Review: Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer (010 Porcellain and 020 Light Beige)

Hey Beauties!

One of the products from Catrice's new fall line that I was most looking forward to trying out, it's their Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer. I really like their cream camouflage version, because it's really pigmented and great for covering up redness and blemishes. So I really wanted to try the liquid version and I even bought both shades.

It comes in a clear plastic packaging with black top. The packaging seems sturdy, but I wouldn't necessarily throw it around the room.

It has a doe foot applicator, which is very convenient and soft

It costs 3.79€ and you get 5 ml of it.

Catrice says that this is liquid, high coverage and ultra-longlasting concealer. It should perfectly camouflage under-eye circles, spots and even tattoos. It's also waterproof

First let's check out the shades. Catrice currently has two shades of this concealer. It's 010 Porcellain and 020 Light Beige.

In the tube they both seem pretty light and I was hopeful. 010 Porcellain is more greyish and pink toned. 020 Light Beige is more yellow orange warm toned. They both seem very neutral in the tube, but I have a feeling they might turn out different depending on your skin tone.

If your fair, go for 010, because it's pretty light and I don't say this lightly. It would probably suit me perfectly in the winter, while now it's almost a bit too light. But keep in mind I use darker foundations now and I have some tan on. That being said, I like to have a slightly lighter concealer for my under eyes.

If you're a bit darker with warmer undertone then 020 is for you. This is actually good for me now, but I have a feeling it will be too dark in the winter.

They are very thick in consistency and very creamy, but dry really quickly to a completely matte finish. It completely dries in about 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how thick layer your have.

For some reason they oxidized on my skin like crazy, when I was swatching them. On my face I don't seem to have this problem. Maybe because I use thinner layers and slowly blend it in. If I apply thick coat and I retouch it while it's still sticky, it becomes lighter again. But when it dries it turns darker. Fortunately this is only on my hand. I still think it's better to work in thin layers and wait for it to dry in between as it says on the packaging.

As you can see on the photo below the undertones get more emphasized and both look a lot darker once they oxidize.

It has a sweet fruity scent, which I don't mind, but don't see why it needs to have a smell at all.

I decided to compare the shades to the Catrice Camouflage Cream concealers in 010 Ivory and 020 Light Beige. Cream version in 010 Ivory is the lightest among them all. I would say it's pretty neutral, but may have a bit more warm undertone. Liquid version in 010 Porcellain seems very cool pink toned. It's also darker.

Cream version in 020 Light Beige is again warm yellow toned and it's definitely darker. It is however still lighter then liquid version in 020 Light Beige, which oxidizes to a really deep orange toned shade.

Liquid versions dry really quickly to a complete matte finish. Cream versions tend to stay sticky and still dewy even after a while, but are in fact a lot more pigmented. This is normal for cream versus liquid version. Cream versions also oxidize, but not as much as liquids. Again, the effect on the face doesn't seem to oxidize at all. This was really complicated to swatch.

I also compared the shades to some of the other liquid concealers, just to give you some idea as to where the shades are.

In this batch, Velvet Finish in 030 Velvet Beige is actually the lightest and the most neutral to pink toned. Liquid camouflage in 010 Porcellain is next in line, but it's a little bit more pink toned (which is more visible in person). Liquid camouflage in 020 Light Beige is on the warmer and a bit darker side then 010, but Revlon Colorstay in 02 Light is the yellowest of them all.

After I took a photo of these I decided to add MAC Pro Longwear in NC15, just for the sake of comparison. Velvet finish is still the lighters. MAC is next in line, also light but with a warm tone. Liquid in 010 is a bit darker then MAC.

Concealer is in fact really pigmented and it does cover quit well. I wouldn't say that it covers really blue under eye circles, it just covers slightly darker under eye area. The coverage also depends on how much you build it up. I usually do one layer under my eyes and then go in with another thin layer, where I have more darkness.

