoys me.

It has a sweet fruity scent, which is not overpowering.

It's definitely waterproof and has an amazing staying power. It won't cover tattoos.

All of these concealers oxidize on my hands, but don't get scared, because on the actual face they blend into the skin and are as light as they look in the packaging.

Shade 005 Light Natural is light yellow toned warm shade. I adore this shade. It really brightens up my skin, especially under my eyes. Since I found some foundations that actually match my skin tone now (I am very pale), I adore to use this concealer with them, because it's still lighter then most of my foundations.

Demonstration of it under my eyes.

Here is also me with very light foundation on left side and on the right side I added this concealer. I hope you can notice how lighter and brighter my skin looks like on the right photo.

Now you can get three shades in this range and they are definitely more suited for lighter to medium skin tones. Two are warm and one is cool toned.

I compared all three shades and 005 is definitely the most yellow toned as well as the lightest of them all. It's perfect for fair warm toned complexions. 010 is very grey pink toned and still very light. This is perfect for all you with cool skin tones and fair complexion. 020 is the darkest and also the most orange one of them all. I would say this is going towards medium complexion, but I can also use it in the summer, when I get some tan. It's also very warm toned.

Shade 005 is very similar to MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer in NC15 in terms of lightness. I feel like 005 is slightly more orange yellow, while NC15 is more yellow. MAC's is a lot more liquid, while Catrice is more of a thicker version and it dries a lot quicker.

This is definitely my holy grail concealer right now and I just hope that they'll stock it in Müller, because I see it's sold out often and I know why. This is creamy, long lasting, doesn't emphasize lines, good coverage and very light shade, which is just what I need. I highly advise you to check it out in the store and maybe blend it under the eyes instead of putting it on the skin. Don't get afraid if it oxidizes. Also check out my detailed review of two other shades

Nadja also reviewed these concealers, so go check out her opinion on these.
