Here is the new Avon nail polish range called Magic Effects Fringe. It's one of those fun top coats that you can put over any regular nail polish to make it a bit more interesting.

Fringe range includes four shades, which Avon sent me. It has two neutral white and black based and two colorful violet and blue based.

The regular price of these is 5.90€, but now you can get them 1 for 4.90€ and 2 for 6.90€ here. You get 10 ml of product in each nail polish.

These nail polishes have fringe or rather small lines with two colors to use as a top coat over other colorful nail polishes. I remember long time ago I had one nail polish that had exactly the same lines in it. They were silver with multi chrome effect and I hated when it dried up and I had to throw it away. These are very fun top coats that you can mix and match with different bases. You don't even need to put it all over, maybe just use it as an enhancement in one corner of the nail. 

With one swipe you get a good amount of fringe, but I always put more coats on, so that I can get more of those interesting particles on the nail. You can build it up or make it as sheer as you like. The transparent base of those nail polishes dries to a pretty standard not really shiny finish. It gives off a bit of 3D effect with fringe popping out.

Ti laki imajo fringe oziroma kratke tanke črtice v dveh barvnih variantah. Je nadlak, ki se lahko uporablja preko drugih barvnih lakov. Spomnim se, da sem že dolgo let nazaj imela nek tak lak s srerbnimi črticami in multi kovinskim leskom in mi je bilo zelo žal ko se je strdil, da sem ga morala vreči stran. Torej so zabavni nadlaki, ki jih lahko med sabo mešate ali jih dodajata različne podalge. Niti ni potrebe, da ga nanesete preko celega nohta, lahko je samo kot dekoracija na določen delu nohta.

Z enim nanosom dobite ven kar veliko črtic, ampak jaz vedno nanesem več slojev, ker želim več teh zanimivih delčkov. Lahko je zelo prozorno, ali zelo gosto. Prozorna podlaga laka se posuši v standarden finip, ki ni niti preveč sijoč, niti mat. Delčki v laku dajejo nohtom 3D izgled.

Continuing with the Avon nail polish reviews, today we're going to be talking about my favorite finish - matte.

Avon sent me all four shades of their Avon Magic Effects Matte range. This range includes nails with matte finish in blue, violet, white and black. Two basic colors with two dark colorful colors.

Avon Magic Effects Matte - White

This is a true white shade. It looks that chalkboard white. I find it the hardest to work with. It's very thick in consistency and very pigmented. Because matte finish nail polishes dry really quickly, you have to paint your nails extremely quickly. You don't really get enough play time and because it's white, every mistake will be seen. The thick formula doesn't really help. It also really emphasizes all the mistakes, like uneven layers. One coat is not enough, because you can't cover the entire nail.

Avon Magic Effects Matte - Black

It's a true black shade. I will say it's not dark like night, but it is black. It's also a lot thinner in consistency, actually the thinnest of these and very pigmented. One coat is enough, if you can get it even, but I always put on two coats.

Avon Magic Effects Matte - Violetta

This is an electric violet shade. It's also pretty thick, but not as the white one and well pigmented. One coat will not be enough, you'll probably need two to get it even and opaque. When you apply thin coat it looks like violet with red undertone. But when you put over a second coat it becomes dark violet. I'm sorry, the photos don't show the true shade. It looks way too blue on the photo.

Avon Magic Effects Matte - Inky Blue

In the bottle it looks like a mix of dark blue and eggplant purple, but it dries to a  very dark navy blue with red sheen. It's also pretty thick, but not as thick as the white one and well pigmented. One coat might be enough, if you apply it heavily and as even as possible.

All of the Matte nail polishes are pretty thick (except Black) in consistency and dry really fast. You don't get time to play with it. One, two, three strokes and it's already dry, so you may mess it up by going over too many times. White is the thickest and the most hard to work with. Next are Violetta and Inky Blue, which are thinner and easier to work with. I find the thinnest to be Black and also the one that I can get most even application. All are well pigmented and one thick even coat could be enough, but I prefer to get it even with two coats. They also give true matte finish, which I absolutely adore.

The brush is also standard, straight cut.

Unfortunately this finish is not long lasting on me. They start to chip at the ends of my nails very fast and it makes the manicure not perfect. They chip on me the first day, if I really use my hands. Maybe that's again due to my weak nails.

I have to say I love the finish, but was a bit disappointed with the hard to work with formula. I guess I sort of expected it, because it is a result of a very fast drying effect. I will say Black is the best to work with and Violetta and Inky Blue are also good once you get the hang of it. I would personally stay away from White, or I would just use it for nail art, like stamping and such. This would work great with all these polishes.

We're starting Avon nail polish reviews with the most classic gel finish from their Gel Finish range.

The Gel Finish range has total of 25 shades that you can choose from. The shades include neutral beige and brown shades as well as most of the colorful shades. The only shades that are missing are green. There could also be a wider range of blues, since I know so many like blue nail polishes. I would also add a classic black.

Avon sent me three of their Gel Finish shades to try. They are Creme Brulee, Dazzle Pink and Red Velvet.

Avon Gel Finish Nail Enamel - Creme Brulee

Creme Brulee is a warm toned light nude shade. If I go for nude shades, this is what I go for. I don't like those that look almost brown or too skin like. I still want my nude to look light or lighter than my skin tone and a little more on the white side.

It's the least pigmented of all three nail polishes. That is probably because it is also the lightest. Lighter nail polishes are always less pigmented than darker. You need at least two coats for this one, maybe even three. It can be tricky to get an even application with this one.

Avon Gel Finish Nail Enamel - Dazzle Pink

Dazzle Pink is salmon pink. You know one of those that looks almost dirty pink and has coral undertone. It also has small silver almost white shimmer in it. The shimmer gives off a really nice sheen, when you're outside and the sun is shining. The shade is one of those pretty pinks, that is not really my style, but I know many would like.

It has good pigmentation, but because it's a light shade, you will need at least two coats to get it really opaque.

Avon Gel Finish Nail Enamel - Red Velvet

Red Velvet is that kind of ruby red shade, but almost looks like a metal shade. It has small shimmer in it, which makes it look like a liquid metal. It's very neutral rich red shade, perfect for any occasion.

This one is the most pigmented and pretty thick in consistency. It could be opaque in one thick coat, but I always use two.

Creme Brulee is very thin in consistency and pretty sheer, while Dazzle Pink is a lot thicker and more pigmented. Red Velvet is the thicker in consistency and very pigmented. My guess after trying these three is that the lighter the nail polish, the less pigmented and thinner. If you want to buy darker shades, they'll probably be thicker in consistency and also a lot more pigmented. Keep that in mind, when purchasing.

The finish of these is shiny, like I would expect from a range called Gel Finish. It should mimic that gel nails shine and I think it does. Avon nail polishes are in general not very long lasting on my nails, but I don't even want to state that, because obviously nothing stays on my nails. For example many rave about the long lasting Essie nail polishes, which last about a day on me. So, you know, this always depends, but on my weak nails they don't last particularly long, but they also don't chip the first day.

The brush is regular, straight cut.

Here you can see how pretty Creme Brulee looks like on my nails. This particular shade makes them look like fake nails, even my boyfriend said so.
