Rohto Hadalabo Gokujyun Cleansing Oil
I've almost used this one up already. It's been on my wishlist for ages and I finally decided to try it. Usually I don't like spending a lot of money on cleansing products, because that's something I rinse off and it doesn't stay on my skin to actually do something. But I didn't regret buying it. It's one of those thinner oils that actually feels so comfortable on the skin. By massaging it in, you break down even waterproof makeup and it doesn't sting my eyes. It has no scent and it rinses of milky like most such products. It leaves no greasy feel on the skin, but doesn't feel drying either. Now it's probably my favorite cleansing oil, though I already have another Asian brand of cleansing oil on standby for me to try next.
This is sort of toner/serum hybrid with lots of soothing and hydrating ingredients like panthenol, niacinamide, ceramides, amino acids and ectoin. It's like a booster that you would apply before any other serums or creams to sooth the skin, hydrate it and keep skin's barrier healthy. Texture is a bit viscose without any scent and it feels like nothing on the skin - absorbs really fast. I still notice the benefits of it, when I use it under my other skin care. It's the perfect product for those with oily skin or combination, especially in summer, because it's super lightweight, yet effective.
SVR Blur Sun Secure Mousse Cream Optical Blur
Boy, has it been long and hot summer this year. My skin has been getting more and more oily. Sebum coming through my pores is unreal. Is till prefer it slightly oilier rather than dehydrated. I've tried to keep my sebum under control by applying lighter skin care products and matte SPFs. This SVR mousse SPF is actually more like a primer. It has that mousse like consistency that gives you velvet finish and blurs pores for even and perfect base to apply makeup on top. There is some scent to it, but it doesn't bother me too much and I like that it wears so well under makeup. I couldn't bare another hydrating SPF, because I would look shiny after half an hour.
For some reason I tend to skip on highlighters in the midst of summer. My skin produces enough shine on it's own and metallic highlighters can quickly exaggerate my pores even more. I reach for more subtle highlighters to add a bit of natural sheen and this one from Kiko gives me just that. It's creamy stick formula that gives me just a bit of sheen without any visible shimmer and the color is such a nice neutral champagne that works for me in the winter as well as in the summer. Plus it's so easy and quick to apply it with fingers. I wear it on top of foundation, before I use powder.
Sleek Loose Pigment - Trance
I've had this pigment from Sleek for such a long time already, but I always forget to use it. It seemed like the perfect summer color and I used it all over my lid. This is such a nice coppery bronze color. It's not too metallic, but it just gives you that perfect summerish sheen on your lids. This on it's own gives enough dimension. I usually mix pigments with Inglot Duraline, because it makes it easy for me to spread on the skin and it stays put the whole day.
Lip glosses are my thing for the summer. I avoid lipsticks, because they can feel heavy and too much. This Maybelline gloss is one of rare ones that I have enjoyed so much that I already used it up and bought another one. Formula is lip gloss, but not too sticky and it feels nourishing. Topaz is the perfect nude shade that will literally suit everyone. It's not too pink, not too brown and has some warmth to it. Tiny shimmer gives you that glossy shine that makes the lips look juicy and it stays for a while, so you don't need to keep reapplying.
Joico K-Pak Hydrator Intense Treatment For Dry, Damaged Hair
In the summer time my hair usually get dry and damaged, especially coming from a holiday. I resort to my "better" hair care and try to fix it. Joico's Hydrator is one of those hair masks that I love to have back in my stash. I always rave about the K-Pak line in general and this one has been used instead of my regular conditioner a couple of times. But in pair with reconstructor mask it works like magic. It leaves my hair feeling moisturized, healthy looking and smooth. Gone are frizzy ends. They at least look healthy, even though they aren't.
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Florale Multi-Purpose Dry Oil
As summer slowly transitions into the fall, so does my skin. Suddenly I notice skin on my legs being very dry, if I don't moisturize it after showering. I call it dehydration after summer, because it feels like that. I often times interchange my body products. Right after shaving I go for thicker moisturizers, while on days when I just want something to lock in moisture after the shower I use butter or oils like this one from Nuxe. I've grown to love this floral fragrance that feels a bit spa like. It's dry oil, so it doesn't leave that ultra greasy feel on my skin and it absorbs well. Plus it leaves my skin well protected from further drying out. Pump is very convenient to apply.