On the top left photo is me with nothing on, on the right top photo is how much I apply of it. On the left bottom photo is one thin coat of it and on the right bottom photo is two coats.

I didn't notice any creasing going on, excluding the eye area, because everything creases under my eyes. On my face it didn't settle into the lines, except after a really long day. I think the quick drying time and matte finish helps it to stay put and not settle into any fine lines.

Now let's see if it covers tattoos. Fortunately I have a tattoo model (my boyfriend) so I actually tried to cover his tattoo and well, it's somewhere in the middle with this one. You have to put three heavy layers in order to fairly conceal the tattoo, but it's not perfectly covered and you look like you've been bathing in concealer. So, sorry Catrice, I don't think I can agree with you on this one.

I tried some other concealers and I'll be damned, MAC Studio Finish and Catrice Camouflage Cream work almost the same. They both seem to have the most coverage to almost entirely conceal up tattoo. Catrice Liquid cream actually fails it completely. Bare in mind that I used one layer of each, but the cream version is a lot more pigmented and thicker.

One big happy yes goes to the fact that it is waterproof. For sure! I actually went swimming a few days ago and by that I mean I was sinking my head and trying to get it as wet as possible and it hold up really well. If you rub it, it will come off after a while, but other than that it pretty much stays perfect. As you can see on the right photo the water just slides off it. On the left photo I even rubbed it a bit and nothing. Five points for you Catrice! Definitely longlasting.

I can see this as a must have product for summer. Maybe now we can get camouflage foundation? Just sayin'!

All in all this is a really good product for the right price. I can see myself repurchasing it, if Catrice doesn't decide to discontinue it! (Yes please!) It actually has a pretty descent coverage for a liquid concealer. It has a quick drying time, which means it won't move a lot and the matte finish is right up my alley. The fact that it's waterproof makes it that more appealing, because it also means it's very longlasting. Just don't buy it to cover your tattoos and you're good to go. Good job Catrice! Definitely try it, because it's worth the price.

Review: Melvita Bourbon Geranium Floral Water

Hey Beauties!

Melvita introduce me to the world of floral waters. They have a high range of floral waters to suit every need. Recently they added a new floral water to their range and I already tested it out for a few weeks.

Bourbon Geranium Floral Water is certified organic floral water. It's obtained through a steam distillation of fresh Pelargonium Graveolens Bourbon, which comes from rare culture in France. It is naturally rich in active ingredients and has delicate fragrance of Bourbon Geranium, which is similar to rose with spicy undertones. This floral water helps to refine pores and smooth skin texture. It refreshed, hydrates and tones the skin.

It comes in a dark blue plastic bottle. The bottle is made out of 100% recycled and recyclable plastic material. I believe it's dark for a reason, to preserve the ingredients of the floral water. It contains 200 ml of product and costs 15.30€. You can buy it here or in any Melvita store.

The ingredients list.

The spray pump works fine. It produces a very fine mist. You can't really control the amount that it comes out, but the mist is so fine that you can't overdue it. I usually spray about 3 to 4 pumps for my entire face and neck. When you spray it on it leaves drops of water on your face. It looks like you've been sweating, but it disappears into the skin.

The water is really refreshing, especially now in the summer days. I admit, I sometimes spritz it all over my face just for the sake of refreshment. It actually does hydrate the skin a little. Especially if you don't like to put much on your skin, since it can get really oily in the summer, this will act as some sort of a toning hydrating product. That being said, I like to use it instead of a toner, because if I'm being honest I don't really use the usual toners. This is great, especially because you can just spritz it and you're done. I also use it as a setting spray. I spray it all over my face, after I've done my makeup and it helps to make your make not look as powdery and more like it has settled into the skin.

This water makes my skin feel a bit smoother. It's not like you've made yourself a physical or chemical peeling, but the surface does seem smoother to the touch. I can't really say if my pores are looking any smaller or blurred, because I would probably need to use this for a longer period of time. It may make the appearance of them a bit less visible, but the difference is minimal. I have problems with enlarged pores, especially in the summer, so this might work better on someone with smaller pores in general.

