Asian Skincare: Skin1004 Madagascar Centella (Cleansing Oil, Ampoule), Hada Labo Cleansing Oil, A'Pieu Pure Block Aqua Gel, Canmake Tokyo Mermaid Skin Gel UV

I've shared my love of Asina skin care many times and every now and then I buy a new product that impresses me, but just forget to post a review of on my blog. So in the future I'll try to make more of these short reviews of the products that I have tried and like.

Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil

I have come across Skin1004 as a brand because of their focus on particular ingredient Madagascar centella. Centella asiatica is one of my favorite skin care ingredients, because it has great healing capabilities as well as soothing. Centella is known as tiger grass, because tigers would chew on it after fighting to help them heal their wounds with it. It's quite a well known ingredient in Asian skin care.

This is lightweight cleansing oil which feels light on the skin, but it has that oily feel that makes it spread evenly and it melts off even long lasting makeup. It turns into milk as you put water on it. I tried it over my eyes as well and it didn't irritate, but my eyes are usually not very sensitive anyway. It doesn't leave any oily residue, but I always do a double cleanse anyway. You need only a pump or two for the whole face, which means it will last you a while.

It has centella asiatica as an extract in it on the base of sunflower seed oil. There is a very faint sort of fresh herbal scent, but barely noticeable.

Ingredients: Ethylhexyl Stearate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Centella Asiatica Extract (10,000ppm), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Limonene, Linalool

It comes in a very chic looking design. I love that the bottle is plastic (easy to carry) and the design in general is very simplistic and modern. Pump works really nice.

In it is 200 ml of product and the price is around 19€.

Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule

This is 100% centella asiatica extract which is what I have been looking for a while. Most skin care products have a certain percentage of centella asiatica in it, but this is pure extract. I've talked about the soothing, calming and healing abilities of this ingredient already. My skin loves it. It always calms my skin, soothes it and keeps it balanced and in good shape. I used it all through winter in place of a serum and my skin always looked great. It's perfect for those that have irritated, sensitive skin and those that just love to introduce calming and soothing products to their skin.

It has lightweight almost a bit viscose liquid texture that soaks into the skin and basically leaves no finish behind. That's why it's perfect for all skin types. I usually slathered this on its own or used it as a base for other serums.

Ingredienst: Centella Asiatica Extract (100%)

It comes in a heavy glass bottle with a dropper. Packaging is absolutely my esthetic and the design is on point. It's a product worth displaying on your shelf.

In it is 100 ml of product and it costs around 15€. With Skin1004 you can always purchase mini sizes as well. Which I have done in the past. It's a good way to try out the formula to see, if you like it before committing to buying a full size.

Rohto Mentholatum Hada Labo Gokujyun Oil Cleansing

Another great cleansing oil. It has that same liquid oily feel as Skin1004, though I feel it's a tad thicker and heavier than Skin1004. But just a tad. It has that same spreadability and it removes long lasting makeup really well. I used it over the eyes as well and you don't need a lot of rubbing to melt everything off. It again turns into a milky consistency as you splash it with water and there is no oily residue after you wash it off. I'd say both this one and Skin1004 are great, but for some reason I liked Skin1004 better - probably because of centella in it.

Ingredients are apparently different with each series, but since the packaging is written only in Japanese, I can't read it. So I found ingredients list on one of online shops. I believe this one is olive oil based with some hyaluronic acid in it as well.

Ingredients: Ethylhexyl palmitate, triethylhexanoin, sorbes tetraisostearate-30, PEG-20 glyceryl triisostearate, olive fruit oil, water, sodium acetyl hyaluronate (super hyaluronic acid), hydroxypropyltrimonium hyaluronate (skin-adsorbed hyaluronic acid Acid), jojoba seed oil, (palmitic acid / ethyl hexanoic acid) dextrin, butyl carbamate propionyl iodide, BHT

It comes in a plastic packaging with a pump that works great. This packaging and design looks a little more basic and cheap, but again, it's about the product inside anyway.

