Sweet Valentine Makeup

I've decided to make two Valentine's Day makeup looks this time. By no means, is this look only appropriate for Valentine's Day dates. It's just sort of themed this way, because pinks and purples usually remind me of something romantic. This first look is a bit more subtle and softer version that I would rock to any occasion. There's more emphasis on the eyes, which to me are one of the features that you want to play up when having a flirty date.

I started my eye makeup with eyeshadow primer and a bone colored matte shade all over the lid. As always, I wanted brown crease so I went in the crease with a very light warm matte brown. I darkened it a bit with a more neutral medium matte brown. Then I used matte chocolate brown and defined outer corner of the eye.

On the lid I applied a mixture of shimmery golden pink and shimmery cranberry pink. Because it was a bit too understated, I went in with more of that cranberry pink and deepened it a bit. I went for a winged liner look with a gel like black pencil. For a softer line, I also went over it with a matte black eyeshadow and kind of smoked it out on the edges. I used the same matte shades on the lower lash line.

For a really defined wing, I recommend using concealer under the line to sharpen it and make it look cleaner. I also applied beige golden highlighter on the inner corners. Because I don't love the feel of full falsies, I went for half false eyelashes that I only applied on the outer half of the lid to give me even more winged out look. I also applied mascara on my natural lashes.

On my face I used dewy BB cream mixed with a moisturizing lightweight foundation for a natural finish. I also powdered a bit with a loose powder and applied a bit of bronzer and contour to my cheeks. But I kept it all very natural and subtle. I also used a lot of light shimmery bronzer to make the skin look fresher and give it a nice glow. I used light mauve shade as a blush to keep it in natural theme.

Because it's all about the soft warm eyes, I used pigmented mauve pink shade of lip gloss on the lips to make them plump and keep it looking like your lips but better.

Modern Mermaid Makeup

Hey Beauties!

It might be September, but the weather is still pretty much summery. I am also still in colorful mood and that is why I created this modern mermaid makeup look that you can still sport, if you have the courage to do so. It's a bit bolder, but still pretty much wearable.

I started my makeup with bone colored matte shade all over the lid. Then I added some neutral medium matte brown in the crease to just give it some shade. I added matte blue on the center of the lid. Then I deepened outer crease with dark navy matte blue shade. Don't know why it looks like it's not blended out. My camera is playing me.

I added black gel liner and winged it out a bit. Then I went over it with a chrome silver liquid liner and made black liner a bit thinner just to add definition. Around my lower lash line I applied pastel blue shade to make the bottom a bit more romantic and less heavy.

I also added shimmery pale yellow shade in the inner corner and up above the crease. This makes the whole look a bit more sparkly and romantic. For my mascara I wanted defined lashes and to still show through my shimmery silver liner.

I applied my usual foundation mixed with some glowy fluid. I used a lot of bronzer all over my face and some golden highlighter. As a blush I used peachy brown shade. On my lips I used matte medium brown shade. I wanted all focus on eyes and everything else is very neutral.

I love the mix blue shades as well as metallic silver and gold. It looks colorful, kind of smoky, but also a bit romantic and dreamy.

Review: Avon Dreams Eau de Parfum

Hey Beauties!

I've had some great fragrance suggestions lately and today I have another one for you. This one is for all of you romantic sophisticated souls. It's Avon's new fragrance called Dreams and needles to say that it does smell like a dream while you're wearing it.

It comes in a pastel pink box with darker pink ribbons over it. Those are actually 3D printed on the box. Design is simplistic and romantic.

The glass bottle is very classic. On the bottom it is cut in a way that it almost looks like crystals or ice. The top also has the same design and reminds me of diamonds. On the bottom of the top is like a blurred part which is shaped like a ribbon. I would say it's a nice mix of something classic, but with a few eye catching details on the bottom and top.

Spray is gold and it produces fine mist.

In the bottle you get 50 ml of fragrance and it currently costs 19.90€ (Slovenia), although regular price is 26€. You can get Avon products from Avon sales people or just contact Avon team in your country.

