2024 Favorites - Makeup

This year I decided to do my yearly makeup favorites in a way that I covered every category. I included new makeup products that I discovered last year and some old classics that I have loved for years and years. It's also my most used and my favorite makeup products from 2024.

Primer: e.l.f. Power Grip Primer/Essence Fix & Last Make-up Gripping Jelly Primer

These two are basically the same. They both have this sticky gripping formula that is perfect as a base for any further product you apply on top to really grip to it and make it stay in place. I liked using either of these for special occasions, when I wanted my makeup to really last long.

Foundation: Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Luminous Matte Foundation

This is still my favorite foundation and one I can't shut up about. If you have combination skin, you will love it. It gives you matte finish, but with luminosity that makes it look skin like, lasts all day on your face and will keep your sebum at bay for as long as possible. I adore it.

Concealer: The Saem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer - 01 Clear Beige

I've had this in my stash for as long as I know of Asian makeup brands. This is just so reliable. It gives great coverage, is creamy enough, doesn't settle into fine lines, oxidize or look weird in any way. I also like shade selection for my light neutral to olive skin tone.

Powder: RCMA No Color Powder and Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder - Fair

I don't fuss much with powders. Any loose translucent powder is fine for me to set my face, because I will use it through the day as well, since my oily parts tend to get oily quick. RCMA comes in a huge bottle and this really lasts me, does a good job of setting my makeup. For those specially occasions I also like Charlotte's powder, because for some reason it just airbrushes your skin and almost blurs fine lines. It's a great finishing powder.

Cream Contour: Lamel BB Contour - 401 Taupe And Kiko Sculpting Touch - 201

I use Kiko for when I want to really define my features, like nose contour and cheeks carved out for those special occasions, because it's not too creamy, stays put and great pigmentation. It can sometimes turn a bit more warm on my skin tone. I use Lamel more as a contour and bronzer all in one. It defines, because it has nice grey undertone, yet for some reason it can pass as a bronzer on my skin tone as well. So it's a one and done product. It's so easy to blend, but for better longevity you need to set it with powder.

Contour: Too Cool For School Artclass by Rodin Shading - Modern

This is a very light contour palette that has three cool toned shades. The lightest one is almost similar to my skin tone. It's the perfect seamless contour for my nose and cheeks as it looks so undetectable. Sometimes I do need to build it up, because it is so light in color. But that also means I can't overdue it.

Bronzer: Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer - Bronzer

A favorite bronzer that has been so for years and years. There is just no other buttery formula that blends like a dream and gives me the perfect color that isn't orange or red. This is superb for the price.

Cream Highlighter: e.l.f. Jelly Pop Glow Stick

I almost forgot to wear highlighter last year and when I did it was always just something creamy. This one from e.l.f. gives you that proper sebum like effect (my oily girls will know). It looks dewy, yet has an almost transparent base with some pinkish sheen to it. There is no metallic texture, it just looks dewy and I love how natural that looks. Perfect for colder months, because in summer my sebum worked as a highlighter on its own.

Cream Blush: Lamel BB Blush 401 Tea Rose and e.l.f. Camo Liquid Blush - Pinky Promise

Lamel blush is that proper peach that just suits my complexion so well. It's creamy and can give off more of a sheen on the cheeks. But it's so easy to blend and I love the shade. e.l.f. Camo Liquid Blushes have become my favorite liquid blushes. I already own 4 shades, but Pinky Promise was probably my most used. Who would have thought I would grow to love pink blushes so much. It's that cool winter pink shade on the cheeks that makes me feel alive. It's a creamy formula that is very pigmented and actually has very long lasting power.

Blush: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush - Mood Exposure and Trend It Up Powder Blush Mitt Glow Effect - 080

Mood Exposure looks more dusty pink and it's great for any makeup look that I wear. It has that subtle sheen to it and just blends like a dream. Trend It Up is probably the most cool toned pink I own. For some reason I just love this one. It gives me those baby doll pink cheeks and it also has a bit of sheen, so it's easier to blend, even though it is such a vibrant shade.

