On Wednesday I went to see The Mrs. Carter Show by Beyonce in Zagreb (Croatia). I was surprised by how natural looking make up she used on this tour. All the attention was on the clothes, dancing and light shows. But her make up was kept a vary natural throughout the whole show.



Since I liked her new Pepsi commercial (Pepsi was her sponsor for the tour), I wanted to try to do a look inspired by that commercial (which is also very similar to the one on her tour). In this commercial she has a very natural look, with sexy-smoldering-messy-smokey-eye make up. Ok, that was a lot of words :).

On the face I used my Revlon ColorStay foundation with a brush to evenly put it on the skin and really thin it out towards the edges of the face. Then I used a Bourjois Healthy Mix to pin-point conceal some red patches on my face and under the eyes. I didn't powder the face, because she has a very dewy look - she is supposed to be working out in the commercial, so of course the shin can't stay mat.

For the eyes I used my 88 shimmer palette by Coastal Scents. I used a brown color that has a silver undertone. Of course all the colors in this palette are shimmery. She had this grey-brownish color all over the lid. So I put the first color all over my lid, but kept the intensity of the eyeshadow only on the mobile part of the lid. I also put some under my eye. On the bottom you can go very heavy, even put the eyeshadow a bit lower than you would normally.



Then I chose a black shimmery color (because I don't have any mat one :) ) and put it very close to the lash line on the bottom part of the eye. I also put it very tight to the eyelashes on the top of the eye. This acts as a liner, but it makes the look a lot dofter, not as harsh as a liner would. You can also use a pencil and smudge it around the eye. The important thing is to smudge and blend the two colors together. Beyonce also tight lined her bottom and top water line. I didn't do that, because unfortunately my eyes are way to sensitive to put up with that.  On the inner corner I used one of the gold eyeshadow color from the same palette.



After that don't forget to curl the lashes. This is probably the thing that makes the most difference in any make up look. I applied my Bourjois Volume Glamour Max Definition mascara, but only on the top lashes. Since I have very long bottom lashes, I skipped applying mascara on them. I think that would ruin the previous work. The bottom part is heavy enough without the mascara.



For the brows I used a spoolie to brush them up and applied some mat brown eyeshadow. Beyonce also has some very natural looking brows. So I think the eyeshadow makes the look softer than eyebrow pencil.



I used my Catrice eyeshadow in 340 Ooops...Nude Did It Again as a highlighter on my cheekbones and a bit on the cheeks. I also used it on the bridge of my nose and my cupids bow on the lips. On the cheeks I used a blush by Deborah in 24 Rame. This is a bronzy-peach blush. I used it very very lightly, just to give some color.

On the lips I used a Loreal Color Riche Star Secrets lipstick in color 715 (or Jane Fonda) to give them some color. On top of that I used Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in 605 Precious Beige to give them some shimmer and then I put on some of my highlighting color on the center of the top and bottom lip. This is a must have if you have small lips like me :) .

The lip gloss comes in a nice plastic tube with a screw-on silver top, which looks like some sort of a diamond. It's a typical lip gloss tube with a little more of a classy shape on top.



The wand is pretty long, flat and wide enough to fit nicely on the lips. I personally don't like weirdly shaped wands that don't fit on your lips and transfer product evenly. This one I find to be a really good fit.



The lip gloss itself is some sort of sticky consistency. If you don't like the sticky feeling on the lips, then I wouldn't recommend buying this one. I actually prefer that stickiness over the non-sticky ones. The color is enough pigmented to leave some color, but not a full coverage, like some mat lip gloss may give.



I have it in the color Mauve Kiss and it is a pink color, but it has a bit of purple-plum undertone. This one doesn't have a shimmer in it. Some other colors however do.




The color range of these lip glosses is similar to the lip sticks. It has 12 colors. Pinks, nudes, plums, reds to even very dark plums and very dark browns.



The price right now, is 5.50€ and with that you get 6 ml of products.

As far as the ingredients goes, they are the same as in the lipstick from that line. I personally feel that the ingredients suit me very well. Butters and oils make my lips feel nice, not at all dry after using it.

I have discovered natural butters and oils that are supposed to be very good and natural to use on skin. Since then I have made my own lip balm and I never looked for any other for my always chopped lips. I bought my butters and oils here: http://www.tovarnaorganika.si/

I was buying some things and stumbled upon this product. This is a new one for me and I don't remember seeing it in our country before. Since I read a lot of raving reviews about this product, I had to try it for myself. The product I bought was Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr gel-cream eyeshadow.

The packaging is a very sturdy glass with black screw-on top. I like it, because the glass is very thick so it would probably still be ok, if you dropped it. I also like the fact that it has a color swatch on both sides, top and bottom. On top is a sticker in the same color as is the shade and on the bottom is a see-through glass so you can see the shade. That's a nice quality, so that you don't need to open or turn the product to see what color it is. Plus, it would be a lot easier to put it in the drawers and still see the colors.

On the packaging it doesn't actually says the amount of product that is in, so I can't tell.

I've tried it today. Since I have very oily lids, I was pleasantly surprised when I came home after 8 hours and saw that the make up was still pretty much on. The eyeshadow didn't crease much, which after 8 hours of wearing it, is a total success for me.  To say nicely, I didn't have any nice "relationships" with all my previous cream eyeshadows and I never wanted to buy any, because they just packed themselves in the crease and was no point in putting them on.

Of course it did started to crease a little, but still far from all the other so-called cream eyeshadows and stuff. I did however used an eyeshadow lightly over this cream shadow. That probably also helped it stay put.

This products comes in different shades. Although I didn't see all of them in the store. I remember I saw purple, black, white, light pink, turquoise and taupe. Don't remember all of the shades, though.

All in all, I like this product a lot. I like all the colors in the range, like that it dries really quickly and therefore prevents the shadow to crease a lot less and that it stays on for such a long time. I will probably purchase it in some other colors also. It made me fall in love with cream eyeshadow again :).
