2025 Favorites - Skin, Hair, Fragrance

I am three months too late for this post, but since having a baby, I have a lot less time for anything else. So I think this is post is long overdue, but it's still here. Since I won't have time for monthly favorites anymore, I can at least do yearly. Here is all the skin and body care I loved previous year.

Hada Labo Make-Up Removing Face Cleansing Oil

One of the skincare brands that I have been loving previous year was definitely Hada Labo Tokyo. There isn't a product I tried from them that I didn't like. This is one of the best cleansing oils that we can get in our drugstores. It's that liquid fairly thin oil that Asian brands do so well. It massages well into the skin, removes all sorts of makeup and turns milky once you wash it off with water. I only dislike the packaging, because it spills the product and it's not easy to dose it. A pump would be much better.

Hada Labo Gentle Hydrating Cleanser All-In-One

This is one of my favorite cleansers in general. I have repurchased several tubes already. This is thick and you only need a pea sized amount, but it lathers so well and gives your skin that nice freshly clean look without feeling stripped or dry.

Hada Labo Lotion Glow Brightening Hydrator and Hada Labo Super Hydrator

These are both very nice lotions. Super Hydrator (not on the photo) is definitely lighter, more watery and it's one of those that will work for all skin types. Glow Brightening version is a bit thicker with some brightening ingredients and it gives you nice hydration. You need very little of these products, because the formula is slippery and it just feels super hydrating. Oily skin could use this as moisturizer and just layer it up.

Hada Labo Wrinkle Corrector Serum

In my eyes this is more of a light moisturizer with retinol. It also contains some nice nourishing and hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin and squalane. I don't know the percentage of retinyl palmitate in it, but it seems gentle enough as I can use it every evening and it doesn't irritate me, but it keeps skin's surface smooth and moisturized.

Hada Labo Mega Illuminating Moisturizing Cream and Hada Labo Brightening Multi-Revitalizer Super Hydrogel

These are both very nice lightweight, gel type of creams. I honestly can't see a difference between the two, maybe one is a tad more nourishing. I like their formulas, because they feel lightweight, but are hydrating and still feel nourishing enough and give your skin that plump glow effect.

Olival Micro Balm

Olival is another skincare brand that I have tried many products from in the past year and none let me down. There were just some that I liked more than others, but in general I can safely say that this is another one of my favorite skincare brands now. I've usually had cleansing oils, so this is one of the rare balms that I tried. It's quite thick, but I love how luxurious it feels once you massage it between your hands and it melts into this rich oil emulsion that is great for removing makeup and SPF. I love to use it to massage my face in the evening as well as it gives the skin just enough slip. I have my second pot now and I just love my quick evening ritual with it.

Olival AHA PHA Peeling Toner

I was pregnant most of the previous year, so I avoided any strong active ingredients in this time, salicylic acid as well. I've already had this toner, so I repurchase it and again loved it just as much as the first time. It's gentler exfoliating with PHA and AHAs. It keep my skin's texture just smooth enough, but is still very gentle. I can use this through all seasons. It's my recommendation to anyone that's just starting out with acids, because it's so gentle.

Olival Amino Activator

This feels like properly nourishing formula, but with a lightweight moisturizer feel. It has amino acid complex with a bunch of other nice ingredients that make this great for irritated, sensitive skin that is reactive and needs some help to feel hydrated and balanced. I love the pump on it and the fact that you need very little in order to get that nicely nourished layer on the skin, but it doesn't feel heavy at all. This was such a nice product especially for winter when my skin was drier.

Olival Hydro Cica Face Mask

I use it as a moisturizer, because it just has such nice ingredients, including my favorite centella asiatica which is my favorite ingredient if you have sensitive or reactive skin. For a face mask this is surprisingly lightweight. It's more of a gel cream hybrid in texture and it just feel so nicely hydrating, but lightweight at the same time. I love this in the summer as well as winter, I just layer more product under it in the winter. It's definitely one of my favorite Olival products.

Olival Amla and Olival Fenugreek Shampoo

I am also currently trying a few new hair products from them and I really like them. These two shampoos I was testing and I really liked both. I usually don't like trying new shampoos and just stick to what I know and love, but these I would definitely repurchase. Fenugreek formula is a tad more nourishing, but still light enough for my fine hair and I will probably repurchase it for my post-partum hair loss journey. Amla is more for oilier roots, which mine are in general, but last year I was pregnant and my hair got a lot drier as well as scalp, so I can't say how well it works on properly oily hair. But I loved the feel of the shampoo, because it felt like more of deeply cleansing shampoo, but not stripping on the hair. I was also pleasantly surprised by the sweet herbal scent of both, really nice.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water

I've used Bioderma for probably more than 15 years already. It's a staple in my routine, always in my skincare drawer. This is one of the first micellar waters in the world and the most known for that same reason. But I just love it so much, because it's one of the rare micellar waters that I can use on my eyes and it doesn't sting or irritate as many other do. I use Bioderma mostly for removing eye makeup. I am not a fan of removing eye makeup with oils and balms, so I prefer this micellar water and it does a good job even with waterproof makeup, but you have to leave it on for a bit of time to really melt it away. It will probably be my favorite micellar water for a lifetime.

