Review: Bronx Colors - Face Products

I've been trying out Bronx Colors products which is a new brand that just came to Slovenian stores. I have never heard of the brand before.  Products are inspired by Bronx district from New York. They draw inspiration from textures and colors of that vibrant city.

I have received so many Bronx products that I have decided to split my review posts into three parts - face, eye and lip products. So expect two more posts.

Masterclass Pro Foundation - Creamy Natural

Packaging

I have only tester of this foundation. Original packaging is a tube and it costs 12.99€.

Formula

Creamy formula which has that slip to it that makes it very spreadable. It has light coverage. This foundation won't cover any redness or imperfections, it just evens out skin tone a bit. It's not buildable. It leaves a bit of shine on my combination skin.

There is heavy rum scent to it which must mean it's alcohol heavy.

Colors

It comes in 15 shades. I got to try one of the lightest ones. Creamy Natural is light peachy shade which surprisingly adapts to my skin tone well and actually matches me.

Performance

It looks very obvious around any textured parts like around the nose. It also doesn't really set on my combination skin, so I have to powder it down. I dislike it. It's not for me. There isn't enough coverage and looks so obvious on the skin once you powder it down. On my combination skin it didn't stay in place all day, so I wouldn't say it's long lasting. In general formula is more suitable for normal to dry skin without any imperfections or texture.

Boosting Hydrating Concealer - Beige

Packaging

It comes in a transparent tube with a fluffy doe foot applicator. In it is 10 ml of products and it costs 6.99€

Formula

It's very similar formula to foundation. Again, a creamy formula which has good slip to it and spreadabilty. I feel like this one sets quicker than foundation and has a slightly moisturizing finish. It's light coverage which won't cover any major imperfections or dark circles.

Colors

It comes in 8 shades and three of those are color correcting shades. Beige actually matches foundation color well. It's another light peachy shade, which is good for neutralizing under eye area. It looks darker once you apply it, but as you blend it in it becomes fairly neutral and light. It's the second lightest shade in the range.

Performance

It's a bit hydrating looking, because if you don't powder it down, there is some of that moisturizing sheen to it. If you apply powder over it, it becomes completely matte looking. My fine lines were a bit emphasized with this one and there isn't enough coverage for my liking. But it stays in place.

Compact Powder - Soft Beige

Packaging

It comes in plastic packaging with transparent lid, so you see the color through it. In it is 12 grams of product and it costs 11.99€.

Formula

A bit wetter to the touch, but it dusts all over once you put brush in the pan. Coverage is pretty good for a powder. Finish is satin, because it has very slight sheen to it, it's not completely matte.

Colors

You can choose among 6 shades. Soft Beige is light warm shade with yellow undertone and it's the second lightest shade. It is darker than foundation and concealer. It matches my tan well, but will be too dark for my winter complexion.

Performance

It sets makeup, makes it much matter looking, but leaves just barely noticeable sheen on the skin which looks quite natural. This isn't for oil control, but more for setting makeup.

Strobing Palette - 02 Rose

Packaging

This one also has plastic packaging with transparent lid. In it is 24 grams of product and it costs 14.99€.

Formula

It has wet, almost creamy formula. Pigmentation is insane. One touch and you don't need to dip in anymore. Finish is metallic with very fine shimmer.

Colors

Rose version has three pink peachy toned shades

First shade is pale icy champagne. It has neutral to cool silver champagne sheen

Second shade is light to medium rose gold. It has more of a warm peach base with a pinkier sheen on top. Neutral toned.

Third shade is medium to dark bronze shade with neutral rose sheen. The base is very much bronze like.

All shades feel neutral to cool toned and all have intense metallic sheen. Third shade is called contour, but it's highlighter for dark skin tones and shimmery blush for me.

On the right I applied only the first shade of the strobing palette.

All three shades of strobing palette used as highlighter, blush and bronzer all in one.

Performance

Intensity fades a bit through the day, but in general I think it wears lovely

You can buy Bronx Colors in Mercator Hipermarket Šiška, E Leclerc Maribor, Beauty World Maribor and online on Beauty World.

Most of face products just didn't impress me - especially base products. Foundation and concealer don't have enough coverage for my liking and foundation looks so weird on my combination skin. Concealer is good, if you like light coverage, but I always go for fuller coverage and just sheer it out, if I'm not in the mood for a full on opaque look. Powder is ok, but again, I like something lighter like a transparent loose powder to set it and not add another layer of makeup on top.

The only products that impressed me with quality and look was Strobing Palette. It has such a creamy formula and looks so intense, but not glittery at all. Colors are more on the pinkier side and I prefer something more golden, but this one is definitely worth a try, if you want something that applies super pigmented in one go and looks very intense.
