Review: Avon True Colour BB 7-in-1 Nail Enamel - Lilac Love

I already have one shade from Avon True Colour BB 7-in-1 Nail Enamel range. It's called Caring Creme and it's one of my favorite nude shades. I also really like the formula, so I knew I was going to like Lilac Love as well.


It comes in a square glass bottle with black plastic top. In it is 10 ml of product. The regular price is 5.90€. Currently on offer for 3.50€ (Slovenia).


It has a basic straight cut brush that is more on the thinner side. 


Lilac Love is pastel lavender shade. It's actually perfect for spring, even though I love to wear pastel nail polishes all year around. 


Formula is creamy and applies lovely. You'll definitely need two coats to make it look even and cover the nail completely. I usually apply one thinner coat and go in with a second thicker coat. 

This BB formula is so long wearing. It lasts on my nails for 4 days without chipping - which means it would definitely stay for 7 day on healthy nails. It's one of my most long wearing formula. You also don't need top coat with it. It has a nice cream finish with a bit of shine and it actually dries quite fast too. 

This formula should supposedly also help your nails to look healthier, cover imperfections, give you UV protection, prevent discoloration, make your nails stronger and smoother. So it's not just a regular nail polish formula, it also helps your nails to get healthier. 




I highly recommend you checking this range, if you like subtle pastel shades and want something that is fuss free to apply and stays on your nails. Avon has four shades in the range. There's Caring Creme (my favorite nude, with a peach tint to it), Lilac Love, Restoring Beige (brownish nude) and Perfect Pink (light pink).

En odtenek Avon True Colour BB 7-in-1 Nail Enamel že imam. Imenuje se Caring Creme in je en mojih najlepših nude odtenkov. Formula mi je zelo všeč, zato sem predvidevala, da mi bo tudi Lilac Love všeč.

Lak ima kvadratno stekleničko s črnim plastičnim pokrovom. V njem je 10 ml izdelka. Redna cena je 5.90€. Trenutno ga lahko dobite za 3.50€ (tukaj).

Čopiče je klasičen, ravno odrezan in bolj ozek. 

Lilac Love je pastelno vijoličen odtenek. Je perfekten za pomlad, čeprav sama rada nosim pastelne odtenke kar čez celo leto. 

Formula je kremasta in se nanaša z lahkoto. Vsekakor boste potrebovali vsaj dva sloja, da bo enakomerno prekril noht. Sama najprej nanesem en tanek sloj, nato pa grem preko z drugim debelejšim nanosom.

BB formula je zelo dolgo obstojna. Na mojih nohtih zdrži 4 dni brez da bi se okrušil - kar pomeni, da bo na zdravih nohtih zagotovo zdržal 7 dni. To je ena najbolj dolgo obstojni formul izmed lakov, ki jih imam. Tudi nadlaka ne boste rabile nanašati nad ta lak. Ima kremast finiš z malo sijaj in se precej hitro posuši.

Ta formula bi naj ohranjala nohte bolje zdrave, prekrila nepravilnosti, omogočila UV zaščito, preprečila razbarvanost in naredila nohte močnejše ter gladke. Torej ne gre za navadno formulo lakov za nohte. Ta dejansko pomaga k bolj zdravemu izgledu nohtov.

Vsekakor vam priporočam, da pregledate to linijo lakov, če imate radi pastelno svetle odtenke in si želita laka za nohte, ki se z lahkoto nanaša in dobro obdrži na nohtih. Avon ima v tej liniji štiri odtenke. To so Caring Creme (moj najljubši nude odtenek, ki ima breskvasto podlago), Lilac Love, Restoring Beige (rjavo nude odtenek) in Perfect Pink (svetlo roza odtenek).

Pastel Makeup

Hey Beauties!

