My Lips, Nails, Brushes and Other Wish List

Hey Beauties!

I have the last wish list post about products that I really want to get my hands on. Today it's all about lips, nails, makeup brushes and one other thing.

Kiko Dream Wish Nail Lacquer Set

I think the name couldn't be better. It really is a dream wish list product for any nail polish lover. Kiko has one of the best formulas and very affordable prices (especially, when they're on sale). I really like their regular Nail Lacquer line, although I wish to have a lot more of these in my collection. In this set you get seven bright shades of nail polish with one glitter top coat. I like all of the shades. It's a very classic set of colors that many would love.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - Stockholm

This is on my wish list for a really long time. I was so excited when I saw that Feelunique got NYX products, but of course Stockholm is already sold out. Just my luck. I really like this peachy brown pink matte lipstick and I hope I'll get it soon, because I've heard some great things about their lip creams.

Charlotte Tilbury Mini Lipstick Charms

It's a set of three mini sized lipsticks. In it you get Penelope Pink (peachy nude), Bitch Perfect (pink nude) and So Marilyn (classic red). I have hard time finishing full sized lipsticks, so this would be perfect. All the shades are pretty classic and would probably suit me well. Here makeup line is impeccable and lipsticks are very raved about.  One more reason to try them.

Kiko Nail Lacquer - 507 Blush

This shade just appeals to me and I rarely go for lighter colors. It's like a very light white with slight peach tint to it, but then it almost looks a bit pastel neon line on the photos. I love peach shade and the fact that it's very light really makes me want it.

Kiko Nail Lacquer - 373 Burnt Sienna

It looks like a warm brown taupe base with gold shimmer. I tend to gravitate toward brown lately and gold shimmer just makes it a perfect combination. This is definitely on my list for future purchases.

Kiko Temptress Lip Set - 04 Passionately Red

Kiko has some amazing makeup sets for December in their Cosmic Starlets Edition and I want them all. In this set you get a lipstick and a complimenting color of lip liner. After seeing some swatches on the internet, I decided for a classic red shade. I think the finish is a bit shiny.

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick - Shy Girl

MAC lipsticks are always a good choice for anyone's wish list. You have a huge range of shades and finishes for all skin types. I have four of them and would love to add to my collection. Shy Girl seems like a pretty pale peach shade. I also don't have any of their cremesheen finishes and would love to try it. It looks like a good finish for dry lips.

MAC Matte Lipstick - Honeylove

This was love at first sight. I first saw this lipstick on Sara's blog. It looks like a perfect mix of peach and brown. Super pretty and definitely high on my wish list.

Kiko Twin Stars Nail Lacquer and Lipstick - 01 Lavish Beige

Another amazing set, which would be a perfect gift for anyone that loves nail polish and lipsticks. You get lipstick with matte finish and shiny gel effect nail polish. Shades are accordingly similar. I want to get the beige version. Lipstick looks like a mauve brown nude and nails look like a classic pink nude shade.

Zoeva Rose Golden Complete Eye Set

You all know that I am obsessed with highlighter, but my second obsession must be makeup brushes. I have too many of them as it is, but I always want more. Most of my brushes are actually cheaper ones. I do have one small set of Zoeva eye brushes. I'm not even sure that they still sell this set. It was called Luxury Eye Brush Set. Since I am very happy with their quality, I want more. Because with eye makeup you can't really have too many brushes, at least I like to think so. This set has 12 eye brushes that you'll ever need.

Lisa Eldridge Face Paint Book

Lisa Eldridge is my favorite makeup artist. She's one of the first makeup artists that I watched on YouTube and I really like her aesthetic view on makeup. In the time of heavy contouring, highlighting, false lashes... she is actually one of the rare makeup artists that still swears on using makeup as a tool for enhancing your natural beauty, not making it look really fake. I admire her and love her soothing voice and professionalism. It's also rare that industry's leading makeup artists share their techniques on YouTube with all of us that don't have a professional makeup background. I admire her for that. Naturally, I was overly excited, when I heard that she wrote a book. It's about the history of makeup. I don't like history at all, but I am always intrigued to find out how makeup evolved through the years and I am almost certain that it's a very easy read. This is definitely on my top of wish list.

Zoeva - 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek Brush

This is angled brush and I would like to use this as a contouring brush.

Zoeva - 126 Luxe Cheek Finish Brush

Another great brush for either applying blush or powder. I think I would use this for powdering my face.