The smell of it is very well, floral. To me it smells like if you've smelled a flower with a bit of spiciness mixed with it. I wouldn't say I'm crazy about the smell, because I usually avoid any kind of floral scents, but for some reason it doesn't bother me as much. I would say that the scent fades away really quickly, which is a plus for me.

I also need to address the fact that I find this floral water to be fine for slightly sensitive skin. I have in general sensitive skin and it didn't produce any irritations. I will say on days when my skin is really irritated, you might want to avoid it, because it may give you some red patches. I think this is due to the floral scent, which can aggravate sensitive skin a little.

I've never really tried any of the floral waters before, but I seem to really like the refreshing feeling of it and the non fuss application that can replace your usual toner (if you use it). This is perfect for summer and for anyone that loves quick products for slight hydration with the benefits of an over all more beautiful skin with the use of longer period.

Melvita mi je predstavila svet cvetnih vodic. Imajo velik nabor cvetnih vodic za vsakršno potrebo. Pred kratkim so k svoji liniji cvetnih vodic dodali novo in jaz sem jo že preizkušala približno dva tedna.

Vsebuje 200 ml izdelka in stane 15.30€.

Nikoli prej nisem preizkusila nobene cvetne vodice.

Review: Herbio Cream Kalei

Hey Beauties!

Herbio a Slovenian company that produces natural modern herb inspired cosmetics, offered me to try one of their product. In the process of choosing the product I decided on their Cream Kalei with no hesitation. Why? Because since I started using skin care products, the ones that were based on any kid of sea ingredients, always worked for my skin. This one is not an exception.

Cream Kalei is an all-around 24 hours cream for sensitive, dry and irritated skin. It contains chlorella vulgaris, sea fennel, plankton extract and vitamin E. The cream should hydrate and make the skin more elastic. It also has some anti-aging ingredients to slow down the aging process. The cream doesn't contain any parabens or mineral oils.

It comes in a white plastic bottle with a pump. Extremely hygienic and useful packaging. It's also light enough to travel with. It contains 50 ml of product and costs 29.95€

The ingredients list.

The pump has a descent hole and you can actually control the amount you want to come out. I really like that, because sometimes I use more and sometimes I use less.

The cream is white and more on the runny side of consistency. Once you start spreading it on your skin, it's still white, but when you massage it in it leaves behind a very shiny finish. Depending on how dry your skin is, this may look either greasy or get soaked in. The texture feels very moisturizing, like a very hydrating and greasy layer is over your skin.

My skin has been on the dry side this year, so I use this even now in the summer. In the morning I put a thin layer, not to make me greasy through the day and in the evening I put on a thicker layer. It really does hydrate the skin. It doesn't irritate at all. I actually feel like it soothes my skin. Sometimes it even makes my skin very smooth, especially when I use it overnight.

So, I think this could be perfect for anyone with any kind of irritations, sensitivity or maybe even imperfections. It is very hydrating, keep that in mind. I would say this isn't a good choice for oily skin. Depending on how dry your skin is, this might be good for you in the winter or for all seasons.

It has a very natural and subtle smell. It's somewhat neutral.

To me this is a very good hydrating natural cream. I think this will be amazing in the winter. It's good for the summer, if you have dry patches, but on really hot days, it might be too much. If you're looking for something soothing and hydrating, this is it.

Herbio has a lot of ranges for many other skin types and specific problems. It also caters to men. Cream Kalei is from their Vision range, which focuses on different individual care. They also have Skin Care Woman, Body Care, Skin Care Man, Young Image, Young Body, Bath, Feet and Grandma's Secrets. Something for every need. I've already checked their products and some are already on my wish list. I am intrigued by their AHA Fruit Peeling Mask, Sensitive Herbal Cleansing Gel and Regenerating Vitamin Night Cream. If you have a chance, definitely check them out here

For all international readers, I'm not sure if they deliver to foreign countries, so it's best if you contact them about that.