I love pastels for my nails, but I always thought they don't suit me as makeup. I've seen some amazing pastel makeup looks online and really wanted to put my Essence pastel liners to use. That's how this look came about. I actually like it, even though it's not my usual cup of tea. I always think that pastels look better on someone with lighter eye color and blonde hair.


I started my eye makeup by applying eye primer and setting it with nude eye shadow. Then I added light brown to the crease as a transition shade. I applied pastel mint shade on the center of the lid. I took pastel lavender shade and applied it in the crease.


Then I added pastel lavender eyeliner in a winged like shape and tried to make it bolder to really stand out. I also used dark purple gel liner and slightly deepened around my lash line, but I tried to make it not very visible. Around my bottom lash line I applied creamy peach eye shadow.


Then I went over it with bright ocher yellow shade. I also used light yellow gold shade in the inner corners. It was time for lots of mascara to ground these pastel shades and finished. 



On my face I used very light foundation with matching concealer. I powdered my entire face. On the cheeks I used light cool toned matte pink blush. I also lightly used bronzer to balance it out with light eye shadow colors. For my highlighter I used light champagne gold shade. 


As this was pastel look, I also decided to go light with my lip color and chose pastel lavender pink. The whole look is very light in general and may not be for every taste, but I quite like that as a change. 



If you think it's too light, you can use bolder lipstick, like I did here. I used bright purple to make my lips stand out a bit more.

Review: Essence LE Wake up, spring! Eyeliner Pens (01 happy first day of spring, 02 let's the spring begin, 03 spring a-ling a-ling)

When I saw promo photos of Essence Limited Edition Wake Up, Spring! I immediately noticed pastel eyeliners. The shades looked so pretty. It's really hard to get a hold of colorful eyeliners in our drugstores, even more so to find a white one. Obviously I couldn't just take one shade, so I got all three.


Eyeliners come in a pen like shape. They all have colored packaging that corresponds the shade inside. Each costs 2.19€ and in it is 1 ml of product.


It has a foam tip applicator, which is the first problem. I have all three shades and the tip on all of those just doesn't get saturated enough. White one gets saturated the most, while lavender the least. You can see that there is still product in the pen, but it doesn't want to come down to the tip. I actually had such a hard time working with lavender shade that I bent the tip to almost break it and at that point the product was coming out from that point of breaking it. I then applied it on my hand and with a tip on my eyes. Since then I store them down wards and they work a bit better.


Eyeliners come in three shades 01 happy first day of spring is cool lavender shade, 02 let's the spring begin is white and 03 spring a-ling a-ling is retro minty green. All the shades are fairy light pastels. 


The formula of these is like a milky cream which needs a bit of time to dry down completely. It doesn't move once it sets, but if it gets in contact with water, it will come off. I also find them a bit sticky, so you definitely need to use some sort of eye primer, if you're eyelids are a bit droopy. 


The pigmentation is also not as good as I would expect. It depends from shade to shade. I find that white and lavender are more pigmented, while I always struggle to build up intensity with minty green. You need to go over the line multiple times to get the full color payoff. If you press the tip down too much you also get an uneven application. For some reason this eyeliner just doesn't work when I apply it over eye shadows. It's like the tip gets dirty with the eye shadow and doesn't want to perform. I really dislike this. It's obvious that I'm gonna apply it over eye shadow. 


I also applied all three shades with different eye makeup to show you how they look like on me. 

01 happy first day of spring

Pastel lavender shade is my favorite of all three, but it performs the worst. When I tried it at home it almost seemed like it was already a bit dried up. I might have picked the wrong one up in the shop. The tip doesn't want to get saturated. It took some real effort to make it look like it's OK. When I used it for the second time it worked better, because I had it stored down.




02 let's the spring begin

White performs the best. It's the only shade that the tip actually gets saturated, although it's less pigmented, because it's the lightest. White is great for creating double wings, 60's inspired makeup or just adding the light on your eyes.




