Packaging
It's a stick so you get a bullet inside plastic packaging, which is pretty cheap, but also light to carry around. There's 10 grams of product in it and it costs 5.30€. You can get it in most our drugstores like DM and Müller. Notino also has Essence.
Texture
It's quite a creamy product, but doesn't feel or look greasy and it seems to have good payoff once you swipe it. It has enough creaminess that you can easily blend it out. But once you blend it out you get a light coverage. You can build it up a bit, but in my opinion it can start to look a bit cakey and sit in pores. I think one light layer all over is perfect. The finish is natural. It doesn't look completely matte, but there is no shine either. On my combination skin it has a bit of sheen there, but I can't say if it would be the same on dry skin.
Color
Shade 120 is light warm yellow toned shade. It looks way too dark on me upon the first swipe, but since this is a light coverage, it blends out sheerer and doesn't look as dark. It's still darker than my natural tone on the face, but my body is always darker in the summer, so it actually matches my body well. The neck is probably the lightest part of my body, so that is not a good judgment either.
Shade range is weird in my opinion. Yes, it comes in a multitude of shades worldwide (43 I think), but we only have a few shades in Slovenia and they are kind of weird in my opinion. You have very pale cool toned shades and not one olive or neutral light shade. Then it just jumps into warm yellow or peach tones as you try to find something darker and not super pale. I had a hard time choosing it out in person in the drugstore and I am usually good at that.
Comparison
I compared it to some of the foundations I currently have in my rotation and one standard drugstore olive that I judge most foundation shades against.
L'Oreal Infaillible 32H Fresh Wear 100 Linen - this is probably the closest in color, though L'Oreal looks just a tad more neutral, though it's still warm toned shade.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation 51W Light Vanilla - lighter, but with that same warm undertone.
Revlon Colorstay Combination/Oily 150 Buff - the lightest color compared and the most neutral to olive toned.
Performance
At first try, I didn't like it at all. It did gather in my fine lines around my eyes and on the forehead. It doesn't really look weird over pores, but there is no blurring them either. It always emphasizes my dry texture around the nose. I wouldn't even say it's dry patches, it's just dry texture. However, the more I wore it, the more I thought well it doesn't look as bad. I must say it looked sort of descent through the day. I will say my skin has been unusually drier for summer, so it's not oily as it used to be. This doesn't set though and it's not transfer proof, so you need to set it. I use loose powder as well as setting spray and with that combo it actually wore well for a light coverage foundation. However, it still doesn't look as good as it could. It'sa s descent everyday quick option for me for short earrands. I wouldn't think this is for dry skin or very oily skin. It's more for those that don't have much texture or fine lines yet. So yes, younger population as Essence is targeted towards.
To conclude, a good cheap stick foundation with light coverage for normal to combination skin with minimal texture and fine lines. If you have mature skin, very oily or very dry, it probably won't be for you. And if you have light neutral to olive skin tone you'll have a hard time finding the right shades.