Zoeva - 101 Luxe Face Definer Brush

This brush is a bit tapered and it reminds me a little of Real Techniques Blush Brush, but a slimmer version of it. I would probably use this for bronzer, because it looks fluffy enough and also pointed so that you can contour with it a bit.

Zoeva - 223 Petit Eye Blender Brush

I saw something similar to this in Lisa Eldridge's makeup videos and she always uses it around the lower lash line. It looks like a really precise, yet rounded brush for applying eye shadow lightly around the lower lash line. I still lack in this department, so it seems a really nice shape.

Japonesque Velvet Touch Brush Collection 4 Piece Gift Set

Another Lisa Eldridge inspired brush set. She uses a lot of Japonesque brushes and a year ago she featured this set in her holiday giveaway. I saw it in one of the online stores and though the price is actually not bad at all. It seems like the brushes must be of great quality. In the set you get powder brush, lip brush and two eye shadow brushes. It seems like a really nice basic set and for some reason I really want to try this brand.

Zoeva Rose Golden Complete Eye Set Vol. 2

And because you can never have too many eye brushes (did I already say I love brushes?), I want volume 2 as well. I am not obsessed with pink packaging, but I do like the variety of brush shapes in both these sets.

This is my last wish list. I featured some of the products that are on my mind for future purchases or just for day dreaming. I could do a lot more wish lists, but I just decided to feature products that are really stuck in my mind. I'm sure all of you also have few products that you're dreaming of. At the end of the day, it's just materialistic things and of course I don't need all of these, but I am allowed to dream a bit. Makeup just makes me a bit happier, like others get happy if they get a new game, shirt, sports gear and so on. Lists are also helpful to me, because when I go to certain stores, I at least know what I want and won't buy something on a whim. Do you make wish lists as well? What is your favorite product from my wish list?

Review: Metallic Face Brushes (Powder, Blush and Contour)

Hey Beauties!

A while ago I was browsing through Ebay, because I was searching for some eye brushes that I already bought. I came upon these rose gold and gold metallic looking brushes. Of course my initial thought was Real Techniques Bold Metals dupes. If you compare them, the shapes do look very similar. Of course, I decided to buy three of them.

The brushes have different prices. Powder brush is around 2.50€, blush brush 2.30€ and contour brush 2.40€. I bought it here.

Real Techniques brushes have weighted handles. I am not sure if they are also actually made out of metal or not.

Ebay version has the same shades as originals. Powder brush is gold and contour and blush brush are rose gold. All of these look metallic, but are in fact plastic. They are heavier in the front, where there are bristles, so I am not sure if that means that they are weighted. It might just be the fact that at the end brush is thinner and therefor lighter there.

The bristles are synthetic and white at the tips. Towards the handle bristles correspond handle colors. So rose gold brushes have pink bristles and gold brush has yellow bristles. The white bristles are suppose to make it easier for you to see how much product you have on.

Bristles are all very soft. I would say that those are definitely one of the softest brushes that I own. The quality is mind blowing compared to the price.

Powder brush has a dome shape. Bristles are very soft and it's sort of a regular powder brush size. I think the size is just perfect for my face. You can also fit it under the eyes. It picks up the product nicely and feels super soft on the face. You can also use it as a bronzer brush.

Blush brush is fairly small, compared to some of my other blush brushes. It has tapered really soft bristles and they are fairly dense. A lot denser than powder brush. This means you can really pack on the brush. Because the bristles are soft, you can also create a softer look. This brush could also be used as a powder, highlighter or contour brush. It's small enough to be used in all smaller precise areas.

Contour brush is very interesting. It has a flat shape of bristles. The bristles are definitely the most dense out of all other brushes. It's really packed. This way you can create some serious contour. You can also use it as a highlighter brush. It still helps to blend the line, if you use ti lightly, so you don't have a straight line on your cheeks. It's also small enough that it fits nicely under the cheek bone area.

I think those are one of the best brushes that I ever bought on Ebay. It doesn't even matter if they tried to make dupes or not. The bristles are extremely soft and they don't shed, when I'm washing them. I think the handles are well made and super pretty with the shiny metallic finish. I can't say nothing bad about them and the price is ridiculous. If you're a makeup brush hoarder like me, you need to get these. I might even get some other eye brushes next.

Review: Zoeva 227 Soft Definer Vegan and 105 Luxe Highlight

Hey Beauties!

Sorry for not posting for a while. The holidays and all, it's been non stop. I've finally found some time to do another post and decided to introduce you to Zoeva brushes for those of you who may have not heard about them yet. I already own one of their eye sets, which you can see here. I've had an opportunity to add new ones for a bit lower price and of course I grabbed it.