03 spring a-ling a-ling

This retro minty green also doesn't get saturated enough, but performs a tad better than lavender, although it's less pigmented. I am a bit on the fence when it comes to the shade. It's unique, but I would almost like it to be a bit brighter. 

Obviously you can wear these as an eyeliner on its own - even though they are very light, but my eyes just look very tired without some kind of dark color around the lash line, since my eye color is pretty dark. But you can also use it as I did, just slightly above the black liner. It almost creates colorful shade.




Here I also used all three of them together. It's a bit difficult to go over them with black liner, because the texture gets pretty thick. But you can definitely make it work with patience and precision. 



I am disappointed by these eyeliner pens. The shades are unique and I love the milky finish, but it seems like Essence didn't put much effort into the performance. The tip doesn't get saturated enough and it's really hard to work with on top of eye shadows. If this was maybe in a gel form or liquid with a brush, I'm sure it would work better. I wouldn't recommend these. But if you'd still like to get these colorful eyeliners for whatever reason, I would say store them downwards and check in the store that they haven't been opened yet.

Review: Maybelline Color Show The Blushed Nudes - 447 Dusty Rose

Our weather seems more like it's fall rather than spring. But I just can't wait for more sun and pretty flowers outside my window. My mentality is already in spring and so are my purchases. In Austrian DM I found one of Maybelline Color Show limited edition's called The Blushed Nudes. In the edition are 4 colored polishes and one glittery top coat. They are all in that mauvy shade range. I chose pastel pink lavender shade, because it seemed the most unique.


Nail polish comes in their usual glass bottle with black top. In it is 7 ml of product and it costs 2.95€. 


This range has a very pretty lace design on the top. Nice touch.


It has a standard straight cut brush, which is just the right width. 


The formula of Color Show nail polishes is in general a bit more creamy and a bit more opaque. Colorama I find very thin and almost a bit transparent, so I prefer Color Show range, which of course we don't have in Slovenia. 

As with most light nail polish shades, you'll need two coats to completely cover the nail. It dries fairy quick and this range usually lasts well on my nails. For about 3 - 4 days, which is a lot for my weak nails.

Shade 447 Dusty Rose almost looks like dirty light pastel pink, but with a touch of lavender. Unique shade in my collection.




I love this shade so much and want to wear it again and again. It's just a really pretty pastel nude dirty pink. It's also not too warm nor too cool. I just wish Maybelline would start selling Color Show nail polishes in our country. Those are one of my favorite drugstore nail polishes.

Review: Avon Planet Spa Sleep Serenity Pillow Mist (Camomile & Lavender)

I am so excited to introduce you to this product. It was actually really cheap, but it has quickly become one of my favorite Avon products. Even if you don't have trouble sleeping, you will still love this smell.

Avon has Planet Spa line, which features a lot of spa like products for skin and body. I guess it's more luxury range of good smelling products that should make you feel like at a spa, even if you are at home. They have different ranges and this Pillow Mist is part of Sleep Serenity range. 

I bought it for only 1€ (the regular price is 9€) and there's 100 ml of spray in it. Now, I am not sure where can you get it, it's probably still available to order online (because a lot of products, which are not in their catalog, you can still order - ask the person your ordering from). The packaging is a plastic bottle.


Spray top works nicely and it produces a very fine mist. No big drops, which would wet your pillow. It says to spray it on your pillow from a distance of 15 cm. You then let it dry and enjoy the smell.


I was a little worried ordering it, since the smell is described as camomile and lavender. You may know that I am not really fond of lavender smell. I do like camomile, but am also not extremly excited about it. However...this smells so good! Seriously. I can smell more of the camomile, then lavender. Actually I don't smell lavender at all. It smells like a very luxurious cream. It really does smell relaxing, somewhat sleepy. I know, I'm horrible at describing this. It's just a very subtle creamy comforting smell. Now, if only there was perfume that smelled like this?! Oh yes, I would buy it in a second, that's how good it smells to me.

