Purple Haze

Spring always inspires me to play more with colors. It's that time of the year that is definitely the most vibrant and colorful. Many makeup artist play with colors so well and I especially like monochromatic eye looks created by using different tones of just one color. That's what I tried to create with this purple look.

My eye look is so simple that I didn't even include more photos of it. It's just a mix of two matte purple shades to create a bit of depth in the crease and a slightly warmer version all over the lid. I repeated the same on the lower lash line.

For a slight thin winged out liner I used cool matte purple pencil and mixed it with a mixing medium to create a more liquid version which slides better on the skin and gives me more precision. I used the same pencil on my lower water line. Finished with lots of mascara and a pale lavender shade with lavender sheen in the inner corner.

The rest of my makeup is very simple and toned down. I wanted the eyes to stay the brightest. I used nude brown toned blush with some contour and a light bronze. For highlighter I went with a mix of pink and golden, but in a liquid form, since it looks more natural.

I used cool beige lip liner to outline the lip and filled them in with a slightly warmer nude color.

Purple is definitely my favorite colorful eyeshadow to use and I have done many purple looks. I think it's one of those shades that looks amazing on any eye color. It looks great on blue eyes, pops out on green eyes and compliments so well brown or hazel eyes since it contrasts its warmth. To some it may be a bit outdated, as a blue eyeshadow, but if you make sure to hide your purple under eyes well, it can look great.