227 Soft Definer Vegan

To be completely honest, I thought I was ordering their 227 Soft Definer. Somehow I didn't see the V for vegan at the end of the product name and on the photo it was their regular soft definer. Aside from that, I really like it now. It's definitely not as fluffy and wide as Soft Definer. It's a bit more structured and thinner in the size.

On Zoeva side: 7.80€, on Mojadrogerija: 10.22€

You can see that it looks pretty wide from the front view, but from the side it's pretty slim. The bristles are very soft and bleached white at the end. This is good, so you can see what shades you have on the brush and when it's actually cleaned :). I am a firm believer in the theory that white bristles automatically make softer brushes - don't ask me why, but this one is just as soft as all the other Zoeva eye brushes.

Because of the shape it allows you to use it in the crease and still get some definition in there. Of course it will blend the eye shadow and not make a very apparent line, but it just gives a bit of definition. It blends eye shadow nicely, but if you want something that's good for really blending the eye shadows, go for the regular Soft Definer. Because of it's flat shape is also really good for putting on the eye shadow all over the lid. Like a regular flat eyelid brush.

105 Luxe Highlight

Luxe Highlight brush was the next Zoeva brush on my wish list. I wanted it, because I'm obviously obsessed with highlighter and having a brush especially for it, would be nice. The bristles are extremely soft and they give this nicely tapered shape. The brush picks up the product only on the tip of the bristles and then blends the product into the skin with all the rest of the bristles.

On Zoeva side: 12.80€, on Mojadrogerija: 17.40€

It works absolutely great with highlighter. The brush is just big enough to make that beautiful sheen on tops of the cheeks as well as on the nose bridge. I also find this brush to be amazing for contouring. Especially for contouring under the cheek bone. Tapered shape fits perfectly under the cheek bone and can create a bit more defined contour, but still nothing that will look like a line.

I won't talk much about the appearance, because the brushes are really well made. Classic black wood and silver aluminum.

I have to say I'm very disappointed about Zoeva changing their prices. I've purchased their eye set when they were on the start of their career and their brushes were cheaper then. My set cost then 31.40€ and now it costs 38€. And I am pretty sure their single brushes were a lot cheaper, as well. Since then, the brushes gained huge popularity among beauty blogger and in the beauty world. I guess their ego gained as well and they decided to price them a bit higher, which is just bullshit in my opinion. I don't think they changed the brushes in any way, but they did change the prices. If you don't improve the product with higher priced ingredients, you don't have the right to price the product at a higher price. Simple as that. Things like that really make me angry, because it means the company only thinks about the profit and gives no value on satisfying the costumer. Enough said. We all now, we overpay the products waaay to much. But when the companies price a product one price at the beginning and then raise the price in time, it's just stupid.

Still...those brushes are really good quality and if you have a chance, buy some. Probably on sale! :) I know I'll add some more in the future.

For all Slovenian readers, Zoeva brushes are now available on Mojadrogerija.si.

Review: Real Techniques Sam's Picks Collection

Hey Beauties!

Feelunique had a discount on this brush set from Real Techniques and because you never have enough brushes, I decided to buy it. Let's just say, I expected a lot more, because of how popular those brushes seem to be among others.

The set of brushes comes in a plastic box. Each brush has its own place in the foam that's in the bottom of the box. The set includes 6 brushes: multi-task brush, buffing brush, essential crease brush, setting brush, pointed foundation brush and fine liner brush.

I got it for 27.29€ on Feelunique (it was on sale, otherwise it costs 38.99€).

The handles are plastic, different colors and the hair is synthetic.

Multi-task brush

I guess this is one of those brushes that can be used for a lot of things. For powder, blush or bronzer. It's not as big as their blush brush, which means it can really be used for everything. It's soft, but I expected it to be super soft. I find that it's also pretty dense, which means a high coverage application.

Buffing brush

This brush is supposed to be used to buff in the foundation. I guess you can also use it for any cream products. I have tried to use it with my foundations. That being said, I've tried it with more liquid, with more heavier foundations, to see if there's a difference. I find the hair to be too rough. It's pretty dense. My problem with this one, beside not being soft enough, is that whenever I apply foundation with it, it leaves strokes all over my face. It just doesn't seem to blend the foundation in the skin. It looks like it's just dragging the foundation all over the skin. This is probably my least favorite brush from this set.

