Pastel french manicure

This manicure is inspired by french manicure with a little retro feel to it with polka dots.

Step 1: Paint your nails with a base coat. This will help to stick your nail polish on better. Plus it will protect your natural nails.

Step 2: Use a light white nail polish to cover the entire nail. If your nail polish is transparent like mine, do two coats of it.

Step 3: Choose a range of pastel nail polishes. I am using light green/minty, peach, light purple, baby blue and light pink. Place the brush of nail polish horizontally on the nail. Then just move the nail, not the brush and you will get a perfect line. If you mess up, go over it. If your nail polishes are too transparent, do two coats of it.

Tip: If you don't have all of the polishes in pastel colors, use a white nail polish and just mix it with a dot of your favorite nail polish. It will create a beautiful milky pastel color.

Step 4: Use a striping nail polish and create a line between the base white nail polish and pastel tip. This just gives it a more of define look.

Tip: If you don't have a stripping nail polish just use any kind of brush or toothpick.

Step 5: Use a small doting tool to create polka dots on pastel base.

Tip: If you don't have a doting tool use a toothpick or... Get a pencil with a rubber. On that rubber place a pin with a round shape on top and you have a doting tool :).

Step 6: Clean around your nails and use a top coat to protect the design. Your nails are done!
