Some makeup products like foundations, concealers, mascaras, powders can be very hard to buy for others, because everyone has specific skin tone and taste. But there are some makeup products that I have been loving this year and that I think are foolproof choices for certain makeup lovers. It's a gift guide on what and for who I would buy some of these picks as the holidays are fast approaching and I may help you with some last minute ideas, if you are still searching for what's worth it. Most of these are very affordable too, so great stocking stuffers as well.
e.l.f. Camo Liquid Blush
Liquid and cream products have been go to for clean girl makeup that has been going around this year. I have tried some more popular ones as well, but these Camo Liquid Blushes from e.l.f. don't break the budget and are so pigmented. This is for those lovers of creamy products that love a good flush on the cheek. Easy to blend, high pigment and something that those clean girlies will love. My personal favorite shades are Dusty Rose (brownish peach), Pinky Promise (that universal pink for everyone) and Coral Crush (orange peach for summer days or medium skin tones).
Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer
I have tried so many powder bronzer and this is the one I always go back to. I even use it in my professional makeup kit on clients, because it's so easy to blend, gives the skin a bit of sheen, because it's not completely matte and shade Bronzer works on many different skin tones. I use it on someone with light to medium skin tone. It's nor going to be for fair cool toned skin on deep. It's one of those bronzers I always recommend even to beginners, because it blends out without too much effort.
Essence Jelly Jewels Glitter Stick
These are so much fun. I can see this being liked across different ages for any makeup lover that just loves a good sparkle and glitter. It's a mess free fromula, because it's in a stick format, water based which gives it cooling effect on the skin. Don't throw away the small plastic top, because if you do, it will dry out. You can apply it directly on the lids. This glitter with some transition matte shade in the crease and you have your holiday look that makes your eyelids look glossy and sparkles better than your Christmas tree. My favorite shade is 02 Diamond Dust which is the sparkliest silver cool toned glitter. I also have 03 Golden Hours which is more of a copper peachy tone with multi colored sparkles.
Maybelline Build-a-Brow Brow Pen
I would buy this for that one friend that loves a good brow, but just doesn't have as many brow hairs as she would like. It's definitely for someone experienced with makeup, because it can be harder to work with. Pen format with super thin brush tip that lets you create individual hair like strokes and fill your brow in to look super full. There is also a nice shade range. I use Ash Brown which is perfect for cooler brows that want to look darker then they are - medium tone.
Another makeup gift that you can't go wrong with, if you buy it for someone that loves a shiny lip that isn't lipstick, but still gives you some color and keeps your lips hydrated. This is suitable even for very dry lips. I have those too and this is one of the rarest lip glosses that actually makes my lips feel more hydrated when I take it off thanks to the hyaluronic acid in the formula. It's non sticky formula with good shine and great hydration. There is a whole host of shades you can imagine, but I do prefer nudes. 009 Topaz is the shade you can't go wrong with - nude brown with subtle shimmer that makes your lips look better. I also love 008 Stone which is a bit more cooler brown, but still in the nude family and without sparkles. You can also buy baby pink shades which will be great lipstick toppers for those more adventurous with makeup.
NYX Lip I.V. Hydrating Gloss Serum
These are my latest obsession. You can impress someone with these that loves lip products, but maybe hasn't tried this serum like formula that also works as a stain. It's another non-sticky formula with nice hydration and nourishment. It gives more color than your regular lip gloss, I'd say it's closer to liquid lipstick, but you can also apply it sheer. It wears beautifully through the day and as it fades you are left with a very natural stain that gives your lips that longevity without the heaviness of a traditional lipstick. You can also apply it, leave it for a few minutes and remove the top layer so you are just left with the stain. There is a lot shades available and innitial shade may look different from the actual stain so I would say try it in the store, if you can. My favorite is 02 Hydra-Honey which is a very wearable brownish nude that turns into a very natural stain that leans more pink toned. 07 Bubblegum Burst is one of the most wearable dirty pinks and it will give your lips that slight pink stain that looks very flattering on most skin tones. It gives you needed color without being vibrant or too bold.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray
This is the most expensive product in this gift guide, but I feel like if you are going to buy someone makeup related you might as well give them something that will makeup them feel special. This is for that one person that maybe doesn't like to splurge, but you know that everyone needs a good setting spray. Plus they have these in mini version packaged with 2 so one can be for you. It's a nice setting spray that has that luxurious scent and does a good job of merging different makeup layers together and makes it look like really good skin. Setting sprays can prolong the wear of makeup a bit as well, but if you want to go for a very long lasting look, you would invest in fixing spray. Setting spray is just that luxurious last step in your routine that makes that small difference and makes you feel special.
I saved the best for last. If you know of any makeup lover, you know makeup brushes are probably the best investment you can get them. Good makeup brush will last you years if not life time, if you take good care of it. Rephr does the best natural bristled brushes from goat's hair that are hand made in Japan. The quality is unbeatable, especially for the price. You can invest in some basic sets or choose individual brushes. My suggestions are - 05 (universal face brush for powder, bronzer, blush), 16 (tapered brush perfect for the crease), 01 (the classic blending eye brush perfect for anyone), 03 (the best pencil brush for your lower lash line or smudging), 23 (the thinnest pencils brush ever, perfect for eyeliner or precision smudging). But honestly whichever you get, they will probably love them all.