I actually have a fake, inspired by Real Techniques or what ever brush from Ebay, which is a lot softer than this original one. Go figure.

Pointed foundation brush

I might be subjective with this one, because I really hate those flat foundation brushes. I see no use with them, except when using it for Halloween makeup?! Let's just say I don't like them. This one is very small for foundation brush. I would dare to say it's better to be used for concealer. The pointed cut is great for reaching smaller corners of the face. Again, very dense and not really soft brush. I like to apply concealer with it, but then I use my fingers to blend it in.

Setting brush

I wanted this set mostly because of this brush. It's one of those brushes that can be used for a lot of products. I find it to be great for setting under the eye area or around the nose. I also love to use it as a highlighter brush, although it might be a bit too dense for this. It could even be used as a contour brush, if you want a really small and harsh line. Maybe even to blend eye shadow. The hair is pretty soft and I like the shape in which it's cut. It makes it really easy to blend products, while your applying them with this brush.

Essential crease brush

On the packaging it says, that this one is set exclusive. It's a very small brush, that is meant to be used in the crease of the eye. The hair is pretty soft and fluffy. If you use it in the crease, you can create a pretty intense crease, because of how small it is. In comparison to Zoeva petite crease brush, this one  is a lot smaller, which means harsher line. I also love to use it around the lower lash line. It's just small enough to fit in there.

Fine liner brush

My opinion with liner brushes is always the same - they are too thick, which means you can not get extremely thin liner. The hair is of course a bit thicker and harsher. I find that less of it would be better. Maybe even a bit shorter, for a really good precision. Don't get me wrong, you can still get a pretty thin line, but I just like to have even thinner line. I can always make it thicker, but I can't make it thinner if the brush is not thin enough.

I guess those brushes dissapointed me. Before I only had their blush brush and am still head over heels with this one. I expected all the brushes to be as soft as the blush brush, but they were far from it. I really like setting brush and essential crease brush. Multi-task brush is also good, but nothing spectacular. As for all the others, I probably wouldn't purchase them ever again, because I wouldn't miss them.

I'm thinking of investing in some sets from Eco Tools, which have not let me down. I would love to get my hands on some of the Zoeva brushes, but I can not seem to bring myself to pay for their postage costs. If you recommend any sets or brushes that are really soft, let me know in the comments below.

Review: Ecotools concealer and Ebelin lip brush

Hey Beauties!

Finally some brushes review. I am one of those that loves makeup brushes. In fact, since I've gotten some foundation brushes, I never wanna use my hands again. Mostly because I don't have time to run to the bathroom every time I apply my makeup. The same goes for concealer, so I ordered this Ecotools concealer brush. I also saw a nice lip brush from Ebelin in DM store, so I got ti. I do have some lip brushes, but they are not as straight cut as this one and I like the thought of this one giving me more precision.

My experience with some of the Ecotools brushes was either excitement or let down. I'm afraid I did not like this one, as much as I thought I would.

The brush holder is of course made out of bamboo and all their brushes are nature friendly. I also like the metal thing on top. The bristles are a bit harder then I would want. I have extremely sensitive skin around my eyes and those bristles are too hard for my liking. The shape of the brush is great, because you put the concealer only at the end of the bristles. The rest of the bristles help to blend it out, because of their domed shape. The overall size it's also good, not to big and not to small. It's easy to get into space around nose and such. I have nothing that bothers me, except the hard bristles and I don't like that. It's not hard when you try it on your hand or anywhere on the face, it's only not nice for the around the eyes area. I wanted to use it especially for my under eye concealer and it doesn't feel nice. I can use it only to stipple the product around that area and then help with my fingers. For the rest of the face, it's good.

The brush cost me around 2.50€ (iHerb.com).

You can also see a review of some of the other Ecotools brushes here.

I'm glad I picked this Ebelin lip brush, because I really like it and have been using it a lot. It's plastic and has pretty soft, yet dense bristles. I like that the bristles are relatively short, because it gives me more precision and contact with the lips. I really like the straight cut, because I can apply a perfect line of lipstick around the edges of my lips. I really, really like it. The only thing that it's harder to do with this brush is creating curves around the cupids bow, since it gives straight lines, but you can manage it with some practice. My lipsticks have been locking a lot better with this brush, since I could really get the perfect application with straight lines.

The brush costs 2.45 €, total bargain (DM).

I would love any suggestions on which concealer brush is really soft and has that domed look to it? Any suggestions? Also, do you use lip pencils or put the lipstick on straight from the bullet?