In it is 200 ml and it costs around 13€. I love that you can also get refills of this oil in simple plastic bag packaging, so you don't need to buy the whole bottle again and it's cheaper.

A'Pieu Pure Block Aqua Sun Gel SPF50+, PA+++

A'Pieu is a sub brand of Missha and I've already tried out A'Pieu Pure Block Natural Sun Cream Daily SPF45 and really liked it. This time I gave a try to the Aqua Gel version and it didn't disappoint either. It's a sunscreen with chemical filters and as per usual with Korean skin care, a very lightweight one with no white cast.

It's white light cream that almost feels a bit like a gel cream once you spread it. It soaks into the skin leaving no white cast, because it's so lightweight in texture. There is a very fresh almost herbal scent to it. It gives the skin luminous sheen, but doesn't feel greasy or slippery. It's perfect everyday SPF. I usually won't rely on Asian sunscreen for a heavy duty sun like on vacation or by the pool. It's just my personal preference, but for day to day running errands, this is perfect texture. It also wears good under makeup.

Ingredients: Water, Alcohol Denat., Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Octoryylene, Butylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Dipropylene Glycol, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Adansonia Digitata Seed Extract, Isahexadecane, Ethylhexylgkycerin, Polysorbate 60, Acrylates /C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polysorbate 80, Fragrance, Potassium Hydroxide, 1,2-Hexanediol, BHT, Disodium EDTA, Glycerin, Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Saussurea Involucrata Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid - Contains Limonene, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional

I like how lightweight it is, but it still gives the skin that very healthy sheen. I would prefer to use it in colder months in general. For summer this can be too shiny for my combination skin. I usually opt for more mattifying formulas in summer.

It comes in a simple light blue plastic tube. You can control the amount easily and I love the squeeze tube. In it is 50 ml of product and it costs around 8€.

Canmake Tokyo Mermaid Skin Gel UV SPF50+ PA++++

This SPF has been on my wishlist for a while and since I purchased the first tube, I've loved it immediately and have since purchased several more. It's currently my favorite Asian SPF, but I am always on a hunt to try new ones.

Lightly yellow colored gel cream that spreads with ease. It soaks into the skin quick and almost sets a bit, but leaves on your skin a glowy sheen that isn't greasy or slides anywhere. I feel that this one sets better than A'Pieu and I love that is unscented, because it means less irritation which I sometimes might get from perfumes. It is also a great base for makeup.

Ingredients: Water, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (Aka Octinoxate), Butylene Glycol, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (Aka Uvinal A Plus), Zinc Oxide, Methylheptyl Ester Of Lauric Acid, Titanium Dioxide, Dimethicone, Bis Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (Aka Tinosorb S), Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Sodium Hydroxyethyl Acrylate / Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer Diisostearyl Malate, Hydroxide Al, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Stearic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Polyglyceryl-3 Polydimethylsiloxiethyl Dimethicone, Polyhydroxystearyl Acid, Jojoba Ester, Xanthan Gum, Arginine, Hyaluronic Acid, Alpha-Glucan, Phytic Acid, Saxifraga Sarmentosa Extract, Glucosylceramide, Cherry Leaf Extract, Job’s Tears Seed Extract, Morus Alba Root Extract, Onethera Biennis Seed Extract, Silver Oxide, Queen Of The Meadow Flower Extract, Bilberry Leaf Extract, Artichoke Leaf Extract

It's super lightweight and it wears so well under makeup that is why I love it so much. It can be used for the body as well, but the tube is quite small for that. I'd say that is the only downside, I use it up quick. There is a white version as well as some other colored ones, but I just use clear one.

It comes in a silver squeeze tube with small opening.  In it is 40 grams of product and it costs around 11€

Some of Asian skin care can be bought in some Slovenian online stores like missha.si, all4skin.net, skintrick.si and dragocena.si. You can also buy some on Notino, Stylevana and other online stores that ship worldwide.
