I have mentioned, many times, that Joico K-Pak is my favorite high end hair care range. I have first tried their products when I started writing my blog and since then, they always found their place in my hair care routine. I have tried a few products from their other ranges, but K-Pak and K-Pak Color Therapy remains my favorite.

Review: Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner

Hey Beauties!

Joico is officially my favorite hair care brand. I tend to go for salon hair care when it comes to hair, because I have pretty dry and split ends. Joico K-Pak the original line was one of the first high end hair products I tried and what ever I get from Joico, I seem to love. It's no exception that I love this set from their Color Therapy range. 

You can obviously buy both separately, but I bought them in a set, which usually means it's also cheaper. At the time I bought it at Lookfantastic for around 24€. I always wait for some sort of discount codes. Feelunique has this set on sale right now for 27.71€ here. The prices are different from store to store, but online you can usually get shampoo for 18€ and conditioner for 19€. 

Both contain 300 ml, which is a really good amount. 


Because I started dying my hair back to copper, I decided to try the K-Pak Color Therapy range, which is for damaged hair, but also for colored hair and should prolong your hair color. I can't really comment on that, because my hair color is washing out faster than I can change my nail polish. Seriously, it's ridiculous.

Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Shampoo

Texture of shampoo is like a cream, but runny and it has that pearl white color. It leathers really well, which is always a joy with me. It has hair salon luxury smell. They both do. I really can't explain it, but it reminds me of hair salons. It's more deeper warmer smell. Small amount is enough, but I always shampoo my hair twice. It doesn't strip down my hair or leave it squeaky clean, which I like. The hair actually feels a bit moisturized, but not in any way greasy. 



Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Conditioner

It has a white creamy consistency and it's a lot thicker than shampoo, but not too heavy. It almost feels a bit buttery and greasy, which I love. It's very smooth and stays on the hair well. I feel like it really nourishes and the silicons in it make it a joy to touch. On the hair it leaves moisturizing smooth layer. The hair is easy to detangle and comb through. I find this to be really amazing for my dry ends and it also makes my hair very shiny and smooth. I can safely say that this is my favorite conditioner, because it almost feels like an average hair mask.



As you can see the shampoo (left) is pretty runny and the conditioner (right) is a lot thicker. 


I have already repurchased this set now that it is on sale again. I highly recommend you to try this if you want something to moisturize, smooth and make your hair color look shiny. Joico is officially my favorite hair brand and worth the money (which I can't say for some other brands - yes Kerastase!). I'm planing on trying some of their other hair products as well. I also recommend hair masks from Moisture range.

Hair products haul

Hey Beauties!

My hair products were on its last breath, so I decided I need to take advantage of some deals that are going around on various web shops these days and refill my stock. I actually got a really good deal on Lookfantastic, where the prices for some high end hair products are amazing. I also repurchased one of my favorite conditioners on Iherb and I also added a new addition from Avon. I've decided to go a bit more orange with my hair color, so I know I need good products, because hair color does make my hair very dry and damaged.


I've already tried some products from Joico's regular K-Pak range and loved it. This time, I decided to try shampoo and conditioner from their K-Pak Color Therapy range. It's more geared towards colored hair. The K-Pak range it's for damaged hair, which needs that additional protein. Color Therapy range also helps to protect your hair color. I've used shampoo and conditioner once and loved the smell and how soft my hair were. No tangles and really nourished hair.

Shampoo contains 300 ml and costs around 14€ and conditioner also contains 300 ml and costs around 15€. 


With this festive pack of two, I also got this pretty black wash bag with gold stars.


Lately, I've also had a feeling like my hair was not really being washed. You know when you wash your hair and it feels like it's greasy the same day? That's how I felt with my hair. I have oily roots and very dry ends. So, I decided to purchase clarifying shampoo from Joico's K-Pak range. It's supposed to deeply clean your hair. I've tried it once and haven't found that much of a difference, but I need to try it more to make my opinion on it. I did like the fact that hair was soft and didn't feel dry.

It contains 300 ml and costs around 14€. (Sorry, I forgot to include this one on my groupie photo:) ).


From Iherb I also repurchased one of my favorite conditioners. This is more of a healthy natural choice for those who are looking for something like this. It's Acure Moroccan Argan Stem Cell + Argan Oil conditioner. I've tried another natural conditioner and didn't like it at all, so I decided to get back to this one. It just makes the hair so much more moisturized and healthy looking. I already reviewed it here.