As far as performance goes, it's all in the mind. After a while you start to connect the smell of it with the fact that you're going to sleep. That's really how those products work. Pillow mist has the scent that it's suppose to soothe you and prepare you for a calm sleep. Plus it smells so gorgeous, that you'll be searching for that spot on your pillow to bury your face in. 

I love to spray it on the two ends of the pillow on top, so that it's not too close to the face. The smell is subtle and not harsh at all. It will stay on your pillow for day or two, but faded out. I even use it sometimes to spray it in the air, when I want my room to smell nice. It's just a very unexpected, but needed product that makes your nights just that much more prettier.

If you like nice smelly things and love to pamper yourself before going to sleep, then definitely buy this. You may have guessed it buy now that I love it. Just wish I would have found it earlier, since I'm not sure how available it still is.

Born Pretty Store Makeup Leightweight Eye Shadow palette

Another eye shadow palette, I know. I guess, I didn't planed my posts good. But hey, I always conclude makeup looks, so I guess it's not just a regular review. My face has been breaking out like crazy, that's why there were no new makeup looks, but I have many ideas for the future. Back to the topic. Today's review is of Born Pretty Store eye shadow palette, which looks very colorful, but is actually really wearable. 


Eye shadow palette comes in this very shimmery silver box. The packaging is plastic and it has rose gold metallic look. The packaging is somewhat sturdy, but the mirror in it, not so much. It costs 6$ and there's 5.2 grams of product in it. I chose the shade 1, but there are 6 different shades of palettes to choose from. You can get the palette here.



Of course, you get standard sponge applicator, which I never use. Now...when I first saw these eye shadows, I was like...hell no! Can you see how glittery it looks? I was seriously afraid and thought, I'm not gonna like this. I was wrong. 


Once I swirled the eye shadows, the glitter was gone. Eye shadow became a really nice shimmer shades. I would actually categorize those eye shadows as metallic, because they have that pearl metallic finish to them. The shades are well pigmented, but nothing crazy good. I think the reason may be, because of that metallic finish. It also means they are a lot more wearable, than what they look like. The formula has that moist feeling to it, where they are not dry, but almost seem like a cream, when you swirl them. That results in good blend-ability. Also take into consideration that the shades kind of loose the brightness through the day. It means they become less vibrant, as I have observed, while wearing them through the whole day. It's nothing mayor, it just won't look like when you first applied it. 



First shade: pearly white.
Second shade: lavender cool toned purple.
Third shade: goldish warm yellow.
Fourth shade: warm green toned brown.
Fifth shade: warm copper brown.

The shades look a lot brighter and more intimidating in the palette then on the skin. They are a very wearable variations of colored shades, which can be used to lift up daily makeup.


I decided to apply the shades and let you see how they look like on me. Lavender purple looks too cool toned and a lot lighter on my skin than it does in the palette. I also used white shade in the inner corner of my eye. 



Yellow shade really brights up my eyes and it's also a lot lighter on the skin. 



Green based brown shade is my favorite of this palette. It looks a lot greener in the palette, but it's actually a very wearable shade of green mixed with brown tone. It looks really nice with my skin tone and I like that it's not a very obvious green, which does look a bit weird on me. 



Last, brown shade looks a lot more brown in the palette, but on me it's actually very coppery or even peach. It's the one shade that shocked me the most. I was expecting a very warm brown shade, but it's actually totally different. 





I also included some full face makeup. On the first one is my favorite green shade of the palette and on the second is copper brown shade. 



To conclude, I think the palette is pretty affordable and you get a good pigmented shades that are more on a wearable daily side. They can be used as a pop of color, mixed with other eye shadows, or mixed together to create a more colorful look. There are more shade options to choose from. I chose this one, because of the lavender shade - don't ask me what is up with me, but lately I've been craving lavender shades and I don't even understand why. So, a good palette. Nothing extraordinary, but good.
