Hidden Glam

Cut crease makeup is extremely popular on Instagram these days and I've been seeing it paired with glittery liner outline for that extra pop of glam. Naturally, I wanted to try it for myself, although my eye shape is definitely not made for these kind of looks. I made it to fit my preference and eye shape. It looked so much prettier in real life, because glittery anything just doesn't look as nice on the photos as it does in real life.

I started my eyes by applying a few warmer matte brown shades in the crease. Then I took more chocolate brown and applied it only on the outer corner. On the lid I used high coverage concealer to carve out cut crease. I went above my natural crease, because I have small and fairly deep set eyes. This step you'll need to figure out for yourself on how high up you want to go. I've seen it being really high, but on my eye shape this would look too out of place. I set cut crease with a matte bone colored shadow (so that shadows on top won't grab on it and look patchy) and applied a mix of two highlighting gold and rose gold shades over it.

Then I went back with matte brown colors and diffused the edge at the outer part of the lid. I wanted sparkle to only be in the inner part of the lid. I took shimmery metallic mauve liquid shadow and applied it as a glittery liner with small tip brush to two thirds of my lid. This part looks so much prettier in life, because glitter never translates as nice on the photos. For my winged liner I chose very dark brown color.

I applied lots of mascara and skipped falsies, because otherwise this crease liner would be hidden on my lids. On the lower water line I also applied peach nude pencil to make eyes look more fresh awake. In the inner corner I applied that mix of highlighters that I used on the lid.

Because my eyes are so deep set, I get a hint of that glitter liner when I look up, so it's essentially a hidden glam effect.

On my face I used glowy primer, foundation, concealer and powder. I used very pale bronzer all over and bronze pink shade as a blush to look very natural. I went heavy with my highlighter and applied mix of that champagne and rose gold that I used on the lids.

On my lips I mixed baby pink and light brown liquid lipstick to give me that nice glow as well as color.

I will definitely do this kind of look again, because that hint of sparkly glitter looked so cute. I kept all my shadows very subtle and neutral looking on purpose. Because they all look similar, I don't get any harsh lines that would accentuate my eye shape, which as I said before, is not ideal for making intricate sharp eye looks. This kind of look would be nice to edge up your daily makeup for when you have a special occasion, as it still looks very soft.
