When I think of Nivea, I think of body products. I still remember their universal cream in a dark blue tin packaging that was a staple in many families, when I was little. I never really like their face creams, because they're too perfumed and basic, but their body lotions and shower gels always work for my skin. I especially like nourishing abilities. I've already talked about their Nivea Rich Nourishing Body Milk which is one of my favorites from their brand and great for creating super glowy skin all over the body. Today I'm writing about their Nivea Aloe & Hydration Body Lotion. 

Packaging

It comes in a white plastic packaging with minimal design. I like that they have a slanted top which means you can actually place it on its head and it stands. This makes it easier to get out every last drop of the lotion. 

In it is 250 ml of product and it costs something around 4€.  

Formula

Nivea says that their body lotion contains intensive Nivea hydrating serum, nourishing oils, aloe vera  extract and helps to keep your skin hydrated with the help of lipids. It should protect the skin from water loss and make it feel more hydrated.

Aloe vera is a fairly commonly used ingredient in skin care. It's great gentle ingredient that helps to hydrate and calm the skin. Nivea also says that aloe vera is rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes. 

It has firm, but slightly transparent white lotion cosistency that is very smooth and spreads with utter ease. It's super lightweight in its way, but once you massage it in, you can still feel slight nourishing layer on the skin, although it's completely matte looking. 

It has a subtle herbal, but also a bit sweet scent. Pleasant, but not overwhelming. 

Performance

I have much drier skin on my body in the winter than in the warmer months, which I'm sure is the usual with most of you too. My problem area is my lower half of legs, which sometimes get so dry that they look white and small patches of skin start to flake off. Ever since I was using this lotion religiously every morning or night, I don't have that problem. I can apply it on in the evening and in the morning my skin still looks hydrated. It's not ultra nourishing, like their rich version, but it's much more lightweight and feels like nothing on the skin. It also never felt irritating on my sensitive skin.

This would be perfect for summer time or for transitioning into winter, if you're like me and love a good heavy balmy nourishing lotion for the winter. However, if you hate anything too rich and noticeable on the skin, you would love this regardless of the season. I even caught my boyfriend using this on his dry legs and I'm assuming he likes it that much because of the no-grease residue. 

When it comes to body products I go for something that is nourishing, hydrating and doesn't irritate my skin. This Nivea Aloe & Hydration Body Lotion is lightweight, but has nourishing and hydrating abilities without leaving your skin looking or feeling greasy. It doesn't irritate my skin at all and the fragrance in it is subtle enough that it doesn't bother me through the day. If you want something lightweight, but that does the job, you would probably like it.

I got their new Nourishing Body Milk and with it I got some really pretty fluffy socks. I also really like that they've hand written the note for me. I find that one of the best things ever. I really like personalized touches to packages.

Herbio a Slovenian company that produces natural modern herb inspired cosmetics, offered me to try one of their product. In the process of choosing the product I decided on their Cream Kalei with no hesitation. Why? Because since I started using skin care products, the ones that were based on any kid of sea ingredients, always worked for my skin. This one is not an exception.

Cream Kalei is an all-around 24 hours cream for sensitive, dry and irritated skin. It contains chlorella vulgaris, sea fennel, plankton extract and vitamin E. The cream should hydrate and make the skin more elastic. It also has some anti-aging ingredients to slow down the aging process. The cream doesn't contain any parabens or mineral oils. 

It comes in a white plastic bottle with a pump. Extremely hygienic and useful packaging. It's also light enough to travel with. It contains 50 ml of product and costs 29.95€.

I just have to make a separate blog post about this mask. Usually I never review such cheap one-use products, but this one is a complete star. I'll just admit that most of Balea stuff don't really get me excited, so I was very surprised how much I liked this.

I was invited to attend the presentation of new La Roche-Posay product. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend the event, because of my study obligations. The PR representative was very kind and sent me the new Effaclar Duo + product. Of course, I was very happy about that. I had reviewed two of La Roche-Posay products on my blog here, before. After trying the Effaclar Duo, I got a hold of the whole sized product and loved using it, when I started getting breakouts. I didn't even know that they also made a newer version. 

The main difference between the previous and newer version is that Effaclar Duo + also helps preventing permanent damages on the skin, like red and dark spots. Those with acne prone skin, now what I mean. As the previous version, this one also helps to prevent clogged pores, which means preventing breakouts. 

The innovative ingredients in this product is Procerad, a patented ceramide which helps to protect against the appearance of red and brown marks. The product says that after 24 hours the imperfections look visibly less red, after 8 days localised imperfections appear significantly reduced, after 4 weeks pores look unclogged, skin texture looks refined and it controls the appearance of shine. 

