Rephr Light Hydration Cream V2.0
I have had this for a while, but haven't used it regularly. It reminds me a lot of the cult Embryolisse cream that every makeup artist uses since forever. This has similar feel on the skin. It feels a bit more lightweight, but it gives your skin that nice smooth, hydrated, plump and nourished look to the skin. It's a great base for makeup and you need very little of it. It's formulated with some silicones for that smooth glide, centella asiatica, panthenol, hyaluronic acid, squalene, niacinamide and many more great ingredients. It's fragrance free and essential oil free, so basically targeting every skin. The packaging is metallic and you get one of those metallic wringers to help you squeeze out every last bit. This will last me over a year probably. Perfect for makeup artists as well.
Skincyclopedia Face Serum Anti-Aging With Retinol and Squalane
Another skincare brand that has come to out local DM. These days whenever I step into DM, I find some new brand and I am not mad about it. There is so many good products to choose from these days. Skincyclopedia seems like one of those brands with those simple ingredients lists without too much fluff about it. It reminds me of The Ordinary actually. This serum has squalane and 1% retinol in it (retinol and retinyl palmitate) combined with some sunflower seed oil and vitamin E. Very basic, but works. It's basically an oil with retinol. Oil is quite lightweight and that's coming from someone with combination to oily skin. It's almost like dry oil texture, so not too greasy. I have started using it now that the weather has turned cold and my skin likes it. I haven't felt any irritation, like I sometimes do from other retinols and retinoids, which I love. I usually keep it simple, something lightweight and moisturizing underneath it and this on top. Two steps. So far I have notice the change it my texture, which is a lot smoother.
Skincyclopedia Face Cream-Serum With Niacinamide and Prebiotic SPF30
Cream serum with SPF of 30 is lightweight, almost liquid serum like formula. It's very lightweight and thin, more than any European SPF I have tried so I have a feeling a lot of us would love this formula. It has a bit of that white tint to it, but it's so lightweight that it absorbs effortlessly into the skin leave no white cast. However the finish does have that proper glow to it. Even though the texture is lightweight the finish on the skin is dewy. I actually don't mind it now in colder months, but in summer I would probably avoid it. For me personally SPF of 30 is better for colder months anyway. I always opt for 50 or 50+ in the hot summer sun. It also has niacinamide high on the list, right after water which is nice too. It's also a good makeup base, no piling.
Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation - Fiji
I have Nars Radiant concealers and I was itching to try at least one of their foundations. Let me start by that I failed with color choice. I was buying it blind online and Fiji is too dark for me and too yellow. However I have foundation mixers and color correctors so I made it work. It's a liquid foundation that gives me a good medium coverage. It can be built up to look full coverage. It's quite lightweight in my opinion, but gives good pigmentation. The finish they describe as natural and I would say it's a natural matte finish. I'm not sure dry skin would love it. It's definitely very long wearing. I like it, though I would still not say it's my favorite. YSL All Hours Luminous Matte is still my favorite in that price range.
Trend It Up Powder Blush Mit Glow Effect - 080
This is the blush that I was hunting down in my local DM and whenever I was there it was sold out. I've seen Laetitia Lemak talk about it as a good color dupe for the infamous Dior pink blush and I wanted to try it not because of that, but because of a proper cool tone that it has. I don't have any such color in my collection. The color can look intimidating in the pan, but it's very buildable. You can apply super light layer with fluffy brush or build it up to look quite pigmented. It has lovely cooler sheen to it, but it's not metallic or shimmery in any way. It's that perfect satin sheen that just gives your cheeks some dimension. I was afraid the color wouldn't suit me, but I love it. It gives my warmer complexion that proper I-just-came-out-of-cold pink cheek look. The formula is just lovely and so affordable. I don't have any problem blending it.
e.l.f. Cream Glide Lip Liner - Baddest Beige
For the past months I have been on a hunt for good drugstore lip formulas and I tried a lot larely. New e.l.f. Cream Glide Lip Liners were quite popular and since I love e.l.f. products in general I knew the formula would be nice. The formula is just as it says - creamy and glides on like a dream. It's not "too" creamy, just enough. It's easy to smudge and blend out as well. I wouldn't say it's particularly long lasting, because most creamy formulas aren't. I went for a safe nude option called Baddest Beige and it's a mid tone brown that leads more warm than cool toned.
Avon Creme Legend Lipstick - Iconic
Avon lipsticks are one of my favorite and have been for a while. I am not sure if they still sell this one, but it's one of those proper creamy formulas with good pigmentation and a comfortable wear. I pulled out this shade again now that I like to include more pink toned nudes in my wear. In the summer I usually opts for only nude colors. This is that pinky brown that will suit most skin tones. I've been pairing it with my neutral lip liners.
Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil
I love a good shampoo, conditioner and mask, but I was never really a fan of hair oils. As someone with very fine hair, most oils just weight my hair down and make it look greasy. So I usually avoided them or used them sparingly. But whenever I looked for which one to get, Olaplex oil always came up as one great for most hair textures and I can say I like it. It has fairly lightweight formula for an oil. On the hands it almost feels like dry oil. I always apply oil on damp hair before blow drying, because if I apply it on dry hair, it can look greasy. I need like 3 to 4 drops for my whole hair and I know this tiny bottle will last me a lifetime. It has sort of fruity scent in my opinion. Nothing too strong that would linger on the hair.