It's described as a floral fragrance (but I would almost say floral woody) and it has notes of watery plum, pink rose and intense wood

The first this that I smell, when I spray it on my skin, is flowers or rather rose. Right after a few second it stats to get a more subtly sweet fruit scent of watery plum. The rose and plum create this very subtle romantic light scent that is more on the sweet side rather then being very floral. As the fragrance develops further, I get a bit stronger wood base, which gives this fragrance sophistication and long lasting power.

I thought that this was going to be more floral, considering the description, but in fact it's very subtly romantic and it has a bit of sweetness to it, while the wood makes it more grounded and a lot more sophisticated smelling. I am not a fan of floral fragrances and I think this is a nice blend of fruitiness, slight sweetness, wood and a hint of flowers. Nothing is overpowering and the blend of all these together creates a very romantic and sophisticated fragrance.

The staying power is very good. I can still smell it at the end of the day, although it does loose some intensity, naturally. It's eau de parfum so you get what you expect.

What more can I say, except the fact that Avon did it again. I really think their fragrances are amazing and the fact that they come out with so many new scents is commendable. I've been wearing it this past month all the time. It feels a bit like a pamper product.

Nisem ljubiteljica cvetličnih vonjev in zato se mi zdi ta kombinacija nežne sadnosti, rahle sladkobe, lesa in čisto malo cvetličnosti ravno pravšnja.

To dišavo sem nosila cel prejšnji mesec. Parfum imam za izdelek za razvajanje, saj ima tak blagodejen vonj.

*Izdelek mi je poslalo podjetje Avon.

Freshy Glowy Spring Makeup

Hey Beauties!

Year 2016 is supposedly going to be all about fresh glowy skin. Experts say contouring is "out" and highlighting or rather strobing (a new fancy word) is "in". I was never a fan of heavy contoured faces, but I still like to contour. My face is fairy wide, so I like making it seem a bit thinner with a light use of bronzer or contouring shades. But you also know that I am a huge fan of highlighters. I almost buy every highlighter that I see in person. It's an obsession really. That's why I am so happy that highlighter is absolutely popular and wanted product for this year. That just means I can shine all day every day - yeah!

When it comes to foundations I've always liked higher coverage and matte finish, but lately, I've come to like lighter coverage and a bit of that dew. Probably also because of the dull winter days. Let's just say, I'm trying to embrace my oilier T-zone this year and not hide it.

Today's makeup is a very fresh glowy spring inspired makeup with hazy purple eyes and freshly pink lips. Did I say I love Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette?! My god, is this good or what. It's incredible and the shades are right up my alley. Today's whole look is made with this palette.

For the eyes, I applied matte nude white all over my lid to set the primer and make it easier to blend all the other shades. Then I used warm light matte brown in the crease and diffused it out and up. I used pinkish shade with gold sheen and applied it in the inner half of the lid, bringing it towards the outer corner. I also took this shade in my inner corner.

For my outer corner I used shimmery taupe-ish purple shade and blend it into the gold. I applied my black liquid eye liner and I tried to go from a very thin line to a thicker. At the end I winged it out and a bit up. I tried to keep the wing short.

On my lower lash line I also used warm light matte brown and over it I used that taupe-ish shimmer purple.

Since I wanted the eyes to look almost a bit hazy romantic, I did used false lashes. They were pretty natural, but gave me some more length and definition. I have to apologize for my false eye lashes sticking out in the inner corner. For some reason my glue just doesn't work sometimes.

On my face I used a medium coverage foundation with a more dewy finish. I also concealed any imperfections and highlighted under my eyes. I applied powder only to my T-zone, where I get oily sooner. I used a very light dust of bronzer around my outer edges of the face. This just gave me a bit of color and a very slight definition. I applied shimmery champagne gold highlighter all over my cheeks from  the tops of cheeks back to the cheek bone. I also applied it on the nose, Cupid's bow, a tiny bit on the chin and a bit on top of my brow arch. On my cheeks I used a shimmery, but very lightly colored pink blush. It all married together, the highlighter and blush and it created a very glowy look.

On the lips I used a brighter, but creamy pink lipstick. I tried to blot it in, to make it look more like a stain and not so much like a full on lipstick.