Geek & Gorgeous 101 Mighty Melt Cleansing Balm

Another cleansing balm that I really liked. This one is much thinner than Olival. It honestly feels more like coconut oil texture and it melted away makeup beautifully. Balms are probably my favorite in terms of sensory effect in the evening, but oils are usually quicker and more accessible to get here. I would definitely repurchase this one though.

Revox Just Vitamin C 20%

Just as the name suggests, this is just a very nice vitamin C with glycerin that feel so nicely hydrating and not oily like most vitamin C formulas. I hate oily vitamin C, because my skin is combination to oily in the summer and I just don't like using oils in my morning routine under makeup. I have repurchased a second bottle and I like it. I used it all through my pregnancy and I can happily say I have no added hyperpigmentation or melasma, so I think this definitely helped as well, though pregnancy melasma is more hormonal than environmental.

Anua Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner

This product goes a long way, because you really don't need a lot. It's almost water like milky toner with all the hydrating, soothing and nourishing ingredients you want for your skin. I love to use this all through the year as a first step after cleansing. It just give my skin back that moisture and is great for layering under anything. I even use this on my makeup clients, because it's so light it works on all skin types.

Scinic Super Mild Sun Essence SPF50+

I think I already had a few tubes of this one. It's just a very nice affordable Asian SPF that has that milky moisturizer feel, massages well into the skin and leaves hydrated feel and look on the skin. It's not matte, but not too dewy. I will definitely repurchase it, because of its price.

Tocobo Cica Calming Sun Serum SPF50+

Of course this got me because of the cica in it. I love centella asiatica in anything. This is lightly green colored, again very lightweight almost milky moisturizer that is perfect for everyday wear when you don't need too much sun protection. I love to use Asian SPFs in the colder months and they always wear so nicely under makeup. This one has a bit of fresh sweet scent, but it's again a very gentle non-irritating formula for me and I love the sleek packaging, great to trave with.

Biore Skin Aqua Super Moisture UV Gel SPF50+

This was also one of the new for me SPFs that I have tried and again I loved it. It's milky, lightweight, but this one has more of an artificial scent to it, though it feels just as nice on the skin as the other two. I love any SPF that is lightweight, has no white cast and doesn't make me feel greasy and this ticks all the boxes. I am really not picky when it comes to Asian SPFs, so far I liked most of them.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP+M

This past year I tried extra hard to really moisturize my body, because like I mentioned before I was pregnant and I wanted to avoid any stretch marks, which I thankfully did. I moisturized every evening and this Lipikar Baume has just such a nice thicker consistency that feels moisturizing and nourishing. You can still feel the layer of this on your skin once you get in the shower to take it off and that is what I want's from my body moisturizers, to give me protective and nourishing layer that stays on the skin. Lipikar range is especially nice for us with atopic dermatitis. I had the lighter version as well and they are both great.

L'Oreal Elseve Glycolic Gloss Conditioner and 5 Minute Lamination

I love both of these products from this range. Conditioner (not on the photo) is just a very descent drugstore option that detangles the hair and makes the feel softer and more nourished. But in combination with the lamination mask it's even better. It gives me super soft and shiny hair that looks smooth and straight. I have very fine hair, so this is lightweight enough for my hair type.

L'Oreal Elseve Bond Repair Rescue Pre-Shampoo and Conditioner

Another L'Oreal range for the hair that I love. Pre-Shampoo works basically the same as the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate (which I have). With the helps of acids it sort of smooths the look of your damaged cuticles and makes your hair appears healthier. You are supposed to apply this on wet hair before shampoo and conditioner. I love it even more with the matching conditioner (not on the photo), because my hair just looks healthier, is easy to comb through and in general gives better appearance.

L'Oreal Professional Vitamino Color 10-in-1 Professional Milk

I have had several bottles of this already and it's currently my favorite heat protectant. It's not just heat protectant as it's geared toward damaged and colored hair, so it gives my hair also some moisture and nourishment, but it's still lightweight enough. This is like a good leave in milky conditioner that also provides heat protection and I use it always before blow drying my hair.

Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil

I finally found hair oil that is light enough for my thin hair. I believe Olaplex oil again has some of those bonding ingredients so it's best to be used on wet hair before blow drying and I use it like that. I need literally two drops for my ends and it always dries them so nicely. My ends feel smooth, but don't look or feel greasy at all. I also love the slightly sweet herbal scent it gives to my hair.

CurrentBody LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2

I have never been as consistent with any beauty tool before as I have with this mask. It's because I definitely saw results with using it. My skin texture just felt smoother and I had less breakouts. My complexion also looked more even toned. I don't just use it on my face, I like to use it on my hands as well to help heal eczema and brighten my complexion and I also used it on my scalp to help promote hair growth. I can't say if it actually works for that, but it can't hurt either. I am definitely going to use it now to help with my postpartum recovery.

Paris Corner Minya Perfume

And a little non-skincare product that has gotten into the mix of my favorite things is this fragrance. To be honest, I so rarely buy a new perfume these days. I usually just try those perfumes that you can refill for 15 ml, because I get bored of one scent and I don't like to pay for expensive huge perfume bottles that I know I am not going to use up. This was a blind buy only based on the notes and it was amazing. It smells like a creamy nutty pistachio ice cream with a bit of sweet vanilla. It's so unbelievably long lasting. I can smell it on my clothes for weeks. While I was pregnant I avoided most of the perfumes, but now I started to use it again. Still, I only do two spritzes of this because it's so strong.
