Nude brown makeup look

First of all, explanation as to why I've been a bit distant with my posts. Well, I got a new job (a student job, not a real one), I sort of have to write a thesis for my Bachelor's degree (and I'm starting to go into a panic mode) and I didn't shop almost at all - so no new products. That's about to change, since I have been naughty already this month :). I promise, I'll get better with my posts and posting them, but it's just been a bit crowded. I'm sure all of you know how it is sometimes. 


Moving on... I have seen some of the popular photos of Jenner sisters (younger Kardashian sisters) on the internet and fell in love with a nude makeup look and sort of browny tones that Kylie Jenner has been wearing. Neutrals are my favorite colors to use, when in a hurry and choosing a safe choice. I decided to recreate my version of brown nude eye makeup, with a bit of bronze, highlight and a brown nude lipstick.


As for the eye makeup, I used a light warm brown all over the lid. I then added taupe brown into the crease and dark brown shade in the outer V of the eye. I also used a light brown shade on the lower lash line. All the brown shades are completely matte. I only used a pink toned white shimmer eye shadow in the inner corners of the eye, to wake up the eyes. At the end, I added a little winged liner, not too thick, not too think. I finished with mascara and about 5 pairs of single fake eyelashes on each eye. 

I particularly like the long Jenner lashes, but of course they're probably not all natural. If they are, good for them! I needed some help with mine, therefore the single fake eyelashes, because they look more natural. 



On the face I put a medium coverage foundation and used a little less than usual. I wanted to still see through the texture of the skin. I concealed imperfections with a moisturizing concealer. Powder was reserved only for the T zone. On the face I also used my usual bronzer around the temples, a bit to contour under the cheeks, on the jaw line, neck and around the nose. But the bronzer was used very lightly, to make the contour appear as natural as possible. I also used champagne highlighter on the top of the cheeks, on cupids bow and in the center of the nose. No blush. 


I put a nude lip liner around the lips and filled them in with a light warm brown shade of lipstick. Then I took most of the lipstick off with a tissue. That way, I got a really thin layer of lipstick. The lipstick itself is more shiny if applied heavily.  


That is the finished nude makeup look, that would definitely suit everybody and would be good for any occasion. I actually prefer looks like that, because they're easy to create, you don't need a lot of products and it's a lot easier to maintain it, than bright lips or anything too colorful.

Review: Dr.Sheller Jojoba Oil & Schisandra Soothing Moisturizing Care

Today's review is about a complimentary product to one of Dr.Sheller's that I already reviewed. You can read the review here. Since I liked their serum so much, I decided to try the cream as well.


This product is supposed to be soothing moisturizing care, which reduces light redness and offers lasting protection against the development of new skin irritations. It's designed for sensitive skin, which mine is.


The cream is white and a bit thicker. It's thin enough to spread easily on the skin. It also soaks in really quickly. Behind, it leaves a moisturizing, somewhat sheen on the skin, but the feeling is very matte. The cream has a pretty subtle smell, nothing offensive and it does not smell like the serum. I feel like the cream has more neutral smell, although nothing distinctive that I could describe.


I like that it's not too heavy, which a lot of creams for sensitive skin are. I like that it dries and soaks quickly and it definitely makes my skin less irritated. I feel like the combination of serum and cream work great as far as reducing any irritations on sensitive skin. If you're skin is very sensitive, then this is a great cream.

However, it has a problem. The problem being that if you touch the skin after you've put on the cream or start to put on other product over it, it literally starts to peel off. The more you try to rub the skin, the more the cream starts to peel off. Such a shame, because I really like the benefits of using this cream on my skin. I noticed this when I applied foundation over it with a brush and my face started peeling off. Not good.


Now, I use the cream whenever my skin feels really irritated. I mostly use it at night, because then this is my last step in the routine. I also spread the cream with a very light pressure and quickly. Once this sets, it's better not to touch it. It won't come off, unless you rub it.

It costs something around 10 € (13$ or 8£) and you get 41 grams of product.