It's definitely a lot lighter coverage for me and a more dewy finish. It looks natural and the glow makes it look very fresh. I also used some of the typical spring colors, at least to me. It's a natural, but still playful look, which by the way, you can definitely wear on Valentine's Day.

Romantic Siren

Hey Beauties!

A few days ago I got a wonderful package from Avon cosmetics - see here. As soon as I got my hands on their Supershock Vivid Liquid Eye Shadows I had an idea to use them in this look. The look was inspired by Kiko's Limited Edition called Midnight Siren. I wanted to use liquid eye shadows to create hypnotizing inviting gaze that sirens should embody. Sirens are mythological beings of the sea. They were said to be beautiful and lured nearby sailors with their music and voices to shipwreck. I find that very interesting and a great idea to recreate for masquerade or Halloween events, if you want to go with something more subtle and romantic.

I always say that my makeup looks are simple, but this really is. Anyone can do this, no excuses.

I used 7 shades of Avon Supershock Vivid Liquid Eye Shadows. You can use cream eyeshadows or just go with metallic or shimmery powder eyeshadows. It's more about the shades, although I love the metallic effect of these liquid ones.

I started by applying stark blue silver shadow into the inner corner of the eye. I added light pink a bit more towards the lid. Then I used dark violet in the first part of the lid and left some space in the center. I moved on to the outer part of the eye and used emerald green. I also connected it to the bottom lash line. Then I used gold based olive green in the center. I also added a bit of burgundy shade in the crease to connect dark violet and emerald. I used the same shades on the bottom.

I didn't really blend these out, because I wanted to keep the intensity. The whole look is more like a painting technique and it's just a lot of shades with metallic finish put on one lid. The messier the better in my opinion.

I skipped the liner. Instead I used fluttery long natural false lashes and applied them close to the lash line. I put on some mascara and eyes are done.

For the sake of this being a bit more shimmery and hypnotizing, I also used some nail rhinestones and glued them under the arch of the brows and around the outer corner of the eye. I also used one small one in the inner corner of the eye, to make them pop.

I used the same liquid eyeshadows on my lips. First I used the emerald green one all over the lips. I also added stark blue silver in the very center of the eye, which created a little ombre.

You can use cream eyeshadows or lipsticks and go over them with silver and blue powder eyeshadows.

On my face I used foundation, concealer and powder. I also used cream light gold highlighter and heavily highlighted cheeks, on top of brows, nose, Cupid's bow and chin. I went over it with silver powder eyeshadow to intensify it. I used blue shimmery powder eyeshadow to contour sides of my face and nose. I also went over contours and highlights with emerald and silver liquid eyeshadows. Just to get the same color all around the face.

If you decided to recreate this, you can also wet your hair for a better effect. You can even use oil on your hair. It will give you the same wet effect plus you'll be giving yourself an oil mask for the whole evening - two in one.

Rose Gold Makeup

Hey Beauties!

This is one of those makeup looks that came spontaneously and I decided to call it rose gold, since it is rose pink and gold. It's one of those more romantic, doll-like feminine makeups, that is very wearable and would suit anyone. I hope you like it ;).

I have actually done this makeup on some basics makeup, which I did for reviewing purposes. I had firstly applied yellow gold cream eye shadow on the lid, up to the crease. Then I added rose eye shadow around the lower lash line and in the crease and pulled it a bit up. I then added matte bright pink makeup in the crease and a bit up.

To make look more wearable and deeper in the outer corner, I used red based brown and put it directly into the crease of the eye, concentrating more on the outer part. I also used it around the outer part of the lower lash line, to make it look a bit deeper. I used gold pink highlighter in the inner corner of the eye.

This is the part, where you add winged black liner - but since I already had it, I just intensified it and put on a bit more mascara.

Very simple look. That gold eye shadow pops out anytime you close your eyes.

I decided to use one of my favorite lipsticks, which is a mixture of pink and peach.

As for the rest of the face, I used gold rose highlighter on the higher points of my face, a bit of bronzer around the outer part of the face and dusty rose blush on the cheeks.

I have mentioned several times that I am not a fan of pink, but those sort of dusty rose shades really appeal to me. How about you? Do you like to incorporate pink in your makeup or not?