Vsebuje aktivni izvleček klorela alge, morski koprc, izvleček planktona in vitamin E. Krema naj bi kožo navlažila in izboljšala njeno elastičnost. Vsebuje tudi sestavine, ki upočasnijo proces staranja. Ne vsebuje parabenov in mineralnih olj.

Embalaža je plastična z pumpico. Zelo higienična in praktična embalaža. Vsebuje 50 ml kreme in stane 29.95€. Kupite jo lahko tukaj.

Seznam sestavin.

Review: L'Oreal Elnett Heat Protect Styling Spray (Smooth)

Hey Beauties!

I've been using Got 2 Be Guardian Angel Heat Protect. It seemed to have worked fine, but it always left my hair crunchy and crispy like a hair spray and I didn't like it. Then I tried this version from L'Oreal and I fell in love.

L'Oreal has two Elnett Heat Protect Styling Sprays. One is for volume and one is for straight hair. I used the Smooth version, for silk straight effect. It's basically a heat protect, which should protect your hair from heat damage of flat iron, curling wands and even blow drying. It should protect your hair up to 230°C. You should use heat protect products if you want to prevent damage to your hair like split ends and over dried hair. This one protects from hair damage and also moisturizes your hair. It should make your hair smooth for up to 3 days. L'Oreal experts also use it as a product to tame the frizz and lock in the flyaways.

Now on to my experience. First of all the packaging is a standard plastic bottle with a very nice black pump on top. I love how easy and spot on this pump is. It produces a really nice thin mist. There's also a little push square. If you press it to one side, you lock the bottle and if your press it to the other side you unlock the bottle, so you don't have to worry about product spilling all over your bag.

The ingredients list.

It's an off-white liquid. I like to spray it on my hands and than put it trough my hair, but you can obviously spray it directly to the hair. Just a warning... this spray is extremely slippery! I don't recommend spraying this all over your bathroom, because you might break someone's leg. It really is that slippery when it lands on the floor.

I wanted to demonstrate how it looks like on the hair, although it's pretty obvious. On my top photo are my freshly washed hair. As you can see my ends dry really quickly, because they are naturally a lot drier then the rest of the hair.

On the bottom photo is how my hair looks like when I apply the heat protect. Right after the application my hair feels a bit more moisturized and smooth. The spray seems to coats them with something slippery, which makes my hair very smooth as it promises.

Then I just use a blow drier and dry my hair and here is the result. I don't usually have problem with frizz or flyaways, so I can't comment on that. It definitely feels moisturizing and makes my hair a bit nourished and very smooth to the touch. I wouldn't say it will make your hair absolutely straight. I have naturally straight hair, but they sometimes tend to form some waves, especially when I pull my hair back behind my ear. So I wouldn't agree on having your hair straight and silk for three days. Maybe if you blow dry it with a brush, the effect could last a bit longer.

The spray has a very distinct strong smell. I can't describe it. It smells like a hair salon (cliche I know, but that's how I feel about it).

The smell was the first thing that reminded me of another amazing heat protect product and it's the heat protect from GHD (Good Hair Day). I swear, as soon as I smelled it in the store I knew it reminded me of some other product. I feel like I need to mention that GHD one was the best heat protect I ever used and I feel like this one is a very similar product. I wish I had the old bottle of GHD, because the texture is the same, I swear the smell is too.. I really think these two could be dupes.

All in all, this is probably the best drugstore heat protect spray. I know I'm apparently very late to the party, but I'm just glad that I arrived. If you're looking for something moisturizing and effective to prevent you from damage and over-dryness while using your heat tools, then go for this one. If you're looking for something to make your hair straight, I wouldn't go for this one. I would say try some other products that are meant for hair straightening.
