Review: Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadow Glass Bull and Super Shock Shadow Birthday Wish

I like all the products that I have tried so far from Colourpop. It's definitely one of my top makeup brands that I wish was available within the EU, because it's a hassle getting your package to your country and dealing with customs. Whenever they have good deals, I order some products that are on my wishlist. This time I bough their Super Shock Shadow in Birthday Wish, Pressed Powder Shadow in Glass Bull and Super Shock Cheek in Flexitarian.

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow - Birthday Wish

Colourpop makes a birthday inspired super shock shadow each year and this year it's called Birthday Wish. I believe these shadows are not in their regular range, so if you want it, get it while you can.

Packaging

Usually these shadows have white plastic packaging, but this year's birthday edition is violet colored. It has same transparent top that you can see your shadow through. There's also four candles on the top to represent their fourth birthday.

In it is 2.1 grams of product and it costs 5$.

Formula

It has that super shock shadow formula which means it feels almost like mousse and smooths on the lid as cream. It sets into a powder finish and doesn't move. This one is sheerer in the base and it has ultra-glitter finish which means it looks quite glittery on the lids, but it's still very tasteful.

Colors

Colourpop says that this is warm champagne with pink duochrome flip and violet and blue glitters. It looks like a very transparent warm champagne base and on the top is mostly a very prominent pink sheen. Some glitters in it are definitely blue as well as purple, but the sheen is strong pink. It looks interesting on the eyes, although I expected something more similar to Birthday Girl. But Birthday Girl has strong brown base and warmer golden silver glitters on top. Keep in mind it looks much more boring on photos, because the camera just can't show how pretty this looks in person.

Eyeshadows: Colourpop Issues, Colourpop Note to Self (Yes, Please! palette), Colourpop French Kiss (Yes, Please! palette), Colourpop Birthday Wish
Clio Kill Black Brush Liner, L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara

Lips: Catrice Lip Foundation Pencil 030 Addicted to Cafe Au Lait, Bourjous Rouge Velvet The Lipstick 02 Flaming'rose

Performance

All of super shock shadows that I own are very long lasting on me and this one is no exception. They set quickly and don't move the whole day. Intensity is still there at the end of the day.

Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadow - Glass Bull

Packaging

I usually buy these in pans only, although you can get them in a compact as well. I have their large empty magnetic palette and store them in that.

In it is 1.5 grams and it costs 4€ (pan), 5€ for compact.

Formula

It has very creamy formula and seems more like a cream than a powder product. If you have very oily lids, definitely use eye primer with this one. It has that chunky glittery look in the pan, but on the skin shimmer is small and just gives it that interesting duochrome look. It's slightly sheerer with one swipe, but depending on how thick you apply it, you can get it really opaque, although it will always look very sheeny and almost glossy like. That's part of the reason why everyone loves this eyeshadow so much.

Colors

Colourpop describes Glass Bull as duochrome lavender icy-blue. I would say that this has redish brown base and duochrome green blue sheen. Sometimes it can look more lavender, but I definitely see more green and blue in it. It's a true transformer shade and it looks different on top of different colored eyeshadows. I did some examples with basic brown, red and purple as a base.

Performance

As I've mentioned before, this is very creamy. None of my other pressed shadows from them feel as creamy as this one. Keep that in mind, because it might move on the lid, if you don't prime it well. I don't have problems with it creasing. It lasts well on the lids through the day.

I repurchased this one, because I've hit pan on one of these and it's one of my favorite highlighters, especially for winter. This is the most reflective highlighter in my collection. It has warm champagne base, but cool silver sheen. It almost looks like glass on the skin and reflects light so beautifully. It goes on like a cream and can be applied over liquids and powders. It's another best seller from Colourpop and for a good reason.

You can buy Colourpop products on their online store.

I was expecting a bit of a different look with Birthday Wish. Basically, I wanted it to be more neutral, but the pink sheen is quite intense. I still love the shadow and formula, I just expected something different. Glass Bull is very unique shade in my collection and I love how versatile it is. It can looks so different on top of different base colors. It's very creamy, so I don't even consider it as a regular powder shadow. It's a must, if you want something different in your collection. I apply it over any basic boring matte shadow to give it some depth and life. Colourpop eyeshadows are great quality and I can't recommend them enough. They have huge selection, great formula that lasts and in general affordable prices.

Hvala :) <3
