Red For Christmas

I've been seeing combination of purple eye makeup with red lips a lot. So I thought of doing something similar as Christmas makeup this year. Instead of using bright purples, I used mauve shades and did a bright pastel lavender in the inner corner. No Christmas makeup is complete without the signature red lip and I went for metallic option which is so on trend this year.

I did a very simple slightly shimmer or glittery eye makeup to compliment red statement lip. In the crease I used apricot blush shade which I later deepened with a medium mauve. Over the lid I put a light wash of light mauve blush shade.

For the lid I mixed a slightly more mauve pink and copper gold shimmer. Some had bigger particles which could qualify as glitter already. I then used black gel liner to draw fairly thin winged liner and smudged it out with black eyeshadow. I put the same shades around the lower lash line and later deepened outer corner with a mix of redish brown an black. I felt it needed more definition. In the inner corner I used lovely pale lavender shade that has a lot of lavender sheen, but the camera just didn't wanted to pick it up as intense as it looked in the person.

Then I curled my lashes and put on mascara. I used some individual lashes to fill in the outer corners mostly, but just made my lashes look thicker and denser in general. I always prefer individuals over full strip lashes, because it looks more natural and it's easier to wear as well.

I wanted my skin to look fairly good, but more glowy. So I mixed some liquid highlighter in my foundation. I also used liquid highlighter instead of powder to make it look more natural. My contour was also cream and then some powder bronzer on top to warm up my complexion. As a blush I used warm brownish pink to compliment the lip color.

I knew I wanted to use this red metallic liquid lipstick for this look. It looks so much more interesting in real life. It has small shimmer which gives it that metallic look and it's a bit different from the usual matte formula. Metallic lips are very popular right not anyway.

This is very much my comfort zone makeup. I love individual false lashes, I love sparkly eyes and I love red lipstick. This would actually be a makeup that I would wear on Christmas. Lipstick is very long lasting too, so I think it would get me through the massive amounts of food just as well.
