Pastel Summer Nails

Hey Beauties!

I love pastel nail polishes for the spring. But this year, I actually love to wear them in the summer as well. While I was admiring ombre shades of hydrangea, I got idea for this ombre summer nails. I also added some fun design on my ring finger. Think, I saw the design on Pinterest, although I didn't save the photo, so I don't know who to credit for the idea.

Hydrangea that I had in mind is this one that has such a pretty blue, purple and pink pastel ombre. It looked so pretty that I decided to search for the same shades in my nail polish collection.

I used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in 171 Bleach Babe as a white base and to enhance pastel shades on top.

Then I used Avon Gel Shine in Rain Washed as a pastel blue, Avon Gel Shine in Lavender Sky as a pastel purple and Maybelline Color Show The Blushed Nudes in 447 Dusty Rose as a pastel pink. I applied them with a sponge to create ombre effect. I should probably go over it one more time, but I decided to just leave it as it is. If you'll go over with the second coat, you'll prevent white base from peaking through.

On my ring finger I created this pretty accent design with using just doting tool. I alternated between small and bigger dots. I think the design is perfect for summer and it kind of reminds me of statement necklaces. For that I use Avon Gel Shine in Iceberg White, Parfait Pink, Mint To Be and Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Lemon Sugar.

To get a bit more unique finish, I decided to make the manicure matte with Kiko 3 in 1 Mat Fortifying Fast Dry Base and Top Coat.

I think pastel nail polishes look very pretty in the summer, especially if you catch some tan or are naturally darker. I love the contrast and how it pops out. Ring finger design gives it a bit more dimension and I love these pastel shade combinations. There's nothing better than taking inspiration from nature.

:) Hvala ;)
