Red and Blue

Hey Beauties!

I don't usually use blue on my eyes, as most of blues look a bit too cool for my liking. On rare occasions I find blue that I really like, like the one in today's post. It's a blue eyeliner. Nothing looks better paired with blue eyeliner than red lipstick. It's one of those classic combinations that I've tried to recreate for this really simple makeup look.

I used light matte brown all over the lid and I slightly deepened outer corner with a mix of darker matte brown. Then I applied blue eyeliner in a winged shape.

I used the same brown around the bottom lash line and I also added light yellow gold shimmery shade in the inner corners to brighten it up. I finished with a few coats of mascara. You want eyeliner to be the star, not lashes, so don't apply falsies.

On the rest of my face I used foundation, concealer and powder. I also used matte warm bronzer around the outer edges of my face for an all over bronzed look. For highlighter I used warm light yellow toned gold shade. I also applied pink bronzy blush. For the lips I went with a glossy red lip that makes a statement.

Very minimalistic makeup look. I think this is the easiest and probably the most elegant color combination for those that don't really like colors. You can obviously use darker blue eyeliner shade, but I like how colorful this one looks.

Asian inspired simple spring makeup

Hello Beauties!

I've been stumbling upon Asian makeup a lot. I think I was mostly seeing Korean makeup, but because I'm not sure, I just call this Asian inspired makeup. And because it is so fresh, glowy and bright, it's perfect for spring. It's also extremely easy, since I think it's the makeup in which I used the least products, ever.

Eyes are super simple. I put a primer all over the lid and then I used some face liquid  highlighter on top, but it's so subtle that you can't even see it. I used liquid liner to do the wing. Usually my winged liner goes a bit up, but in this case I did  the line a bit straight out. I also did it really thin, close to the lash line. I put a lot of mascara to define the lashes. Especially upper ones. I left my brows softer by using powder instead of pencil.

Korean makeup lipsticks are so colorful that my heart starts to sing, when I see all those pretty shades. So of course I chose bright orange shade, which is also my new edition from Asian market. I'll do a separate review for most of the products I used in this makeup look.

As far as I figured out, Asian makeup is all about the skin. The skin is very natural looking, very glowy and shiny. I decided to use medium coverage moisturizing foundation all over the skin. Then I used highlighter in a stick form and used it all over my cheeks, on top of my brows (where the arch is), nose, cupids bow and highest point of the chin. No powder, bronzer or contour whatsoever. I did use creamy concealer to just conceal any redness and a little under the eyes. On the cheeks I just used the same lipstick I used on the lips. I didn't go as intense, as I saw on some photos, because well, I had to go out :).

I wanted to show you how glowy my skin looked under the sunlight.

In my opinion this is an extremely easy and fast makeup, that looks pretty natural with a pop of color on the lips. It's also perfect for spring and you can totally adept the shades to suit you. I couldn't stop drooling over some of the Asian makeup and I must say I loved how glowy all of the makeup looked. I know I can't pull it of always, because my skin tends to get pretty oily on my T-zone, but I sure loved how it looked like.

Nude brown makeup look

Hey Beauties!

First of all, explanation as to why I've been a bit distant with my posts. Well, I got a new job (a student job, not a real one), I sort of have to write a thesis for my Bachelor's degree (and I'm starting to go into a panic mode) and I didn't shop almost at all - so no new products. That's about to change, since I have been naughty already this month :). I promise, I'll get better with my posts and posting them, but it's just been a bit crowded. I'm sure all of you know how it is sometimes.

Moving on... I have seen some of the popular photos of Jenner sisters (younger Kardashian sisters) on the internet and fell in love with a nude makeup look and sort of browny tones that Kylie Jenner has been wearing. Neutrals are my favorite colors to use, when in a hurry and choosing a safe choice. I decided to recreate my version of brown nude eye makeup, with a bit of bronze, highlight and a brown nude lipstick.

As for the eye makeup, I used a light warm brown all over the lid. I then added taupe brown into the crease and dark brown shade in the outer V of the eye. I also used a light brown shade on the lower lash line. All the brown shades are completely matte. I only used a pink toned white shimmer eye shadow in the inner corners of the eye, to wake up the eyes. At the end, I added a little winged liner, not too thick, not too think. I finished with mascara and about 5 pairs of single fake eyelashes on each eye.

I particularly like the long Jenner lashes, but of course they're probably not all natural. If they are, good for them! I needed some help with mine, therefore the single fake eyelashes, because they look more natural.

On the face I put a medium coverage foundation and used a little less than usual. I wanted to still see through the texture of the skin. I concealed imperfections with a moisturizing concealer. Powder was reserved only for the T zone. On the face I also used my usual bronzer around the temples, a bit to contour under the cheeks, on the jaw line, neck and around the nose. But the bronzer was used very lightly, to make the contour appear as natural as possible. I also used champagne highlighter on the top of the cheeks, on cupids bow and in the center of the nose. No blush.

I put a nude lip liner around the lips and filled them in with a light warm brown shade of lipstick. Then I took most of the lipstick off with a tissue. That way, I got a really thin layer of lipstick. The lipstick itself is more shiny if applied heavily.

That is the finished nude makeup look, that would definitely suit everybody and would be good for any occasion. I actually prefer looks like that, because they're easy to create, you don't need a lot of products and it's a lot easier to maintain it, than bright lips or anything too colorful.

Lightly bronzed skin and bright orange lips

Hey Beauties!

One of my favorite spring / summer makeup trends has to be orange lipstick. Orange and red usually go really well with my skin tone, so I was more than excited to create one of this seasons makeup trends. The orange shades of lipsticks that are really trendy are really really bright oranges, but I went with a bit darker choice. It's still pretty bright, even though it doesn't look as such on those photos.

I left the eyes very simple. I used a mixture of a matte bronzer and a shimmery bronzer and blusher all in one. Those mixed shades I put all over the lid and on the bottom as well. I didn't want to line my eyes heavily, so I used berry brown eye liner to get some depth around the upper lash line. I also lightly put some champagne highlighter in the inner corner of the eye. Finished with lots of mascara. Just very simple eyes.

For the face I applied my usual foundation and concealer. Then I used a mixture of those two bronzers, I talked earlier, and put them across my cheeks, nose, temples and my neck. Just to get the overall sun kissed look. I didn't go overboard with this, like I would go in the summer, it was just a little to give my skin some glow. I also used highlighter on tops of my cheeks and a bit on the end of my nose. Slightly shimmer bronzer and highlighter give a very beautiful glow to the skin, which many people need after a long dull winter.

As far as the lips - my favorite part! - a bright orange lipstick. Ah..doesn't this shade looks amazing? I love it. I ordered a tester from Avon, just because I didn't have any bright orange and look what I got? Beauty! It's Avon Ultra Color Lipstick in the shade Tangerine Tango. This is, in my opinion, a pretty wearable slightly red warm undertoned lipstick that will suit a lot of people. Probably not the best choice for very cool toned skin, though.

Would you wear orange lipstick?