The new texture is a gel-cream, which promises 24 hydration and lasting mattifying effect, non sticky, non oily finish. It's also an excellent makeup base. 

This product couldn't have come in a better time. I was just having some nasty breakouts, probably because of the studying and exams. I've been using it for one week and I believe I already see some of the results. My skin got cleared after one week, no breakouts anymore. Which probably means unclogged pores as well. I love the texture, which is white, a lot more creamier than the previous version. The previous was very much like a transparent gel. I also like the feeling better. The new version feels more like a regular cream and feels a lot more soothing. As many of you now, I have pretty sensitive skin and the new version reacted good to my skin. No red spots or itchiness. I like that a lot, because the previous version was a lot more irritating for my skin. This one is definitely better for sensitive skin.

Here you can see the difference in the color and texture. The new version still glides on like dream and it has a certain gel texture to it, but feels a lot more like cream. I would dare to say that it's also a bit more moisturizing. It soaks into the skin very quickly. I still believe that it's a great makeup base, as it was the older version. It leaves this a bit sticky surface, which is perfect for makeup, so that it adheres to the skin better. I don't need an extra moisturizer on top of it, because my skin is combination to oily. For a really dry skin, this on itself, may not be enough. It's definitely not oily. The smell is very fresh citrus like.

As far as the applications goes some say that this is too much for the entire surface of the skin, especially if you don't have horrible breakouts or acne. You can just use it on the certain parts. If you have bigger problems, than you can use it all over the skin. I used it on the parts of my face, where I get breakouts like my forehead and around the cheek area. I've heard that this new version is also more suitable to use all over the skin, not just on the certain areas. But you'll figure out what works best for you.

To conclude my impressions of Effaclar Duo +, I can say that I really like it, better than the older version, especially because of the new texture, which feels a lot more soothing on my skin and is more appropriate for my sensitive skin. I don't have acne or huge skin problems, but when I do get breakouts, I love this sort of product. It definitely helped me clear the skin in one week, which is great.

Finally I have for you another hair product that I really like. I first heard of this product by Theodor Leaf on YouTube. He mentioned it a few times and always recommend it to his subscribers. I remembered it, googled and found it. I was so happy to also find a smaller size of this product, since I didn't wanted to spend a fortune on a product that I didn't know that well.

Starting with the packaging, which is plastic, small, pretty convenient and in order to get a product out, you have to pop the top and squeeze it out through a little hole. I admit there were times I squeezed out too much. Not the best packaging, but it will work.

It contains 100 ml and cost me 5.63 €. I bought it on Look Fantastic and even got a 10 % discount, which they always have on the site. Now it costs 6.88€. Of course you can also get bigger sizes.

You've probably heard of Paul Mitchell or his products. He is a famous hairdresser and his products are well respected by other fellow hairdressers. 

Paul Mitchell The Conditioner is a quickly absorbed leave-in moisturiser and conditioner that improves texture, reduces static and smoothes the surface of your hair, leaving it nourished and protected from the wear and tear of daily styling.

Moisturising conditioners and Paul Mitchell’s exclusive Activated Moisture Blend of awapuhi, balance moisture and prevent dryness, while wheat-derived conditioners smooth the surface and reduce static. The Conditioner features a unique water-based formula excellent for both skin and hair.

It's basically a leave-in conditioner. I've only had leave-in masks and sprays, but not a leave-in conditioner. I was surprised to read that this can also be used on the skin. What? I know, weird. I have not tried in on the skin, just to clear that out. As far as the hair goes - I love it! 

It's a light blue transparent greasy texture. Very balm like. It's very moisturizing. I apply it on wet hair, before hair drying. My hair really feels moisturized and what I like the best is that my hair looks nourished and the overall look of my split ends is great. It really helps with the whole appearance of the hair and it gives the moisture that lasts for about two days, sometimes less. Keep in mind that my hair is really dry. I also clean it every other day. I have to say that this product surprised me. If you're looking for a hydrating leave in product for your hair and you have very dry hair, I highly recommend it. Use it sparingly, because the smallest amount is enough. Bare in mind that it's pretty heavy in terms of balminess or oiliness of the product, but it didn't weigh down my hair or anything like that.  


I really like this product. Whenever I don't use it, my hair just doesn't look as nice as it did before. I also like that it's so easy to use. For anyone with dry hair, I highly recommend. Plus you can always buy the little version, if you're not entirely sure you'll like it.