I think I won't be buying this cream again. It's a shame, because it works great with my skin, but I just can't be bothered to only use it when I know I won't be putting anything on top. And even that I have to do quickly and in a fairly thin layer.

Review: Batiste Tropical dry shampoo

Today I'm back on hair products. I was never a fan of dry shampoos, because they didn't work well on me. Well, I finally found the infamous Batiste and, I too, fell in love.


It's a dry shampoo like any. It's in a spray form. I spray it on the hair when they feel getting greasy and just brush it out. It does a really good job of refreshing my hair. They look a lot less greasy and they have more volume too. Of course dry shampoo adds texture to the hair, making them a bit thicker and fluffier. Batiste really is a good dry shampoo. I really like that my hair feels fresh the whole day, sometimes two. It also depends on when you use it. If the hair is very greasy, it won't become suddenly totally fresh, that's normal. The shampoo is used to refresh in between washes. It's great after workout or days when your hair feels that extra greasy. I also like using it right after washing and blow dying the hair to just add texture and volume. It may also prolong the freshness of the hair.

The spray is white and  there could be some white residue if you don't brush it out properly or have very dark hair. Batiste also has some dry shampoo for brunettes. I haven't tried it yet, but maybe it's transparent. I actually don't mind the whiteness. I can brush it out pretty well. I also like that it's pretty dry, because some dry shampoos tend to be way too liquid.

I got the Tropical scent, which smells...well tropical. It says it's coconut and exotic. I definitely smell coconut, but mixed with something else. It's not bad at all. A lot better than some other dry shampoos.


If you haven't tried Batiste yet, I highly recommend. It really is worth the money in my opinion. I bought it on Asos for 4.20 € (5.63$ or 2.99£). It contains 200 ml of product and it can last you quite a while, if you use it rarely. If you use it everyday it will have a shorter life, of course.

Definitely the best dry shampoo, I've had so far.

Review: Kiko Eyebrow Marker and Quick Dry Nail Lacquer

A few weeks ago my boyfriend went to Italy and I seized the opportunity to send him in Kiko store. Some other too, but unfortunately, they didn't have what I wanted. This is my first ever Kiko purchase. Sadly, I didn't get everything I wanted, because some things were sold out. I really like what I got and will sure be looking up this brand, whenever I'll go somewhere.


This Kiko Eyebrow Marker was really interesting. It promised to be pretty long lasting, like a sort of tattoo. I got it in the shade 02, which is for blondes. Personally, I think the shade is too dark for blondes, but it looks very natural on me.


Eyebrow marker has a sponge tip and it transfers color pretty equally. The tip is sometimes a problem, because I use it over some foundation that's left in between the brows and then the foundation sticks onto the marker, therefore makes it harder to transfer the color.


The shade is like a brown grey shade and it works like a marker. It leaves the slight color, but nothing too obvious or pigmented. The shade is perfect for my natural brows, because my brows are pretty taupe or greyish. I use this marker when I want to achieve very natural looking brows. I find that the pencil cover the whole brow area, therefore making it look a bit fake or overdone. Using this marker, the brows look really natural. I make short strokes to feather additional "fake" hair in between the brows. It lasts a really long time, but is definitely not waterproof.

It costs 5.90 € and there's 1.6 grams of product in it. I don't know for how long this will last, but I have been using it for two weeks or three and it's still as pigmented as it was before.


Here you can also see how buildable the look is with this marker. From just filling in the gaps, to making the brows a lot thicker and fuller.




Since there weren't other things that I wanted, my boyfriend also bought me one of their Quick Dry Nail Lacquers. I got it in this beautiful very dark violet shade called 829. I love the shade and I love the nail lacquer. It dries really quickly, has a bit wider brush, which makes application a dream and one coat is very pigmented. 


I did put on two coats, just because I always do that. Here's how it looks like with one and two coats. It dries so quickly that it makes my life a lot easier. It also was pretty long lasting.

There's 10 ml of product in it and it costs 3.90 €.



Overall a pretty good choices and I love the formulas of both products. So far, so good for Kiko. I wish I'll have the chance to try something else as well :).
