I was so glad to see Bourjois come out with new lipstick formula named ROUGE fabuleux. I haven't had many of their lipsticks in the past, but those that I had and still have, have all impressed me very much. This is what I would call more comfortable version of their Rouge Velvet The Lipsticks.
Packaging
It comes in plastic black packaging with shade indicator in the bottom. Details are silver and the shape is the same as with Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipsticks. It also has the same tear drop bullet shape which makes it apply so easily and precisely all at once.
In each is 2.3 grams of product and it costs 12.99€. I have seen these on sale already, so wait for a good discount.
Formula
It has creamy and smooth formula that applies like butter. You want to keep applying it, because it feels so good, but you can get intense color in just one swipe.
Pigmentation is really good. Finish is creamy with a bit of sheen, but if you have very dry lips, it will dry down to a semi-matte finish in about half an hour.
Colors
Color selection is quite big. There is more nude colors in this range, which is to be expected with the creamier formula. But there are also some brighter and darker shades available.
11 Cindered-lla is that classic medium red shade that will suit most skin tones. In general it seems pretty neutral toned, but I can sense a hint of warm orange tint to it which makes it one of my favorite reds.
Comparison
Unfortunately, these all photograph pretty similar, though you would notice difference in tone in person. So I hope my descriptions help.
Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquer Matte Head Turner - medium red with slight warmer undertone.
Avon Plump It Lipstick Rebel Red - medium cool blue toned red.
Avon Perfect Reds Lipstick Lava Love - medium pink toned red.
Avon Perfect Reds Lipstick Poppy Love - medium warm orange toned red.
Bourjois Rouge Fabuleux Lipstick 11 Cindered-lla - medium neutral to warm red.
Performance
Despite being creamier formula, it has really nice lasting power. I can wear it for several hours without it smudging, fading or going outside the lines. It fades fairly evenly and leaves a bit of stain. It's not transfer proof, so you have to be careful with darker shades. It feels very lightweight on the lips and doesn't dry them out. It's also not moisturizing, as they claim it to be, but let's just say it's comfortable.
I actually prefer this formula over Rouge Velvet, because it feels better on my dry lips and it even dries down to that semi-matte finish, which becomes completely matte after a few hours, on me anyway. It's not transfer proof and won't stay on as long as a proper matte formula, but if you have very dry lips like me, you'll prefer this formula. It's so easy and smooth to apply, but it stays on lips better than most creamier formulas. Color selection is not bad and if you want that classic red that will look good with any makeup, definitely get 11 Cindered-lla. I am totally in love with this kind of red.