It contains 235 ml and costs around 7€.


I also decided to try my first ever Kerastase hair mask. I decided to go for their Resistance range, which is more for damaged hair, which mine are. It's called Kerastase Resistance Masque Force Architecte. I've read some good reviews about it. It's suppose to be a reconstructing mask that intensely replenishes brittle and damaged hair. I haven't tried it yet, so I can't report my first impressions of it. 

It contains 200 ml of product and costs around 28€.


I've also wanted some leave-in products. I do have two of Kerastase thermo masks, but I wanted something that looked more like an oil or serum. This Kerastase Reflection Fluide Chroma Riche is for dry highlighted or color-treated hair. It should basically detangle the hair, make it looks more shiny and protect the color. I've tried it once and wow. My hair felt really soft and shiny. Plus I didn't have those naughty knots that I always get after drying the hair and washing it.

It contains 125 ml and costs around 20€.


I've also added another hair oil for my hair. It's from Avon called Advanced Techniques Moroccan Oil. This oil is supposed to nourish the hair and make them smooth. I've only tried it once and I liked the fact that it wasn't too greasy for my fine hair. I also love the smell of it. It's sort of a typical Avon bubble gum smell. 

It contains 30 ml and costs between 3.50 - 6.50€ (depending on offers).


Kerastase and Joico are my favorite high end or even luxury brands for hair. The products are pretty expensive, but you definitely get a good product for that price. I haven't tried anything from those two brands, that I wouldn't like. I definitely advise you to find the range suited for your hair and try some products, if you have a chance. Acure conditioner is one of the best choices for dry hair if you're looking for a more natural product. Avon oil seems very popular and I'll need to try it a bit more to decided if I recommend it to you.

Joico K-Pak products

I have a long, thin, damaged hair that have been colored too many times. I have been light brown (sort of dark blond), orange, caramel, red, dark brown...basically everything except blond and black. And my hair noticed it. So it put up a fight with me. I had no choice but to decide to try something new.

I wanted to use something better for my hair. Some new hair brand. I found a brand called Joico. It's an American hair brand. They have products for different types of hair- thick, thin, dry, colored...you name it. So I decided to buy something.

I have been using these products for one year -on and off... I tried some new products in between. Thought you have to know that I didn't buy all of the range at once. I have been upgrading my range slowly. Because that would have been too much for my student wallet.

My K-Pak range includes: shampoo, conditioner, liquid reconstructor, deep penetrating reconstructor treatment for damaged hair and intense hydrator treatment for dry damaged hair.



Deep penetrating reconstructor treatment for damaged hair
That is definitely the "star" of the whole range. It is sort of a mask for your hair. Some argue that it is not a "real" hair mask, because it says to use it for 5 minutes (i think, something like that). And "real" hair masks should supposedly be put on for at least 15 minutes. I personally liked it a lot. It did make my hair look healthier and moisturized. The damage was less seen, then without using it. It has a really funny smell, sort of like banana..and consistency is weird - it looks like it'd gone bad. It's very liquid, and it looks like baby food.


Intense hydrator treatment for dry damaged hair
This product goes hand in hand with the previous. When I was using the deep penetrating mask, I always used intense hydrator afterwards. Because the deep penetrating mask would give your hair proteins for damage and the intense hydrator would give them moisture. That said, it is a great product on its own. Pretty thick consistency, no weird smell and it makes hair feel very moisturized and soft.


Liquid reconstructor
This product you spray on your hair after you have washed them and before drying. It is a supplement to the previous two products. It makes hair very soft, they look moisturized, and they feel a bit oily-but not in a bad way. If you go through the hair with your hand you can feel the grease on your hand, although it doesn't make your hair look greasy or make them look heavy.


Conditioner
Conditioner is a good product. I wouldn't say it is the best out there, but it feels and leaves hair nice. I personally don't believe that a conditioner or shampoo could make a big difference in the health of your hair, but it is nice if it makes your hair feel better, when you wash it. A lot of products made my hair feel dry or look damaged, but not this conditioner. It is good, but I rely on hair masks, more than conditioners, to make them look healthier.

Shampoo
Like I said before, good, but nothing special. It makes hair feel clean, but in order to make them feel  and look healthier, I always need to use a conditioner. Plus I can't brush my hair without using a conditioner.