Eyeshadow Palette: Paese Warm Crush Eyeshadow Palette and Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar

I was so boring with my eyes looks. Usually just my matte browns and nudes in the crease and occasionally some shimmer or a topper all over the lid. Paese Warm Crush is still my favorite. This palette just has all the shades you may need for a really basic or night look. I also fell back in love with my really old Too Faced palette that has all the perfect matte browns. Don't judge. It has all the shades you may need and you can see I love a certain neutral toned brown.

Eyeshadow: Catrice Space Glam Chrome Eyeshadow

These were such a nice new discovery from a drugstore. They are so creamy, have this small glittery particles that will give you full on look or glass eye. Pigmentation is there. Amazing duo chrome for that price. I apply one of these all over the lid and it's a look.

Eyeliner: Trend It Up Clean & Precise Kajal - 301 and Lamel Long Lasting Kajal - 402

I can't go without a bit of smudged out winged liner and I usually do it with a creamy eye pencil and some eyeshadow on top. Lamel is so creamy and very pigmented. Easy to smudge out, plus it lasts really well. Trend It Up is more of that classic harder kajal, but still blends like a dream and gives me just enough definition. I do need to set it with powder eyeshadow, because it's not super pigmented.  But it's just enough for a day look.

Mascara: Maybelline Lash Sensational

This is still my favorite mascara of all time since it came out. I love that it gives me definition, doesn't make my lashes look clumpy and still adds enough volume. I get no transfer or smudging, even though it's not waterproof.

Brows: Maybelline Build-a-Brow Brow Pen - Ash Brown

By now this has become my holly grail product for brows. It's the perfect precise pen tip, just pigmented enough and finish that doesn't look shiny that makes this a total winner in my book. Plus the brow gel side isn't bad either to set brows with.

Lip Liner: NYX Slim Lip Pencil - Nude Truffle and Lamel Long Lasting Gel Lip Liner - 407 and e.l.f. Cream Glide Lip Liner - Baddest Beige and Alverde Lip Liner - 22 Soft Nude

I've probably tried more lip liners in the past year than ever before. I was on a hunt for the perfect nude color and formula. NYX Nude Truffle is now my new favorite NYX nude shade since my old favorite was screwed by NYX and doesn't look the same anymore. I also loved creamy formula from Lamel which sets really well and stays there. e.l.f. also has that super creamy glide to it and I love the shades, but it's not the most long lasting. Alverde has the perfect cool toned nude to contour light skin tones, but sadly has a sheen to it, which I am not a fan of. However the shade is perfect. These are some of those that I wore the most.

Lipstick: Catrice Melting Kiss Gloss Stick - 050 and Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution - Supermodel

I wore lipstick only for special occasions, otherwise it was always some sort of lip gloss or oil paired with lip liner. I liked Charlotte's Supermodel the most as my favorite nude. I was obsessed with this gloss stick from Catrice, because it was like lip balm and gloss in a stick form with the perfect warm brown shade. Sadly, it's discontinued.

Lip Gloss/Oil: Maybelline Lifter Gloss - 008 Stone and Essence Hydra Kiss Lip Oil - 01 Kiss From A Rose and Essence Juicy Bomb - 02 Strawberry Star

Maybelline Lifter glosses are still my favorite lip glosses and I wore Stone a lot, because I couldn't find Topaz anywhere and this one is a lot more pigmented, almost like a liquid lipstick. But these just feel so hydrating on the lips. I also loved Essence Hydra Kiss Lip Oil which is a bit thicker, but also a tad stickier in my opinion. However it gives amazing shine. Essence's Juicy Bomb is so small, so it was perfect for on the go, throw in  the bag or slip in the pocket of my jeans situations. It has that same nourishing like balm formula that is just so nice on the lips.

Setting Spray: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray

For those special occasions I also used setting spray and this one from Charlotte was good. I can't say much, but it sets makeup well and has quite a strong scent. However my clients usually love that scent. I am not a huge fan. Mine is LE scented, but you can buy full sizes or minis.
